First time I was charmed by a mob was back when the game started. There was a human necromancer named Varsoon the Undying in the Qeynos Hills. I didn't know about him so I thought he was another players until I went up to him with my Monk. His Pet hit me once and then Varsoon charmed me. I saw my hp regen jump big time. And then it got funny, we for me anyway, a party of players came up to the ruins--I guess they didn't know about Varsoon either. Varsoon sent his pet and me down to meet them and we beat them into the ground. I had no control over anything. I was trying to type a message to them to let them know I wasn't doing it, but I had not control. Then after wiping out the whole group we, me and the skeleton pet, ran back up to Varsoon. My hit points regened to full fast again, then charm broke and he killed me. Too bad they took charm from Necromancers. You think Necros are tough now, back in the day Necromancers were god like.
I was helping a mage and a ranger get their epic pieces yesterday and after the ranger had pulled the gypsy room and said it was ok to come in the mage took off, i lost track of him so i followed his pet, it ran straight into a room full of mobs, this one was one of them, well i got someplace, was at 20% dotted, slowed, and had over 10 mobs on me when i get this message "You have been charmed" or something like it, at that point the mobs that had been attacking me healed me to full, and left, when charm broke i camped to clear aggro and sat there... stranded, but the point of this is, charming can be a good thing.

Speaking of charm, a friend of mine, a level 48 warrior, and me, a level 41 shaman, were in Qeynos hills, when we attacked the enchanter there and he got charmed. He also has sow (as did me) so I had to outrun him to the Blackburrow caves. Imagine everyone's surprise when suddenly a barbarian and ogre run by, only to have the ogre turn around and WHAM, DEAD.. WHAM, DEAD... WHAM... DEAD... WHAM.. run run run WHAM DEAD...
Oh gosh, I was watching from his screen and I was giggling like a school girl. Almost 15 people died it was HI-LARIOUS.
The best people to kill are the Munchkins. They bombard you with "WTF GGO bbb-t FUXor UUU". Makes us all feel good that we're mentally superior to the munchkins. HAR HAR.. I feel like another massacre today!
I have a Question? Ok the only way that your friend would of killed them is that they attacked the same NPC. He is like a stupid enchanter pet so next post please get you stuff straight.
That is not true. Once when I was lvl 10ish I was hanging out by the lake in Qeynos Hills and I saw an NPC there named Rephas. I hailed him (he was apprehensive) and he gave me some generic line about the god of thunder. Next thing I see is a dark elf appear out of nowhere and kill me in two slices of a two-handed sword. I stared dumbfounded at the screen. He had a guildtag <Cohort Chalybeius> He immediately sent me a tell apologizing, apparently he (lvl 50 back when that was the highest lvl) was camping Rephas for cash to start a twink and he had been charmed. He gave me 50pp for the inconvenience (which was quite a lot of money to me at the time)!
BY THE WAY - YOU CANNOT SPEAK WHILE CHARMED!!! Others cant hear you no matter what while you are charmed. Being charmed is considered linkdead, and obviously you dont talk while LD. So no matter how much you beg or instruct people they wont hear you.

Recently me and a friend (38 Paladin, 34 Warrior, at the time) went to MM looking for granites when we saw this chick standing at one of the foremost spawning points in the zone. We decided to kill her when she saw me, successfully messed me and had me attack my friend. Soon there after a monk ran by who tried to help out. She then mezzed my friend and together we polverized this porr monk. fortunetly he feinged death and live and the mezz broke and we recked her. But i still can't believe she mezzed me at such a higher level then her.
During a train I once saw a negotiator charm 2 necros, 1 warrior(me), and 1 magician. The necros and magician all had pets. the negotiator had her own pet also so with the pc pets she had 8 pets. charm didn't break for 5 minutes and we ended up killing 5 people. when someone became uncharmed that person was killed by the other pets. I was the last to uncharm so I got away safely.
this mob might spawn in the deep castle, but it also has a tendancy to wander as far as the gorge near the zone. On the other hand, I've seen REALLY strange ways to take it down. For example: I once zoned in to find the nego with a hapless lvl 27 ranger undertow... I stood out of visual range of the nego, and cast dispel on the ranger... viola! he didnt stick around to see if i could then fry the nego... but another lvl 38 ranger zoned in and helped. it only took 2 of us... the trick is to DOT it immensely, and dont let up. It has VERY poor hp for a lvl 33 mob. even if u zone, your dot stays. zone back, repeat, leave. I just happened to be the one in the zone when it died... and it's exp blows :)
I got charmed deep into the castle, well too far for a level 26 who logged into a train. Man i was charmed for 5 minutes, i was dead scared. I would have much preferred to have started attacking those around me, that might have been more funny, and less scarey. I was charmed anothertime in west freeport and i started to attack a high level player who was medding. [i thought someone had hacked my account i didnt know what was happening hehe]. I was pleading with him but he still killed me anyway :(
I hate enchanters hehe, man these guys scare me a lot. I created the hugest train running out of the castle, thankfully for everyone considered i didnt get near the zone, i was too busy LOH to even shout TRAIN!! so i can understand how this happens.
The Negotiator spawns in the castle, in the ambassador room. It's quite a problem taking the spawn in there, and not really worth it -- neither of them drop anything, and tower/pit/jail exp is much better.
Npc do not follow the same rule as PC's. She can charm as much as she likes basically. Evil Eyes can do the same thing...I once fought one that had a pet thinking "Oh, he can't charm me he has a pet" and my friend and I attacked the eye ( it was white to me yellow to him ) well...I got charmed and beat the heck out of my friend till he zoned...as soon as the charm broke I gated. That was the end of that.
What I want to know is how she can have more than 1 pet at a time??? A PC Enchanter can only have either 1 summoned pet or 1 charmed pet... She seems to be able to have as many as her heart desires... I know this cause she had 5 of us charmed at the zone while she still had her pet...
Well i guess not she can charm a bunch i was once near zone when some high lvl trained her and she charmed like 4 people and made them all beat the snot out of everyone.. not all npc have same rules as we do.
I saw some poor monk get dragged deep into the castle when one of these came out with a train.
Poor guy was in his twenties and got charmed, I didn't hang around to see what happened to him. This is because I was charmed first and ended up killing three people before the spell broke and I ran my *** out of there.
...for her. She is an enchanter and she likes to charm. If she gets you as part of a train you are likely to end up in the castle and dead shortly thereafter.
