Since the freeport revamp, go to north ro desert, the 2 guards outside conned red at 41 but they don't see invis. Once you zone in freeport you see guard orpheen (lvl 29) and guard zeph (lvl 37) at the gate. Unless you split pull they'll come as a pair but they're manageable. No roamers while I was there, pretty straight forward
From what I found on here, here's a list of the sub lvl 40 guards who drop the helms if you want to get darkforge before you're 50+.

Camped the three low level guards in N Ro for 2 hours and never saw a single helm. Then I tried the two guards just inside East Freeport from N Ro and each dropped the helm on first kill. And they seemed to be even lower level than the N Ro guards. This was on Tunare/7th Hammer.
This! I camped the guards at west freeport (by pok stone), took almost 15 minutes each, and only manager to kill 2 with zero helms. i go inside east freeport via north ro and kill those two and both dropped a helm first try. I would go here before anywhere else.
Easiest way is to kill Runthar in East Freeport. Available on Brewell maps. Level 30, dropped helm.
Can also drop off Sir Lucan D`Lere himself

Also dropped off of Guard Vinam for me today outside West Freeport.
west freeport militia house is near zone line, the two guards out front each dropped a helm when killed and were gray to 69.

I killed Guard Zeph and Orpheen at the zone to N Ro from East Freeport 3 times at about 10-15 mins in between pops. They both dropped a helm the 3rd kill. They're very light green to grey to my 56 SK.

I thinked its nerfed cuz gards wont let you land a hit,spell,or song and are imure to snares and roots
The guards at the front gate seem to be like that now.
Try the ones inside, near militia house, or there is one near the arena that lots are getting it from now.

There is a Guard Fikus and Guard Fralldo in front of the Freeport Militia House in East Freeport, loc -1039, +387 that dropped the helms. Also most of the guards inside the House. Just beware of the wandering militia patrols.

I play on the Combine progressive server and with the new freeport the only place I found to find guards that weren't Red at 48 was right inside east freeport from North Ro.... There are 2 guards there one was blue to me at 48 (Guard Zeph), but he still put up a good fight. The other was green to me and not as tough. They didn't drop the helm everytime though.

after the change in Freeport has anyone got a bracer? I use to know a nice spot to wack the guards now its all diffrent and they travel in packs of like 8 =/

I believe these are also the helms used for the DF Helmet quest in Solusk Ro.
yeaup..component for a darkforge armor (helmet) needed eventually for SK epic or twinking..

I've killed Tolus and Reskin numerous times and have never seen this drop. I've also killed the two guards at the toll booth in WC a lot and still have yet to see this drop. Anyone know off of what guard(s) this might drop? Because I sure can't find em, and I sure need the faction raise with NFP!
The easiest to me is the one i find in east freeport at the docks...he's alone and if you pull to the corner with darkness and fear he is easy or get a friend to buff you and out tank him hes dark blue to me at 52 and hits for mostly 80's and 90's with one or 2 over 100. and is a pretty common drop

The Guards that drop these are the Freeport Guards strolling around in the middle of East and West Freeport. The drop rate on them are fairly common... you shouldn't have trouble getting them...the real trouble comes from making spells hit your targets and the hard hits from them

who says freeport is the main city in norrath?some people belive diffrent city's are.for the faction,u can get your faction bck up by killing the deathfist orc's.
i turned in two helms and my faction with paladins went up from amiable to warml, while faction with milita stayed at indiferent

Hey, are there really Militia guards who are 15th lvl?The only ones I've seen are in 30's range levelwise.

There is a lvl 16 in Efp... but I wouldnt try and take him at lvl 15... especially with the adds u can get... they will wipe u out..
