I was sight bound to my rogue who was prowling around the fort to see the overall abundance of this mob when she posed the following question: are we looking for 'Sarnak Legionairre', 'a Sarnak Legionairre', or 'A Sarnak Legionairre'. I have noticed this kind of difference before when parsing my logs but, I confess, thought little of it. Now that it comes down to camping for a bracer, however, I would like to know about this subtle distinction.
Gwindor Nargothrond 35, Ranger Ayonae Ro This post brought to you by the letter 'a'
the a is for when you kill it it says (you have killed A sarnak Legionaire) it wouldn't make sense if it said (you have kill Sarnak Legionaire) justs makes sence
You can't assume that this game is supposed to make sense, sure, it's proper English to say 'you have slain a Sarnak Legionaire' however this is not the case, the mobs do exist with variations of thier name as was stated by the previous poster. I for one, while walking through the Oasis have seen 'an Orc Warrior' and 'a Orc Warrior'. I'm sure you'll also find 'a orc warrior' and 'an orc warrior' I have no idea why Verant can't get the grammar right on these things, or the spelling for that matter. Mispelled NPC names are rampant but who knows, maby when you're a big greedy corporation who cuts their staff down to about 1 GM per 2 servers, and a small handfull of programmers who's priority is to get the next expansion out by Christmas, or get the Legends server up I'm sure things get missed.
I won't even get into the ridiculous pathing bugs, mobs appearing underground, etc. Until they get off their asses and fix these bugs, learn to exploit them.

When solo'ing in Kurns Tower, I noticed a Burynai Excavator and a Burynai excavator. When I looked here on Allakhazam, someone posted the difference in grammar/spelling is the class. It goes something like the 'e' was a SK and the 'E' was a Shammy or something. Anyway, that's just what I heard.

Looted a Sarnak Great Cleaver of one of these bad boys IN the sarnak Fort of LOIO.... not bad looked beastly on him holding it, thought he was gonna rip me up by the looks of it.
Sanzar Crypton 25th season on Drinal Dark Covanents
Man i have been hunting these and other sarnaks in the fort and have not seen one good drop. Best thing ive ever seen on these are gems. How often do these and the other sarnaks drop stuff? Well its like this on the torv server at least...
Just wanted to make a lewt correction. I've nabbed a Sarnak Cermonial Dagger of these guys. Pretty nice for the range slot. Too bad dwrf warrs can't use it. Bulvar Biggins Warrior of the 25th Season Nomadic Spirits
I got this off of one these last night. Lost it in a roll but we pulled another Lego afterwards and it had one so I won it. Pretty nice duel wield weapon for my ranger.
I was in a group inside the fort for 4 hours I think, halfways through that time, the Bracer dropped and I won it with a 89, happy happy. Whats strange is that the next 5 or so pulls of Sarnaks we got several more items: we got 2 Sarnak Great Cleavers- from whatever drops it, 1 of their DOT-procs swords, one of those shoulders for monks, and a Tabard from an Adherant. All of these dropped within 30 minutes. After this nothing dropped at all for the next 2 hours. but believe me, If you're looking for someone to fill an empty spot in a group like mine, just yell out what we did "Fort Group thats already looted thousands of PP worth of loot, LF another tank" We had 6 tells in one minute, besides more people just coming inside the Fort for the goods...

Posted:Dec 04 2003 at 1:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ummmm, you meant "Fort Group thats already looted thousands of SP worth of loot, LF another tank"! it's ok. mistakes happen. you're sorry. now forgive yourself. :O)
Lost a roll on a Bracer of the Hidden after much heartache with a roll of 96 on the random. Yes, somebody immediately rolled a 97 just after me. It was heartbreaking.
Later on, we got a Hand Woven Shoulders to drop. AC5 +5vsCold.
Stats aren't really impressive for Rangers and Plate wearing tanks, but it's meant for Monks. This whoops on their gear. Just a bit lighter than the Lizardscale Mantle and better AC than Cured Silk. With resistance mods.
I picked this up during a grouping one night. We weren't randoming...just free for all (ffa) and being a caster I was starting to feel a bit left out because I was having to med through most of the looting (it's tough wactching silver ka-ching in on auto split when you know there is plat being looted). Anyway, I zipped forward once and looted and lo and behold I pick up these puppies. It might not look like much, but their value is going to be fully realized when I give them to my troll SK. To bash with a troll against magical creatures you need magical shoulder armor which has been harder to find than previously thought. Well, here it is. Is it worth losing the added AC of my banded shoulders? I think so. Those pesky willowisps will now cringe in fear when da Troll iz on da scene!
*sigh* i hate this friggin dungeon... been there too much...so far ive got three bracers, two pairs of hand woven leggings,Jad prod (chancellor),ive got about every weapon in here the Pitchakta's, eitchatka's ( the claws), Sarnak great cleaver,Blade of Passage, Sarnak Ceromonial dagger and sword, Sarnak flesh Harvester, hand woven shoudlers x2...lets see what else...Sarnak Emblazed tabard, Ketchata Koro mis(weird looking staff thing =) oh and by the way out of all my time trying in this dungeon not one of the earings have droped and thats the only thing im after...pffft what a rip off..
That's a pretty unfair comment there buddy. The fact that those are some of the best tanking earrings, and are no drop...you can't fault someone for 'camping' the area to try and get them. He isn't doing it to sell for other phat l3wtz. Not to mention, whenever I'm trying to get those bloody earrings, the whole fort is empty 99 percent of time, and even when I'm rampaging through, there are always some wanderers running around cause I can't keep up with the huge number, nevermind chancellor room unless I have partner. That room alone was mostly a full time job with a 55 shaman friend.
Again.. another comment from an anon poster and a.. probably anon player.. Ok, What if, you were leveling in the proper area for your level.. ie the sarnak fort.. then .. you know, moved on to the next area.. but damn.. that whole time, I didnt see the earing drop, or just didnt know about it till i was much higher level , and was thinkin to myself. hmm that is what i need there....... Well? oh darn.. im too high a level for that place, so I guess I should just forget about it.. LOL very funny.. EQ is a place of aquiring items.. If you need it, go get it.. especially if its no drop.. Now, major farming I dont agree with. Sure money is nice. But we all should allow the proper level characters to get their exp.. I'm done.. Hate whiners also.. Me personally, I will back off of a camp if a group comes up and converses with me about it.. No worries.. Sorry.. My 491cp worth. needed to cash it in or destroy it.
I'm not anon and I can see both sides. You're leveling in the sarnak fort with a group and you don't get the earings, damn the luck. Sometimes you're lucky and others your not. So now what, do you waste 20 or 30 hours farming the place waiting for them to drop when you're level 50+ or do you let others who can earn the experience get it and ignore a great item?
For some folks EQ is not just about aquiring items. My solution, share the spawn with the lowbies as long as they understand you're there for the earrings. Its really in everyone's best interest since VI instituted the PnP. And let's face it - no group of lowbies can outdamage a level 50+ anything, so they'll quickly agree to share the spawn you can easily take and keep. So by sharing it you get Best of both worlds IMO, they get exp, you get the loot item, and no one gets too whinny.
Also since they debuted the Stonebrunt Mtns. zone on test with warrens loot rules, Luclin is probably going to have warrens loot rules also. So get used to the idea of not being able to get the newest phat lewts people, its the way VI wants it.

People that whine are whats makin' EQ old real quick, mind yer business and come back when higher ups arent there, or get your group together earlier and beat the "campers" to it, or just deal with it.
