What gives? My Drakkin Mage (deity Veeshan) tried to buy from him and he won't sell to me...not even with illusion Gnome...says he doesn't sell to anyone of my ilk...and you can't buy from him invised cause it drops every time you right click on him...anyone have an answer?
PS - Would using the LoN loot item Tear of Tranquility on him solve this problem? It's effect says it reduces hate by 5000?
PSS - Con dubious so equiped two opal encrusted steins to raise CHA close to 200..still wouldn't sell to me...added illusion human...still wouldn't sell to me...tried the Tear of Tranquility and that only made him and the clockwork standing near him attack me and had to gate out to avoid being killed...so it's either mage which I can't change or deity which I can't change...guess if I want the boots I'll have to raise faction with him by killing kobolds...think it may be easier to get the journeyman's boots unless someone knows how to raise faction with him quickly as I don't feel like wasting time killing a thousand kobolds just to get enough faction to buy these damn boots...

He is flagged as a merchant, and such will not aggro (regardless of faction with clockworks) unless provoked.

Absolutely false info. I managed to do this quest as an agnostic darkelf warrior and turned in so many of that drink that I became ally. These miners in sol ro still attack me and I still can't buy from him. Mining co faction can only be gained by killing kobolds in nag's lair. Not sure if daybreak changed this or what but normal gnome faction doesn't work.

Yeah, it's def the Solusek Mining Co. Pretty lame there is no quest to raise it.

anyone can get these at level 5 using rogue shroud + sneak + stand behind npc =indiff faction
they cost me about 6900 plat or so with the shroud on (cant equip CHA steins in shroud) . I suggest buying a few invis potions in PoK . With hide+sneak for invis you can only walk and it will take forever when youre holding that much plat. Don't fall in the lava in sol A or you'll die. theres some invis walls, just follow map.. theres also a door that can only be opened with a nearby button on the wall (its one way)

I was exploring in SoL A a couple of months ago making a map of the zone my toon a Vha Shir BST was lvl 51 at the time, I found this NPC quite bt accident but was happy to be able to map his /loc I did not have the plat I needed and my CHA got me a quote of 6,800pp. well I returned lastnight at lvl 55 with the plat and the lil fellah is there and only had the boots and the bag no junk loot. I sold hime the looy from all the lil fire Eaters I bashed on my way in and made sure I had an open Inventory slot and all I needed to buy the bag my CHA is 138 and he conned Apprehensive to me all seems in order again he only has the boots and the bag I sell him my junk loot for a little plat no problem but when I clk the bag to buy it the BUY button wont light up (I couldnt buy the bag ot the boots)but I could buy back the junk loot I just dold him? this is weird to say the least I tried Sneak but still the same thing. I went to the Bazaar but did not find any for sale there either. Whats the problem with this NPC not selling just the bag or the boots to me?
I had no idea this little guy existed. Running back to PoK now for some pp.
I went to see him today for my bard epic 1.0....man, it stinks trying to get to him....that zone is so twisted. I looked for the lil bugger for half an hour....finally found him in a little castle setting....assuming its the gnome castle. The way I found him was by looking for places with gnomes....the more gnomes I saw, the closer I was to him.....but I finally found him and turned in my invoice to get the doll...then we ported out....I had no desire to walk back out. And YES, you will want to invis before trying to get to him...there are so many gobbies in the place its insane, and yes, they will aggro on you...and yes, it will suck fighting 5+ gobbies at once. So, long story short, when you try to get to this guy, make sure you have invis or someone who can cast it with you :)

Non-bards may be looking for him too... he's just warning people to invis before they wander all over.

Is it safe to assume there is a Banker nearby? It's kinda a long and dangerous journey to this guy for there not to be, let alone the weight of carring all that plat.

I am a DE SK, I got to him and used essence of gnome..... The disguise was fine but.... he will not sell to SK's. Any Idea that WILL work?
for the bag ... make a TOON and go i there (preferably a GNOME!)

2. Get a chanter to put on a guise for u
3. raise your cha with items (i'd say above 200 is good)
then pray you don't get attacked when going in there...

How hard is this little guy to get to? As a 51 Druid, do I need to bring a full group with me to get to him? Or would a high level Monk/Warrior be enough to escort me to him? Any help would be appreciated.

At level 51, a naked Bard could sing his way in to get to Marfen.
Sa a druid, if you don't wan't to get hit, just root/dot the gobbies as you snail your way in.
Once you get past the first bridge, root & run til you get to the castle if you don't mind a few small whacks, or continus the root/dot snail. Bind youself next to him and port yourself out. Get the cash, gate back and buy. Then port yourself out again if you want a quick exit.
Druids & Wizzies have it easy 'cause of the TP/Gate. Those with self bind can snail in, bind, snail out, get to bank for cash, gate in & buy, then snail out.
Those without self bind have a heck of a time carrying all the cash it takes. They either need a friend to gate the cash in, have each friend in a group go together with the cash split up to be returned to the buyer so the purchase can be made, or they can buy lightweight/pp selling price gems to cover the costs of the items after the gems are sold to Marfen (which will effectively increase what you are paying for the item).
Of course, lower levels may need a group to get to him. But at lvl 51, solo it.

With the new expansions a toon COULD snail in, bind, and use the staff from the Drakkin expansion to port to Crescent Reach, grab the cash and gate back to bind...

I just made the trip with my gnome necromancer and Marfen Binkdiple says "Necromancers like you don't have any place in my shop... now make way for welcome customers."
Is this item really 5250pp? not gp? Damn...I got to get more cash.
Iksar monks, like human monks can use nearly every vendor in the game, regardless of faction. Just like bards and rogues, all monks get sneak.

people are willing to pay over 10k for this item sometimes. because for some races its just impossible to obtain, such as the iksar who could use it most since he is a monk. make an enchanter, give him/her 5250 go to sol B, gate to bazaar, sells for 10k, repeat til uber.

Sol B, Nef's Lair, is where you go to raise faction with these fellas. You MIGHT be able to get a faction increase off Minos in Steamfont, but if you kill around 200 or so kobolds or such in Sol B, you should be ok to purchase anything off ths vendor with a gnome illusion potion.

Check to see how fast you level ... if you level fast, SoW potions would be cheaper till you get your 1st 3 AA levels and you can buy the bags in the bazaar all day long for about 6k on many of the servers.

Ran down there last night to buy boots. Conned apprehensive as I am a rogue. With CHA 59 price was 7411pp. But on +35 CHA gear and got it up to 94 and the price dropped to 6400pp. Oh well, back to pickin more pockets.
