I came down here at 51 after someone was bragging how this area is wonderful. I spent 2 days killing kobolds in warrens and purchased a key in paineel for bout 110pp.
25% exp bonus and no one here to bother you.
As a necro I realized this area is too cramped to fear kite so I decided to go back to the Root and Rot tech. It worked very well. It keeps the damage off your pet and allows you to med while you root and rot something else.
I would recommend this area as a great solo spot. Just be tactful on your pulls and stick to no insta damage spells to attract attention of other mobs and you will do ok.
Earthen Blade, 26/50 2HS, war/ber, haste at 25th level. It's on the site, I'm sure. I was pretty surprised to see one drop off a regular elemental warrior at the entrance; first one I've seen after dozens & dozens of kills there.
Just make sure to follow the trick explained below: the only elemental that can be in line-of-sight to you when you pull, is the one you're pulling.
Occasionally, one might aggro if it sees a nuke land on one of its fellows, even if it can't see you. To prevent that from happening, wait until the elemental you're fighting is below 10%, then nuke with Shock Of Spikes. You still get full xp, & little-or-no chance of nasty adds.
Crusaders are cake, even with their healing. Monstrosities & warriors are boringly easy. With KEI, you can break the spawn & still have 4 bars of mana, provided you med about 10 seconds between kills. At 51st level, I'm getting 1 blue tick of AA xp for every elemental. The loot isn't bad, either, though it's not the BEST place for loot.
All in all, I think that Hole entrance is one of the best solo spots for a 51st level Mage. The xp & loot are certainly better in Dulak's Harbor, but that's a bit harder to get to. For the time investment, I'd rather just POK-book to Paineel & stroll to the Hole, & since I'm a Gnome, I have no trouble getting in. Best of all, even on Veeshan at peak times, this spot is rarely camped, & I can often spend hours without anyone ever coming into the zone at all. Too bad, because The Hole is a pretty sweet zone :)
The first hallway with six of these guys is a good solo camp for a 49th necro to (so far)52nd.
(warning: long-ish post on the methods I've used to successfully solo-camp and take advantage of that Hole xp bonus - mostly necro stuff, but also the technique to single pull them and prevent adds)
This camp is easily single pulled, if you're careful (there's a trick to it, see below) and a single add can be handled by you and your lvl 49 pet (Invoke Death).
Memmed spells: Bond of Death, Ignite Blood, Insidious Retrogression, Root (just in case), Diamondskin (or Manaskin), Pact of Shadow, Augment Death, Gate
Buff pet with Augment Death, and set to guard midway along the first walkway around the corner from the hall, step back and stand on the low wall as far away from the mob as possible, and pull the first visible elemental warrior with Bond of Death - have pet attack as the mob gets to it, then jolt pet with Pact of Shadow - assist your pet and hit the mob with Ignite Blood (or some other nice-ish, fast-casting DOT) - when the elemental warrior gets down below 50% HP, hit it with Insidious Retrogression (you have to use either that or Dooming Darkness or Cascading Darkness to get a snare on it - it'll run when it's HP gets to about 10-15%, usually, and if it makes it back to where it's line-of-sight with the other warriors, you'll get adds - two are just handle-able, three and it's time to swim for the exit or gate - I use insidious retrogression because at lvl 51 they resisted Dooming Darkness fairly often). Once it's snared, it'll just stand there for the last 10-15% and look stupid while your pet and DOTs wear it down - if you root it, it'll fight to the bitter end.
You'll always be pulling the mobs out of the hall and onto that first broken walkway where you initially set your pet.
For the second one, use F9 to target it while you're still around the corner, then step just into the entrance of the hall and wait for it to jump you - when it jumps, run back to your pet and repeat the process - Bond of Death on mob, Pact of Shadow on Pet, Ignite Blood on mob, Insidious Retrogression on mob, loot. The remaining four I pull with Bond of Death, like the first one - for those four, it's safe to stand in the entrance of the hall to pull - but be ready to move quickly once your spell lands.
The trick to the single pulls is that it takes a bout a tick for these guys to aggro - and adds will only jump in if they see one of their comrades being attacked AND the attacker is in line-of-sight. So you have a couple seconds after your pulling spell lands to get out of the hallway entrance and out of their line of sight - your prey will obligingly come to you and pet and not bring any friends.
If you Lich yourself up, and only use Pact of Shadow on your pet on every other pull, or so, you can actually pull all six in order and break the camp in - but it's a lot of work to keep pulling all six. You pretty much have to pull the next one as soon as possible - but the xp is fantastic. If you're really good and motivated, you might end up with a couple minutes to rest before the first mob respawns.
These guys take 20 minutes to respawn, so just set a kitchen timer when you pull your first one, and you'll know exactly when they'll start re-popping.
I didn't start camping here until lvl 51, but I'm using all level 49 or lower spells so I think it's in the realm of possibility at 49 - but you might just have to try it and see - your mileage may vary.
Can a Sk of the lvl 49 Solo this guy? If not, what lvl can he solo this guy? And the Imbued Granite Spaulders , how rare is that loot from this guy? Looking to come here and lvl up/ for some loot. Ty for all help =)

Medya Wyvernslayer 46 Magician of Quellious and common attendant of parties tossed by Lord Nagafen, (may his reign rule for more than 10 seconds when he spawns) Bertoxxulous Server
good question just looted this off one in the front entrance on torv server but no info on it yet? with the latest patches though with more info in the windows it suggests its either used in a quest or just merchant fodder. any other suggestions would be very helpfull
These elementals(dunno about the halfpipe casters) drop alot of "Loam Encrusted" armor. The group found 4 pieces in 7 yellows of xp for me. Some is very nice, don't have stats atm but will submit. Basically it is enc equip, boots were 8cha/dex/agi with saves, shoulders being 3int/cha/agi and +2 all saves. On the new server, there's not an economy going good so it's good for my enc.

Posted:Mar 02 2002 at 8:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Anyone think a lvl 39 ranger and a druid buddy around the same level could come here and camp the ent? Just wondering because i can make it my new camp spot in a bit, and some nice lewt drops.
I am 54 mage working on my epic and would like to know... 1. Can the elemental warriors be soloed by a 54 mage? 2. How rare is the epic piece drop? 3. Where do the elemental warriors hang out in the hole? Thanks for any help given.
I am a lvl 51 mage and was soloing elemental warriors with ease near the zone line to paineel. they spawn right near the zone line. I haven't seen an elemental binder yet so i'm not sure on the drop rate. I think theres about 4 elemental warriors that spawn near the zone line but they can be single pulled and if you get 2 dont worry, if it's done right it should still be easy.
