    You say, 'Hail, Jali Kaliio'

Jali Kaliio says 'Greetings outsider. I trust you have [peaceful intentions] while visiting our village?

You say, 'I have peaceful intentions.'

Jali Kaliio says 'That is good to hear. Those filthy kobolds have caused enough trouble. We do not need more enemies.' Jali turns around and glances at another Kejekan. This one seems somewhat ill. Her fur is coming out in patches and strange sores cover her body. 'That is my wife, Yuio. She has come down with a sickness, no doubt caused by those accursed kobolds.' Anger wracks Jali's face as he speaks. 'I would ask you for [help] but you are a stranger and owe us nothing. Of course if you did assist me, I would be forever grateful.'

You say, 'I would like to help.'

Jali Kaliio says 'Oh thank you. You are most kind. I fear that there is not much time left for my dear Yuio. Please speak to [Khonza Ayssla]. She is most wise and perhaps can find some cure for this affliction.

You say, 'Who is Khonza Ayssla?'

Jali Kaliio says 'Khonza Ayssla is the village's High Shaman. She teaches the ancient ways of Okanjo and is most wise. If she cannot assist you I do not know who can. I would go myself but I am too worried to leave my dear wife behind. When you find Khonza, tell her that Jali sent you. Please hurry, friend!

Khonza Ayssla is inside the southwest building. Tell her, 'Jali sent me.'

Khonza Ayssla says 'Ah yes Jali, whose wife is ill. I have been looking for a cure for many moons. I do believe I can make one now if I had the proper ingredients. Unfortunately it will require the deaths of some of our lands creatures but the spirits will not be angered as it is for a noble cause. Perhaps you could [fetch them] for me?

You say, 'I will fetch them for you.'

Khonza Ayssla says 'Take this satchel and please listen closely. I need the following and they need to be relatively fresh. So dont waste time with frivolous strolls through the jungle. I require two Panda Claws, two Tiger Skins, two Asp Poison Sacs, a Bamboo Shoot, and a Kejekan Palm Fruit, which you will need to find somewhere in the jungle. Once you have these items, combine them in the bag and return to me.'

    You receive a Burlap Satchel.

Panda Claws can be found from pandas in Stonebrunt.
Tiger Skins drop from Kejek Tigers.
The best place to get Asp Poison Sacks is in Oasis of Marr.
The fruit and bamboo are foraged in Stonebrunt. Make sure to put them in bags after your food and drink so you don't accidentally consume them.

Combine the 8 items inside the bag to get a Full Gathering Satchel. Bring it back to Khonza.

Khonza Ayssla says 'I thought the kobolds would have you for dinner, but you made it back.' Ayssla takes the satchel and begins to pour different vials of foul smelling liquid into it. She then takes the entire contents of the bag and dumps it into a large kettle and begins to chant in an unknown language. After a few minutes, she takes a small amount of the now boiling liquid and puts it in a vial. 'Take this vial back to Jali. I pray to the Titan Spirits that it works.'

Your faction standing with Peace Keepers has been adjusted by 1.

You receive a Vial of Healing Liquid (MAGIC, LORE, NO TRADE, Tiny, weight 0.2) in return.

Giving this to Jali gets the following:

Jali Kaliio says ''Khonza Ayssla gave this to you? We must try it at once then.' Jali opens the vial and gently tilts back Yuio's head. He pours the liquid into her mouth and waits. Miraculously, Yuios fur begins to take on a healthy sheen and the sores begin to disappear! Yuio falls into Jali's arms then goes slack, passing out. 'She needs much rest. I cannot begin to thank you enough for helping us. Please accept this as a reward. It is not much but it should be of some use. You are indeed a friend of ours and if you ever need shelter from the wilds, please visit us again.'

