Just need 3 stacks of ale to bring rylin coil up to indiferent. Will need to mule the ale, or have someone buy it for you. You will not drop below amiable with dark reflection with just 3 stacks, but it will bring Coil up to indifferent for better prices.

Easy way to up your faction with Merchants of AkAnon !!! Go to Geoard BlueHawk in Bluehawks in Erudin at -1176, -330, +51.63. He sells Vasty Deep Ale .
Buy a bottle (several stacks of 20 I would suggest) and give them 4 at a time unstacked to Shondo Billin Loc +603, +814, -31.12 (in Erudin Palace )
Your faction standing with GemChoppers got better.
Your faction standing with MerchantsofAkAnon got better.
Your faction standing with KingAkAnon got better.
Your faction standing with DarkReflection got WORSE.
Your faction standing with Clan Grikbar got WORSE.

Well it is impossible to raise this faction without hurting your Dark Reflection faction. =(

In the Erudin Palace jail, give Shondo Billin Vasty Deep Ale.
Will raise Merchants of Akanon, King Akanon, and Gemchoppers.
Then lowers Dark Reflection.

I really need to raise faction without quests... I've been busy killing the mechanics.

MerchantsofAkanon faction I'm sure is required to be able to purchase the Traveller Boots in Solusek A - and I've been killing Watchman Halv for the last 4 levels!!! :(

Although the fellow who sells T-Boots and Tink Bags in Sol A is a Gnome, he's not on any Ak'Anon-related faction. He's on the Solusek Mining Company faction.

Not sure about in the past, but cognoggin doesnt not lower fraction with merchants of ak'anon. It's only farie <sp?> I killed him enough times to know :) Hope this helps!
