The Sarnaks, a race which was created by the meddling of the Iksar Necromancers are in an ongoing state of war with the Legion of Cabilis (the Trooper Guards).
They have a fortress at the Lake of Ill Omen, as well as their ancestral home - the city of Chardok - which is within the burning woods.
Sarnaks are highly intelligent, and have a strong presense of magic users within their ranks.
Their warrior classes also tend to have a high magical resistance rate.
To my knowledge, there is nothing you can do to gain faction with Sarnaks.
I have EverQuest 2: Rise of Kunark, but for some reason it won't allow me to make Sarnaks. They're on the race menu, but there icon is really dark and i can't click it, so it won't let me choose them. Dose anyone know what's wrong with it?
Killing the royals in Chardok gives the same faction as killing the normal sarnaks. And it's a pretty small hit -- somewhere around -5. From max ally to min amiable would be around 200 kills.
Some numbers I've figured out so far: Killing a sarnak in Chardok: -5 to Sarnak Collective Killing a sarnak berzerker in Overthere: -2 to Sarnak Collective Turning in 4 war braids in Overthere: 0 to Sarnak Collective Turning in a green goblin skin or 2 mineral salts in Chardok for the Signet of Service quest: +3 to Sarnak Collective

I am finaly conning Ally going for my Regal Band of Bathezid and have to stay Ally in order to recarge it. Also I would like to get the Spirit Wracked Cord eventualy. The only problem is that my guild is taking all there Enchantes there epic's. I have figured that we can take the prince with only 4 - 5 mob death's after reading up on strat's for this incounter. My question is if I am at max Ally, and we do this encounter 5 times will I still be atleast amiable so all i have to do is the salt and flesh? If it turns out that I am going to be loosing a 25PT damadge shield that stacks I will have to sit out on the raids.
What increments do you hand the salts and skins to Telcha? In other words, can you hand them in full stacks, or only in the increments that Telcha mentions? Does it make any difference?
No, giving him stacks doesn't work. I lost one that way. You CAN give him a stack of 4 skins - but only ONE. It seems like per handing in items only 4 factions hits at once can be achieved. I suppose it would also work giving him 2 stacks of 2 skins or 3 and 1, heh.
There's a new way of raising faction now with the chardok revamp. Killing goblins in nurga/droga raises sarnak faction. Also a few quests in chardok worth doing... faction being the major b**** in their case...
Yes I only know two of the Chardok Quest But they use the following, Green goblin skins and death mountion salt. You have to do these quest ALOT to get non-KoS faction but If you get it recovering from botched raids becomes a snap
Back in the mists of time killing Slaythe gave some factions that were not in the game at that time. One of them was Iksar (I think but it was a long time ago). Just before Kunark was released this was removed.
Now I finally realise why my level 20 warrior was regarded WARMLY by all the Sarnak that ambled past him in The Overthere!
A long time ago, he helped kill Slaythe a LOT of times (I mean for levels 16-18 he killed only Slaythe) as an exercise in Powerlevelling a Caster....
Now, I guess I can take him to wander around Chardok, and see exactly what "conveniences" get put in after the Revamp... (see the bit about Chardok from the recent EQ Stratics "House of Commons" developer chat: http://eq.stratics.com/content/irc/eqhoc_oct022001.shtml for what I'm referring to).
My char killed slaythe a lot pre kunark and was warmly to sarnaks once kunark up (only real faction rais, rest like "iksar" were bogus.)
However, now I've since got apprehensive to finally glower and since the arrival of kunark slaythe only lowers frogloks of kunark and raises nothing. Has anyone else noticed this? Or did my faction get "capped" and I just can't raise sarnaks on it now?
I myself did the Slaythe thing way back in the day with my druid and became warmly with (I'm assuming) Sarnak Collective. Its only for the outdoor Sarnaks though. Once inside Chardok, you are in the realm of the Brood of DiZok faction and are KOS again.
One interesting thing though, my druid has hunted a long time and is still Warmly regarded by outdoor Sarnak.