DAY 1 :: So I came here with my level 27 Paladin and a Tank Merc, I started with the Kejekan Tigers which was white yellows and reds and killing other stuff like the Pandas to level up while I was there ended up leveling to 29 and getting the 2 Kejekan Tiger skins but not the claws or bamboo shoots so I decided to go to South Ro to get the Asp Poison Sacs which came after 3 kills for those of you new to EQ watch out there for 2 Giants that roam the south end of Ro and a Takish Hiz Goul "" side note "" > I killed the named Giant while I was there and decided to try to kill an Elite Giant at level 29 I almost had it dead but I couldn't root it and it pulled more so I had to run but I almost killed it if I would of pulled it further away from the others, nice little extra thing to try if you're there at around level 28-29 to see how tough you are on LIVE EQ NOT the progression servers < So I go back to Stoneburnt hoping to get lucky but nope I spent hours killing Pandas and gorillas and tigers leveling up or to get a panda with the claws to spawn with no avail so I read further into it and seen you can "" ONLY FORAGE FOR THE KEJEKAN PALM FRUIT "" which I thought that was pretty crazy so I logged onto my level 45 Ranger and went there to Forage for the Fruits near the dock area got all kinds of hides rabbit meats and veggies and grubs to fish with after several hours then near the end of my real day I finally foraged 1 fruit so I camped logged out to come back the next day to try for another one in case I want to do it on another toon later or to have 2 to dual wield or something. """ Day 2 """ :: so I log back on my Ranger to try to forage for another extra fruit after the 3rd try I got another one went to POK and banked it for my Pally. Logged my lv 29 Paladin back up and headed back to Stoneburnt thinking I'm gonna do it on day 2 and start heading all the way north to kill them Pandas so I'm killing Pandas looted a couple Bamboo Shoots and other stuff leveling up to 30 and ran into a Panda Cub way up there at the very top and seen it was actually holding the Claw it POKES DOWNWARD FROM it's RIGHT HAND,, looted the first claws and looked for more Pandas killing more stuff to get spawns I ended up getting 5 gorillas on me and had to run to the Dock to save my self I sell loot in Dulak Harbor and go back and near the dock ran into another Panda Cub holding another Claw and got super happy__-- "" 2 Asp Poison Sacs IN SOUTH RO "" 2 Panda Claws "" 2 Kejekan Tiger Skins "" 1 Kejekan Palm Fruit FORAGED ONLY "" 1 BAMBOO SHOOT FROM PANADAS "" PUT THEM IN PACK COMBINE THEM IT MAKES ANOTHER PACK TAKE IT TO "" KHONZA AYSSLA "" SHE GIVES YOU THE MEDICINE TAKE THE MEDICINE TO "" JALI KALIIO "" MISSION COMPLETE (((( MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE FRUIT AND BAMBOO SHOOTS BELOW YOUR OTHER FOODS SO YOU DON'T EAT IT BEFORE YOU TURN IT IN KEEP IT IN THE LOWEST BAG BELOW YOU OTHER FOOD !!!!!!!!!!!! ))))))))

If my experience is anything like the norm, then be prepared for a VERY long wait trying to get the panda claws. Everything else on the list is fairly easily acquired (for asp snake sacs, follow advice on the ZAM entry for the sacs (clear noted dervish camp in South Ro: p3000/n1000)

still waiting for my second panda claw as I type- have been at it for a couple of days.

    I think I am in a Catch-22....

Can't do any of these quests because I don't have the faction, but can't raise the faction without doing any of the quests!?!?!

Any one know of some mob(s) that I can kill or other quests that raise Kejek faction?

When I did this quest, I found this fruit hard to forage. Eventually, I spent some time standing on jungle texture tiles and still did not find it.

On a hunch, I noticed that some of the jungle trees had bright purple on their leaves, where others did not. Thinking that they looked like ripe fruit, I stood directly next to the trunk on one of these purple fruited trees, and got the Kejekan Palm Fruit on the 1st forage!!!

A day later, doing the quest again, I thought perhaps it a fluke, so went to test it. Standing under another purple fruited tree, I foraged and got the Bamboo shoot. I waited, and forage again, and got the Palm Fruit!!

    Hope that helps!

This has happened to me in High Keep, when my warrior does the gob ear turn-in to Capt Bosec. I hardwire my Taunt to my left arrow. The second I move after the turn-in, I Taunt him and he hits me. Fortunately the Warrior is high enough that I have time to get to the zone before I get dead, so no harm, no foul. Not sure that is what is happening to you, but it is one explaination.

I finished this quest last night, turned the bag in to Khonzo and got the vial of healing Liquid. Gave the vial to Jali. He responded: Jali Kaliio says ''Khonza Ayssla gave this to you? We must try it at once then.' Jali opens the vial and gently tilts back Yuio's head. He pours the liquid into her mouth and waits. Miraculously, Yuios fur begins to take on a healthy sheen and the sores begin to disappear! Yuio falls into Jali's arms then goes slack, passing out. 'She needs much rest. You are indeed a friend of ours and if you ever need shelter from the wilds, please visit us again.'

Got the two faction bumps and the item, then he says something like: "May you find Peace in your next Life" then Jali cast Raging Lightning. "You have taken 1500 non-melee damage from the raging lightning." Loading, please wait.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Bamboo Shoots are a rare drop off Mature Pandas.
Kejekan Palm Fruit is a very common forage, I would think someone would give you one in zone just for asking.

You'd think when they give the quest for a zone they would let the snakes in theh zone drop the sac or put Jungle Asp in the Jungle to drop the sacs makes no sense that peopel have to go all way to Oasis or another zoen to get the Sac's =)
    just my 2cp's.
    Summary
    # Jun 02 2003 at 10:19 AM Rating: Excellent
Since I managed to get everything together, I thought I'd summarize my findings on the easiest places to get the items:

    Tiger skins(2): Kejek Tigers, Stonebrunt
    (yellow stripped skin graphic)

Asp Sacs(2): Cisterns Asps, Oasis of Mar/Southern Ro
    (green venom sac graphic)

Kejek Palm Fruit(1): Foraged in highlands and lowlands of Stonebrunt.
    (Purple fruit graphic)

Bamboo(1): Foraged in highlands and lowlands of Stonebrunt and dropped from Pandas
    (brown root graphic)

Panda Claws(2): Elder Pandas, Stonebrunt (you can actually see them carrying in their right hand)
    (silver claw graphic)

Notes: I cant remember if the claws drop from anything but the Elder Pandas, but all pandas occasionally drop decent gems and bamboo. Look for that Fire Emerald drop- it sells for up to 80pp to merchants!

