Be warned that doing quests for the Warriors guild will lower your faction with the Rogues and that the Banker in Halas is a member of the Rogues Guild. Turning in Blackburrow Gnoll Fangs to Lysbith McNaff is the normal way to raise faction with the Wolves of the North, but at the cost of Rogue faction.
85 Gnome SK. started at threateningly. Lysbith McNaff Still allowed me to hand in Gnoll Fangs. My logs show I did the task 15 times at 15 point gain each for 225 points to get to dubious. 14 times ( 210 points) was not enough to get out of KOS. 15 times 3 = 45 fangs. that's all it took.

Yes, threatening does mean you'll be KoS, even if you get to the stage where they /con green to you.
I've looked through all of the quests listed here and it seems like it will be hard to raise Wolves faction without going to Halas.
Maybe you could go into Neriak and kill one of the many NPC's whose death will raise Wolves faction. Of course, that won't help you if you're a Dark Elf... :)
Alternatively, you could go near the zone between Greater Faydark and Butcherblock and repeatedly kill the Ebon Mask spy. He's only lvl 10, but a faction hit is a faction hit. The good thing about this kill is that you can avoid aggro's because he spawns alone. I killed him naked and weaponless with my Dark Elf SK, just to see what happened. His head is used for a quest, although I'm not sure what faction changes the quest has.
yes barbarians do not like the wolf forms. and i found this out when a druid group wolfed and i walked in the village near the wk/q hills zone ! dont ware your wolfy round the barbarians.. i have always been able to go to halas. wood elfs arent kos there less you been killiing barbarians. :P
well were do u find out how your faction increases from kos, dubious, appresive, indifferent, amible, is it then warmly or kindly, before u get to ally? seems lots of players in the game have a very hard time telling which comes first? have searched and either i am missing it or there is no list in order? Honeydu 55 preserver Terris -Thule.
Scowls at you Ready to Attack - KOS Glares at you Threateningly - Possible to run by NON stop running. (I've done it many times) Looks appon you Dubiously - NON KOS!!! But won't talk/sell ect. Some quests can be done from behind NPC now though! A LOT of them can. Apprehensively Indifferent Amiably Kindly Warmly Ally - A thing to be proud of.
That's the list factions go in.

i have been doing a lot of factioning lately to get my renegade drow warrior liked by the good races. from killing crushbone orcs on faydwer, kobolds on odus, orcs and gnolls on antonica, plus the Amulet quest in Shadowhaven, i have watched the following faction changes:
i have also seen my indigo brotherhood faction go in the opposite direction. i am max ally with emerald warriors and max ready to attack to indigo brotherhood.
Yeah, your hurting from killing all those Crushbone orcs. Bad move in my oppinion. Try killing the Aqua Goblins in Butcher Block. That's what I've done. I'm 100% ally to Guards of Neriak, and I'm Looked apon warmly to ally with the good races. Aqua Goblins give great loot 3pp for specific item dropps, and only good faction hits. Well WELL worth the time. Good Luck!

