Spawns in library room. Info in other posts is great on how to get there.

Respawn timer for PH is ~15-20minutes. Appears to change every time. PH's include tortured librarian, guardian ghosts, and skeletons. Took 14 PH's until Spectral popped. Turned into enraged librarian once I handed in the diamond while charmed.

Kaesora is a pain. And reading the in game maps of the zone doesn't help a whole lot, with its overlapping halls, pits, different levels and other confusing aspects. So, I will do the best I can to keep this explanation simple, yet thorough. You'll encounter a couple of pits that you'll need to drop down. These falls, however, are very short; you shouldn't need levitation.) You might wish to look at this EQ Atlas map to find the way.

When you enter Kaesora, you'll be facing south. Follow the hallway south (it will open to small room almost immediately from the entrance; just go through it and keep going south). You'll come to a pit. Drop down it, and continue south until you come to a room with most of the floor missing. Drop down to the space below. (This will be room number 7, on EQ Atlas, if you're looking at it.)

From this space, you'll see two tunnels leading out of it; one in the northwest corner and the other in the southeast. Take the southeast tunnel. The tunnel will then turn west. Keep following it -- it will bend south, then west again -- until it opens to another room. On the EQ map, you'll see a tunnel leading out it heading north. To get to this exit, take the ramp that begins on the west wall of this room that spirals upward. On the EQ Atlas, the room is drawn roughly as a circular hallway that spirals up.

Follow the tunnel north -- it will curve northeast, then north again -- and it will lead to a opening, a three way intersection. Take the EAST tunnel (not the north). The hallway will lead to another pit. Drop down. You'll see a door on the east wall. Open it and follow the tunnel that leads east. (Strangely, this tunnel doesn't show up on the in-game map, but does appear in EQ Atlas.) It will lead to a larger room with a door on the south wall (this room will be room 3 on EQ Atlas).

Take the door on the south, and immediately face east. It will appear to be a solid wall, but this is an illusion. Just go right through it. From there (on both the EQ Atlas and the in-game maps), You should easily see the path to the Library (room 5 on EQ Atlas). Just follow the path east and continue following as it turns north, then east, then south, southeast, southwest, then runs east again. Continue following the tunnel east until you come to the south end of a large opening. The library is a beige marbled-looking building with dark green marbled pillars it the middle. Just go inside and wait in the room with the book cases.

Another post I read said that the tortured librarian mobs will despawn after three minutes. I can confirm that this is true. The first tortured librarian disappeared after three minutes (I mezzed it when it aggroed rather than killing it) and was replaced by another tortured librarian, which also disappeared after three minutes, then was replaced by the spectral librarian. I charmed and gave it my dull diamond and got the enchanted diamond in its place.

So...to give the brief version of these directions.

You'll be facing south when you zone in. Go south, drop down the pit, go south. When you come to the room with most of the floor missing (Room 7 on EQ Atlas). Drop down to the space below, take the south east tunnel, follow it due west to a room with a spiral ramp leading to an exit on the north wall. Follow the tunnel, which goes due north. Take the first right (east) and drop down the pit. Take the door on the east wall to a larger room (Room 3 on EQ Atlas, and there should be spiders in it) and take the door on the south wall.

Turn east as soon as you take the exit, and go right through the wall (which is an illusion). The tunnel will turn north, east, southeast, south, southwest, then run directly east, which will end in a large opening, to the north. The library is the beige marbled building with the green marbled pillars. Go inside and you'll get your spectral librarian to spawn in the room with the bookcases.

if u mez him or lose agro after u gain agro he despawns and respawns as ph or himsef ... works the other way around 2 u can argo the PH mez em and wait 15 sec and it despawns and insta respawn possibl ph or librarian

i got here to charm him had him on target and gettin ready to cast and poof he despawns and ph there this is b.s

I did this three days ago. I'm currently level 57 and did this no sweat.

When I went down there, it took me maybe 2 mins to get to the library. I brought my level 56 pet with me and was tearing through them even with an add beating on my pet. I just threw a rune on him and let him go to town.

I went into the library and turned the corner and who was looking me right in the face? None other than the see through nerd himself. I charmed him and he immediately got attacked by the floating thing with teeth which he ate through quickly.

I look in my inventory and I FORGOT THE STUPID DIAMOND. So I gate back to the PoK and get my gem and run back to Kaesora and head back down to the library and there he is. Charmed him, handed him the gem, he broke charm, i mezzed him, and gated out with my gem, leaving him up for anyone else who wants to do the hand in.

Acutally, the easiest way to get to him is to cast illusion Air elemental for lev and then IVU and drop down the two holes, go straight and come up from the back courtyard.

Older posts mention using invis to get to undead then IVU past that to walk right down to the library. I would rec against it I went in invis and got jumped by the room of spiders. I thought at first that invis might have just dropped but on second trip in I used improved invis on Chanter an he was in the lead of the three. the spider in the second room (the one with the secret door) agroed on him and alerted the first two to his presence. So some of the spiders clearly see through. I'd just summon the pet and let him wade through them. They are easily pacified and Mr Ginsu can easily take them one on one using the animation you get in mid-50's.

Also if you ge bored and decide to kill the tome keeper between spawns. He runs fast at low hp. I assumed he was undead like the rest and let him get around the corner and lost Line-Of-Sight to root him. The train that resulted was why I got to come back in the second time. Hehe.

I have my diamond enchanted now and will be heading in again tonight to get the drop for HS key before saying goodbye to Kaseora.

For my fellow Enchanters looking to do this part of the quest, I hope to post some relevant info here for you. I used the directions from the following link to get myself to the library, with no problems:

Once I got to the library, I cast my pet and got haste on him. Then since the librarian was not up I cleared the room. I kept Rune 5 on myself and berserker spirit on my pet...I also threw in a few nukes...really wasn't a problem at all.

Then I sat around for awhile, still keeping my pet up. The librarian popped, I mezzed it, invised myself to get rid of my animation, charmed the librarian did the trade and gated out. The librarian did turn into an enraged but I was able to gate out with it beating on me no problem.

Hope This Post Helps All Of You Fellow Enchanters Out There

I've been trying to do enchanter epic mostly by myself as i have the time. I managed to do most of it and found this part to be reasonably easy to do. First invis yourself to undead and make it to the library. Find a safe spot where you can go and not get agro (on side of library between spons). From here, invis yourself to undead and walk into the library. Pacify the mobs one by one by targeting them, going out of range, cast, then invising and repeat. Luckily for me the librarian was up when I went there so once everything was pacified a charmed the librarian and handed the diamond over. I had no agros except for the enraged librarian that pops once you hand in. At this point I just gated.

If you are afraid he will beat you up after hand in, I suggest using a rune on yourself so you can gate out without too much of a chance of being interrupted.

PS: Also did this strategy with the Impaler Tzilug

Spawn timer on most mobs is approx 18 minutes. Any of the 3 sites in the Library may pop a librarian.
Spirit tome appears to be the common Drop
Kunzar mantle and SPectral shroud appear to be uncommons
Sage's Battle Staff appears to be rare.

Anyone know what the spectral pestle is for? Lore and No Drop...
