Elder Glanoxx looks like he's been sick for some time. He looks at you for a moment and motions for something to drink.
Hand him a Water Flask.
Elder Glanoxx says 'Are you here for them... are you here to release us?'
You say, 'I am here to release you.'
Elder Glanoxx says 'The ones that keep us here... the ones who defy the gods. They must be destroyed. I cannot recall a time outside of this place, but I believe the stories. I trust that we are from somewhere else. These creatures claim to be gods. They claim to have created us from the filth of the mines. This cannot be. I have seen the face of our true god. He told me of their blasphemy. He came to me and handed me the knowledge of how to reach their Emperor. He taught me to resist the prying magic of the fanatics. Are you the crusaders of prophecy... the ones who walk in the mist?'
You say, 'We are the crusaders of prophecy.'
Elder Glanoxx says 'The prophecy will come to pass at last. Take my knowledge... the knowledge of our lord. I will not last much longer. This sickness will kill me like the others. There is one other who can help you. He claims to know some weakness of these creatures, seek him at the smelting furnaces near the mines. Now I must tell you the secret of the key.'
You say, 'What is the secret of the key?'
Elder Glanoxx says 'There is a pouch to be found. It was specially made and requires three separate components to function. Seek out the Idol of Zazuzh and the Ring of Zeruzsh. These items are kept by the Emperor's must loyal Taskmasters. Place with them the Ssreashzian Insignia. This item will be much harder to acquire. I am sure you will be successful... our lord walks with you. Please be swift.'
In the basement of the temple, kill named Taskmasters or Warden Mekuzh until you obtain a Taskmaster's Pouch. Then kill Commander Zazuzh, on the first floor, and obtain the Zazuzh's Idol. Then kill Commander Zeruzsh, on the second floor, to get the ring. Then go to the imperial guard chamber and kill the guards until one of the named Mobs spawns. They drop the insignia.
Combine the idol, ring and insignia in the pouch and you will receive the Ring of the Shissar, which gets you into the Emperor's Chamber. Once used, it will go on your /keyring as "Ring of the Shissar."
I used the SSRA instance to obtain several of my VT/emperor key parts.
Was able to obtain the idol and the ring, as both those mobs were up. Pouch was obtained from a Taskmaster in the basement. Got orb of luclinite from the first Rhag in the Arch Lich series.
Not bad since no competition in an instance and with no respawns, made it a lot easier to get around.
Unfortunately, none of the 3 insignia droppers were up.
Also did not get the SSRA shard despite killing 100 or so snakes. Going to try the skell caves for a bit now and see if that produces results.
PS Cleared all the skells in the caves and got a lucid shard on the last mass pull. So it does drop in the instance, but only from skells, it appears.
One downside: you're locked out for 6-1/2 days so don't do this when you're guild has scheduled an instance emperor raid within a week.
For those who, for whatever reason, want to defeat Emperor SSraeshza the correct spelling for the ring needed from the named is: Zherozsh's Ring. If you attempt to collect Zheruzsh's ring, you will be there 10 years from now without finding it...
Yes, you need each of these items for Each character you want to take into the Emporer's chamber.
As stated above, CoTH does not work INTO the Emperor's chamber. However, CoTH will allow someone that is in the Emperor's chamber to be moved out to any other room/hall in the Temple. I could not find a way out of the Emperor's chamber without the CoTH or using a gate. Good hunting.
So, I'm running through here to try and get the level 55 tasks done, but can't get past the first door! If I'm correct, I need to get past that one just to complete the key quest.
That door is a Rog-only door (well Bard now since their cap is above 200 at higher levels now, it's 200 or 201 pick lock minimum door). There is no key for it, and it's not unlocked by level. I know that the two doors that used to require the Commander's keys are now unlocked by level, and I believe the Emporer key is as well, but not postive on that one, as I still haven't gotten around to testing it out with a toon that doesn't already have in on their /key.
And yes you need to get past that door to get to the 3 mobs (Advisor, Arbitor, General) that drop one of the parts needed to complete the key. All 3 spawn in the same room, which is the room you use your finished key to enter the Emporer's Chamber.
There are several ways to get past the doors. The most common (but I've never been able to do it at the 2nd Rog-only door), is to levi to the top of the door, wedge in, duck, and click off levi. Another way, is to aggro mobs past the doors, and have them summon you through. Ranger Hail of Arrows is great for this, but takes some time on the longer doors. Other aggro tricks work as well.
You can also CoH to the room with the Advisor, Arbitor, and General, but not into Emporer's rooms.
There's probably more ways I've forgotten, those are just that I have tried. I always lied the CoH, as I had a Mag and a Rog one seperate accounts, and could park the Mag up there in the corner safely, and CoH whoever, whenever.