Good luck, and may the wind be ever at your back.

Although they didn't appear on the panda itself, I got claws from a mature panda today.
The way to tell if the one youre fighting has claws is to watch the combat messages. If it has them it'll 'slash' you, if it doesn't it'll 'gore' you.

Edit: And just as a reminder, don't do what I just did. Make sure you have some food in a slot above the bamboo so you don't eat it. D'oh.

Is it necessary to talk to him, or can I simply hand him the completed formula to complete the quest? I know the quest doesn't list a minimum level, does anyone know of one? Thanks in advance.

Both the Bamboo Shoot and Kejekan Palm Fruit are foraged. I came here looking for clues to finding the Bamboo, but then had a thought and rechecked my bags. It seemed I had already foraged it and not realised. It looks like roots and I was expecting it to be green and shoot-like. The Palm fruit look like berries.

I spent 2 days there hunting miscellaneous things in the mountains while trying to forage a bamboo shoot (I had found about 15 palm fruits).. then took a walk today over to the jungle to try there, and foraged 2 bamboo shoots within minutes. My guildies said it was just a coincidence and that you can forage them anywhere in the zone, but...

I'll stick to the jungle from now on ^_^

This is true, got one off a panda cub as well.

I foraged Kejekan Fruits and Bamboo Shoots in the snowy area. Kejekan Fruits seem rarer (5 shoots, 1 fruit).

The Panda Claws can be seen on the Panda's when they have one, you have to look close though, because the claws are 'merged' in the paws of the panda and only bits show through (hope that makes sense).

I also have bought one Panda Claws from the Kejekan Village vendors, for 35pp.

I have 2 panda claws I even gave one away. Maybe I was very lucky? I have the 35 druid there, tracking matures, adult and elder pandas anyways. Its some of the best xp. Not the mature but ADULT panda seem to drop and I think even the elders will drop it.

I was in a group and a guy asked if he could loot all pelts, that was fine... untill I found out he decided these pelts are 'useless' and was destroying them. They actually are not that uncommon at all. **The white tigers seem to have more of a chance to drop them and even 2 sometimes** as said below. I dont know why but the tigress' near the water fall... dropped them often. I think I have 3 or 4 now. (of course I want to get 2 blades for my ranger)

I aggree the weapon is not crap, the prock is very nice, they are not lore and its really not that hard to get the stuff, as mentioned before the most annoying part is the forage im sure. As it is I have not gotten anyhting and my forage sucks.

Also... for pandas.. I will share a secret they spawn a great deal in 2 places. the first is that road fromt he cat people, along that wall has a TON of them. Also about midstream in the grassy section there is a definate spawn point. And if you go up tot he waterfall and head out towards the Highland Kobold Camps, and keep heading into that direction there are 2 pandas that spawn 2 matures. if you imagine the path as a "Y" shape... you are traveling the "leg" of the letter Y (going up) Tracking showed one off to the right and one off to the left. I killed them a few times (yes the roam a bit, mostly out to the rest of zone) but they came right back. so I know of at least 3 pandas that alsways spawn in the same place. well more because of that wall fo rthe road... but thats hard to explain.

I found that if you sit about a third of the way at the top of the cliff between the mountain range and where the river turns into a water fall pandas will wander down to the waters edge so you can medd up for the next pull if you are soloing. It also seems to be a safe spot to pull to i had no adds the whole time. The foraging part was a little harder. Time is the big thing it doens't matter where you are in the zone you will get the items, it is just irritating to sit there. My biggest reccomendation is to stop by oasis or south ro and get the asp poison sacs before coming to Stonebrunt to save yourself time
    Viability of the Weapon

I've done this quest 4 times, and was using the weapons at lower levels. I found myself prefering my Icetooth's Claw and SSoM to a pair of these.
They proc at level 20, which is fine, but they are not a fast proc, and the spell is often resisted or doesn't hit for very much. I found they only attracted me undue agro and did not have a very good Dmg/Delay ratio.
Also, despite the pricing I found here, I could not find a buyer willing to pay 400, instead I sold one of them for 250 to some sucker to get an Icetooth's Claw back, and gave another to a Guildie.

No, the description is Kejekan Palm Fruit. I've done this quest twice and have foraged both the items right away. Down here right now to get 1 more panda claw to finish it for the third time. Just keep foraging
