Hail, Marlyn McMerin Marlyn McMerin says 'Greetings hearty adventurer. Searching for the components necessary for fine shaman spells are we? I have come to Kunark in [search of rare alchemist components], but I have found the dangers of Kunark are far too great for me.' You say, 'I will search for rare Alchemy components'. Marlyn McMerin says, 'I have heard word of four rare components - the clay of Ghiosk, crushed dread diamonds and powder of Yun. Most rare are chips from the bones of one who has touched the Bath of Obulus.' She wants the following: 1. Clay of Ghiosk. Comes from Army Behemoths in the City of Mist - Called Strange Ochre Clay, and identifies as "Clay of Ghiosk." 2. Crushed Dread Diamonds. Go get a dufrenite (you can buy this at several cities). In the Dreadlands, in the area with all the wizard spires, there is a MOB called "gem cutter skeleton". He is inside one of the pyramids (there's an entrance on the ground), and is KOS to everyone. An Enchanter, Necro, or Bard is required to charm him so that you can hail him, and he talks about sparklies. Ask him "what dread diamond," and he offers to trade a dufrenite for one. Give him a dufrenite (while he's charmed) and he gives you a "Dread Diamond" [No Drop](not crushed), and says how they are very valuable but more so in the crushed form, and that you would require high skill and a spectral pestle to crush it. The spectral pestles are found on spectral guardians in Kaesora and Trakanon's Teeth, and combining the dread diamond + spectral pestle to make Crushed Diamonds, which identifies as "Crushed Dread Diamonds" (trivializes at around 70 Alchemy skill, so make sure your skill is high enough - you lose the pestle, but get the diamond back). Alternately, you can find Crushed Diamonds as a ground spawn in the Timorous Deep on the Golra island at -8850, -6040. 3. Powder of Yun. Come from Froglok Yun Shamans in Trakanon's Teeth. It is NO DROP, black and called Shaman Powder. Identifies as "Powder of Yun." 4. Bone chips from the bones of one who has touched the Bath of Obulus. These are called Greyish Bone Chips, and come from Skeleton Warlords in Karnor's Castle. People will often let you loot these from their kill. They identify as "Obulus Bone Chips." Return all 4 items to Marlyn for your spell scroll. Turn in Strange Ochre Clay, Crushed Diamonds, Yun Shaman Powder, Greyish Bone Chips. For Evil Races and Iksars, The Great Oowomp will allow you to turn in the items for this quest.

is the addy for the mob. He's indifferent faction, but the mobs arround him are KoS to you, so if one attacks you, he'll go angry at you, or at least thats what happened to me.
On Combine, I didn't see the item spawn in TD for Diamond Dust, but the Gem Cutter has a ph in the middle southern pyramid in Dreadlands, you may have to kill it a few times till he pops.

For people playing on the Progression Servers, the only way to get it will be to do the quest until the Gates of Discord expansion is opened up.
On the Phinigel server, this spell became available for sale from Mystic Goharkor in Plane of Knowledge during Planes of Power.
Shammy spell merchant in Abysmal Sea sells it.

this is a kunark era quest so when this quest was put in GOD was not even in the makeings yet and this was the way to get the spell now that so many expantions have come out it stands to reasion there alternate ways to get this spell now

I did this quest today in about 7 hours from start to finish.
First,I went out to TD to the location (neg8850, neg6040) and picked up the CRUSHED DIAMONDS off the ground.
Second, I went to the bazaar and paid 15pp for the STRANGE OCHRE CLAY.
Third, I got a group of guildies,5 of them all between 63-65 but this could be done with much lower characters. We went upstairs to the room where the Dravlorg Warlord was (room with a brain sitting on the table, just past the jail) and killed him. 15 minutes later the Skeletal Warlord popped in one of the jail cells, killed him and I got my GREYISH BONECHIPS.
Fourth, We ran out to TT, tracker saw a Froglok Yun Shaman on track, we ran right to him, killed em, and I got my SHAMAN POWDER.
The actual time that I worked on this quest was only about 4 hours. In the other hours we also stopped by EJ and SB to kill a couple epic scouts and we also played around in KC (got the extended range item and 2 helms of rile).
This quest is really not that hard at all. The hardest part is probably the mob in KC, and its more of a pain getting to him then it is killing him.

I did this quest with my 63 Ranger solo got the spell with my Ranger and then gave it to my Shaman

Argh. 5 hours in KC without seeing an undead warlord. I'm level 45 a higher level group(60+) took me in and let me stay with them as they killed both courtyards, the jail, cleared the drawbridges, and camped the hand room. Saw 5 named pop in hand room. Got the werewolf headx2. We took down probably 40 drolvarg warlords. Advice to any shaman trying this, if you can't solo both guards at the entrance without your wolf dont even bother trying this alone. I saw somewhere the skeleton warlord is listed as level 45? A 53 monk said he couldnt scratch this thing - I believe it. One of his PH(Drolvarg Warlords) conned red to me every time we fought them, and hit me for 140+ Invis will not get you even to the courtyard if you don't time it perfectly(wandering undead). You need to get by another 10 mobs (a mix of living and undead...) after that. As has been said before ask on OOC, go when their are others there and plan on waiting a long time. -- Or maybe I was unlucky. The group had left 5 chips to rot before I came. Now if I can find a bard willing to trade MQ'ing his epic for MQ'ing my canib :)
Drolvarg Warlords have absolutely no relation to Skeletal Warlords.
The Drolv WLs are for the monk and bard epics. They have PHs, they aren't PHs.
Skeletal Warlords are random spawns all over the castle, but not in the Drolv Warlord room.