A mystery solved: How did the early dudes know how to make the Ring of the Shissar, and that it would open the way to the emp? You have provided us with the answer. Too bad the ring isn't needed any more.
I tried hailing this guy, and forget how far I got when I did it a year ago. but not this far for sure. My persistence in trying various answers was not good I guess. Thanks for the extra effort.
does each person need their own key, or can one person open the door for everyone? plz note that ive not been in SSRA much, and any info is much apreciated!!
Correct . keys that go on the keyring after you use them, means you dont have to have it on your cursor to use it again - came out a couple years back to make it easier so you dont ahve to store all your keys (NOTE: not every key goes onto the keyring when used, use /Key to see what keys you have .. or to see if key goes into the keyring)
I can't get past the shissar lorekeeper on the second floor. If he's over in that area I can't check for him. But if I can spawn a second one by just killing mobs in the tube room......:)
Croix's guide says more than one comm2 can be up at one time. can anybody confirm this?
P.S.- ATTENTION Lazy Noobs! The link is eazy reading like the Sunday Comics. It has lots of pictures for you stoned dullards who are always slowing down the game with your endless tard questions. So do some research for a change and impress your tard buddies by getting a clue.
Did Taskmaster with 65 SHM & 65 WAR. Pulled to a corner in the basement, soon as you exit tube. Used cloud of grummus to slow. Kept Q & FA on Warrior along with DoT's & buffed pet, did him no problem. Imune to root, so watch the adds when he wlaks off.

The Snakes aggro range are very short, i spawned Zazuzh many times with idols and keys rotting. My grp had a cleric, war, and rogue who was there looking for the Vah Shir mask. All 65 and 3boxed. Zazuzh himself was nothing special, i found the elites more troublesome than him.

Tried soloing the Skellies down in the bassment but cannot single pull them without pacify and they summon. All mobs, that I know of, in the mines and temples summon.
I pulled 3 on first pull in mines got all 3 rooted and snared then the ping-pong-summoning began and almost died. However, if you let one follow you to a far away corner while the others are rooted, you will be far enough away from others they won't come after you.
So, root and snare adds in mines and one by the exit. Back up, check for walker lizzies, nuke one in exit to brk root and take him to a corner and beat him to death. Not recommended for the timid of dying or weak of heart.
Edit: Wanted to add these have around 12k hp so not a terrible amount of hp, taskmasters and warden have about twice that.

1. TaskMasters Pouch This drops downstairs, go through the middle door under the ramp around and down the tube, once at the bottem of the tube go to the right through the archway, theres the mines for the shard, and several houses, each with a taskmaster, and the warden (sees invis) wanders. Bag seems to drop 1 out of 5 named masters, probably need 3 people to clear all the masters the masters have a few hrs respawn time.
2. Zazushs Idol First floor mob spawn, seems any snake can be his ph, i tried clearing snakes for 4-5 hrs not a single damn spawn of em, (good avg lvl 65 with 1 or 2 dozen aa group) camped a lvl 1 ranger checked it every few hrs eventually found him up and duoed him with sk/chanty team
3. Ring 2nd floor, with a single group clearing anywhere on 2nd floor you should get him to spawn once every 2 hrs or so he can be found up with track and lvl 1 ranger, but not often recommend ya bring healer/tank/dps min to do the camp, several elites on 2nd floor are unmezzable unslowable.
4. Insignia 3rd floor pain in the *** need 2 65 groups (or 1 65 100 aa group), or follow an emp raid on up, usually if your an app recruit or nice guy they will do room to get yer insignia. This is only peice i need, i guess i should be a nicer guy
Some good points. I would also add 1) Only one commander per floor can be up at a time. If ones already up, you can kill other snakes on that floor till you're blue in the face without seeing him. Make sure to track before setting up camp. 2) They can spawn behind locked doors. Bring a rogue with 210 lockpick 3) The insignia's are the quickest (and hardest) to get. If none of the named guys are up, you probably only need to kill about 4 or 5 guards to get one to pop. 4) There are two additional named taskmasters through the northern archway near the NE and NW corners. Nothing past that archway seemed to agro on us (cept for the taskmasters of course).
Seems to be like 1 in 6 drops. Was there for a few hours yesterday and that's what we averaged out at. The shissar have a really small aggro range, could pull single pull them at 60 as well.

My friend who was lvl 42 at the time has never been to ssra (hadnt even heard of it) and was confused. So not sure if the quest reward table is messed up w/ rings. Or maybe its just us bards are better than every1 else

Posted:Oct 21 2002 at 9:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The shissar taskmaster is not required for the quest as the pouch only drops off of the named taskmasters. Commander Zazuth is not required either. The insignia drops from one of a few named on the third floor of the zone, so each of those should be included for the insignia drop. Required items for the quest...
If you'll pardon me for contradicting you, Zazuzh IS required, as he is the only named that drops the idol. You are correct however in saying that the Insignia can drop from the 3rd floor named: Advisor Zekuzh, Arbiter Korazhk and General Kizuhx.