While traveling through Kithicor with my Human Shadowknight, I came across one of these. It conned light blue to me at level 17. Being a curious sociopath, I of course attacked and killed it. Lo and behold it raised my Wolves of the North faction. Since then, if I see one of these, I drop them as quickly as possible (unless it's night-time and the undead are out). So far I haven't seen any information on these things, but every little bit of faction boost helps. So far, there has not been any negative faction hit when I have killed one, so they are good for that at least.
After you have thoroughly destroyed your Hall of Ebon Mask faction... (If you care) then just kill Guard Gonin and Guard Kyte in Butherblock Mountains. They will raise the faction for you.
Ok... I am a Dark Elf Wizard worshiping Solusek Ro...
I started out 'Scowling' to Wolves of the North.
I was spinning my wheels by killing Giz Dinree whenever I could (E. Freeport near docks at night only)... Then I found Molon T`plth and Spice. They are both in Neriak 3rd gate and on the Hall of Ebon Mask faction. I have killed Giz Dinree at least 100 times and moved to Threateningly...
Then I discovered that anyone on Hall of Ebon Mask will give you the + Wolves of the North faction. So I moved to Nek 3rd Gate and killed the two at the Maiden's Fancy. Molon is on about a 4-5 minute spawn time and will always be in the same spot. Spice, I only saw 7 times (Ogre in basement of Maiden's Fancy). So I just camped those two and of course Ratraz for the loot and exp. This is the "best" since you can get about 12 to 15 faction +'s an hour. Giz only spawns 3 times each EQ night so that is 3 faction +'s in about 1 1/2 hours.
The tricky part is getting into Neriak. There are lots of mobs you can kill to raise your faction with DreadGuard Outer. Also do the red wine quest in the Dark Elf library. Get in there and then have a friend invis you and hand in 4 stacks of 4 red wines to Lokar Tobiath. That will raise Dark Bargainers (DE Merchants), Dreadguard Inner and DreadGuard Outer. If not these paths to raise your faction... then do a little research.
I wound up being Dubios to Wolves of the North after maybe 220 or so combined kills of Molon, Giz and Spice. Didn't keep that accurate of track. Then I turned in about 6 stacks of gnoll teeth to Lysbin and am up to amiable. HOPE this helps.
as an ambitious rogue of the Tier-dal persuasion i was wondering if the polar bear skins quest with Cindl can actually work to get you out of KOSdom. Since she's a merchant shouldn't she be at dubious faction to you, then sneak/hide behind her to get to indiff and turn in the bear skins? i'm sure it would take tons of skins to do it but is this a workable option for people who are too KOS for any of the other quests to raise your faction (not counting the bag in freeport thing...then again there's that KOS ogre standing next to her....)
You don't have to sneak to turn in Polar Bear Skins and Wrath Orc Wristbands to Cindl. She will accept them and you will get the exp/faction even at dubious. I have been doing that quest off and on with my iksar necromancer (who started out dubious to Halas Merchants). You have to sneak past the guards, and have a quick escape in case that damned Andres McMarrin wanders too close to the shop and smells you in there, but otherwise, this is a working quest for anyone to raise Wolves of the North faction.
I have a 30 iksar monk, and it seems impossible to escape being KOS with steel warriors and Wolves of the North... I don't really want to become KOS to the freeport militia considering how many goblin ears it took to become dubious. Is there any way? The teeth quest would be great if i didn't have to run a gauntlet of guards to hand them in. It's a pity that killing orcs doesn't help with steel warriors, or that factions aren't linked; my "knights of truth" is kindly from all the orcs i've killed.
You can be non kos with them, there are about 5 or so npcs(easiest being lvl 16) and one quest that doesn't involve you visiting a kos barbarian. That's all. :)
Uh, I hate to say it faniine, but you are wrong. I have been camping Giz Dintree for the last 8 hours killing her when she pops. I have been KOS forever to wolves, now i am only threatening (yay).
It has given me an excellent opportunity go work on my fishing and my baking skill for my Coldain Prayer Shawl quest.
Catch fish, combine with sauce -- hoala!
In any case, Giz gives
+ Wolves of the North + Guards of Qeynos + Guardians of the Vale + Carson McCabe - Ebon Mask
She is the *only* reasonable way i know to raise wolves until you get to indifferent.
Kill Giz Dinree (16ish Darkelf rogue off the Freeport Docks at night) for WolvesofNorth among others. Afterward you can do the tooth quest with the warriors guild in Halas for the other Halas factions(except rogues) and SteelWarriors.
The downside, she only spawns 2 or 3 times a night if you kill here as she spawns.
To repair EbonMask(neriak rogues guild) the only faction that takes a Hit for killing her, kill Guards Goninn and Kyte in Butcherblock Mountains.
I have heard that Halas is one of the factions that is impossible to raise. Being a DE, there is no loss in Killing the Pup? Is there another reason not to kill this pup for the Fish? (Being a DE, I cannot give the Regurg Potion to him anyway because of the low faction -- OR does faction not matter when trying to make the pup vomit the fish up?
We aren't completely KoS. I went through Halas for a quest and everyone conned apprehensively to me. They didn't like me that much...just simply unsure of me. =)
I can attest to the fact that Druids are definitely KOS in Wolf Form in Halas/Everfrost. My lvl 24 WoodElf Druid was in Everfrost yesterday helping a friend who is a Barbarian, and I was fine in regular form. I was talking to Tundra Jack about Iceberg (his pet), and earlier had Snowflake show me the way to Megan O'Reilly. However, once I changed into Wolf form...Tundra Jack came running back from where ever he had walked off to earlier and took me out in 5 hits!
Hehe, I was bound at the mill in Lake of Ill Omen at the time, but fortunately was able to teleport to Northern Karana where I SoW'ed and Camo'ed myself for the corpse run back to Everfrost. I would have never imagined Wolf form being KOS to the Wolves of the North had I had not experienced it first hand.
If you want to raise faction with the brotherhood kill woodelf slaves in Crush bone. Only way I know of, unless you want to try and track down the few npc's that run around the swamps near the guk entrance.
Yes, she gives good faction (the only thing I have found in game to do so) with the barbs and guards in Everfrost and Halas... went from KOS there to apprehensive in about 10 kills of Giz...she begins spawning at about 9pm nightly, and every three hours or so after being killed, she respawns (gametime)...she is replaced by barb fisherman at 6am daily.
There is a dark elf outside the docks of Freeport that can be killed for faction with the Wolves. Problem is that I've killed her many times, at least 25 or 30 and still am just amiable with my own guards (and never did anything to anger them). But if you want to try Giz, she spawns out at night out where the fisherman is during the day on the shore of the ocean. If you're standing on the docks of Freeport facing out to the water, swim out to the right and onto the strip of land. The fisherman will despawn at dusk and a bit later Giz will appear. She is a rogue and appears to be maybe level 20, but that's just a guess, she's been green to me since I started hunting her around lvl 28. She is of Ebon Mask faction but killing her gives the positive faction message with the Wolves, with good Qeynos guards and with Rivervale guards...maybe Freeport too, I'm not sure. But again, after killing her many times I haven't yet seen a change. If you get her right as she pops and keep killing her as soon as she appears you can get her to pop as many as four times in the night before the fisherman appears during the day.