In the three hours we were there yesterday in a mini raid to get the chips for three people he (the skeletal warlord) was not random at all. I am ranger with 200 in tracking. He popped in the jail call every time (as indicated on the eqatlas map). About 30 minutes between the first two spawns, longer until the third. He never showed up anywhere else.
We setup in the hand room and pulled to it. Two strong groups. Very straightforward.

As far as the black powder goes that drops of the yuns in trak, it is black in colour but before being identified it says Shaman Powder not Black Powder. When i got my powder i got it off a Yun near the aquaducts(actually right under an aquaduct archway) near the wall just aways before the archway or opening entering the Ancient City/Seb area. They seem to spawn in that area more than anywhere else as i saw more than one. I died my first attempt after getting jumped by 3 other mobs. As a note for those that don't know, it can't be pulled, they will just run away and grab friends. Like a previous poster said, if you plan on buying this in the bazaar beware or you will get screwed.

This spell is droppable. However , it is being sold at ridiculous prices ... 5k on druzzil in the bazaar. I did have someone try to sell for 1.5k , which isnt bad.
Just a reminder, because I personally missed it, there is also a black Shaman Powder which ID's as Nok instead of Yun. I had both in my bank, looked identical until ID'd.

just finished at 41 with no prob. got the powder and clay for no more than 50p total in the baz, the bag of diamonds was right where the below posts said they would be, and after about 30 minutes at right moat in kc the bones dropped. this quest might have been hard before luclin but it aint sh*t now.
The Canni II quessst sure isss a real pain. I just finished it fifteen minutesss ago, and I'm level 50. What level 39 would even think of doing thisss? It takesss way too long. I'm not sure if it was even worth doing. Canni I might have held me off for four more levels, but it was getting annoying to have to Canni ssso long. Well, good luck to all the Shamansss about to do this quessst. It'sss going to take a while.

I just completed this quest with my little shammy, and I must say that without the access to my other characters and friends this quest would've been not so fun :P
*I looted Shaman Powder (droppable and buyable in Bazaar) from a Froglok Yun Shaman (just track em) in Trakanon's Teeth
*I bought the Strange Ochre Clay in Bazaar.
*I looted NO-DROP Grayish Bone Chips from the Skeletal Warlord in Karnor's Castle (he has a few places that he can spawn so PH's must be killed and usually it is acceptable to /ooc that you are looking to loot said Bone Chips from him)
I assume you can pick up the ground spawn in TD, but I took the other route...

I went to Golra/Ice island in TD (the loc of -8850,-6040 is VERY good, I forgot who submitted that). Thankfully the zone crashed after 2 hours of running around the island, otherwise... well it was there when the zone came up.
As an iksar shammy, I had to go talk to The Great Oowomp to do the quest. At level 51, all the ogre raiders around him scowled at me, but they were easy for my pet to pick off. However there is another mob RIGHT next to him inside the hut... Root Oowomp, E-bolt the mob next to him, reroot Oowomp, run away and camp to clear aggro. Come back and voila... McMerrin's Feast (Cannibalize II)!!

guys this piece is not at all hard to get had this in bank on my sk who duoed yes sk/cleric only team for exp in com from 38-50 great exp at these levels and with a cleric and tank type you can own anything in the zone except the reavers and 'ashir mobs/lhranc just camp the temple (turn right at gate on bridge it looks like a pyramid with water runnin down it) worst it ever got was 3 mobs at once behemoth will spawn on top of the temple 9 times out of 10 good luck and have fun

ok i mite be wrong here but why make a spell that is for a level 39 person to use but i see all these people saying how easy this is when they are level 50 what is the point of making it a level 39 spell quest if a level 39 person with a reasonable amount of time energy and planning cant aquire the items needed. cant have invis vs undead and invis on at the same time so cant even get around the corner of the hallway without something attacking me and then everything else around joining in. i have died soo many times i all most lost a level but thanks to some nice guy who rezzed me so i didnt lost all my experience. i think this spell quest needs to be either made easier so an actual level 39 person cando it or it needs to be made a higher level spell ques so a person of that level can actually accompish it.
I agree with you. I'm now level 52 and there is no way I could get this spell at 39 - 44. I still have not bothered because I get can 3 in two levels.

Finally got around to doing this at 48. When I turned in all four items along with getting the spell the clay was returned to me. She did ask for it so I don't knowq why it was returned. Well it's selling for around 200pp on bristlebane so I guess I get a bonus :).

That's not true. I'm a Half Elf Paladin and Oowomp is Dubious to me, while the surrounding ogres are KoS
One of the posts says the spell scroll you get isn't actually named Cannibalization II, but shows up as CannII once it's been scribed into the spell book. Does anyone know the name of the spell before it's scribed? Would be much easier to be able to search the bazaar and buy this thing.

just completed this quest and can report that the black YUN Shaman Powder is NOT no-drop! The white Tal and Tsu shaman powders are no-drop... but the black Yun is not. Had fun collecting these items... it was capped by a breath-taking run through Karnors to loot the bone chips! Have fun!
