The Halas Rogue Guild, this faction is affected by doing quests in the rest of Halas with the exception of the Shamen guild. The Rogue Guildmaster is Dun McDowell leads the Guild in quiet neutrality, not supporting or hindering any other factions.
Of interesting note is that the Banker in Halas holds this faction, and if you do many of the quests offered by the warrior and merchant guilds, you will be unable to bank in Halas.
The class weapon quest given by Conladen Kevellian is easy farmed with decent droprates for all four pieces (wiped out most of Blackburrow and got enough for three turn-ins) and none are lore, even stack for some. It gives +30 faction per turn-in. Very beneficial considering most class weapon quests give only +10 or the drops/spawns for the drops are incredibly rare.
Ok I know your all going to say no it isn't. But then I would like to challange anyone here to reading this to try and improve this faction as a necro today now that illusion potions no longer affect faction and the invisibilty while handing in trick no longer works. I tried to do the rogues other job quest and I get killed every time. Read my post under that quest link. If you are kos to the rogues, today as of May, 2006 it is impossible to improve this faction. Please someone prove me wrong.
if they don't physically attack you, you can hand, but not hit trade. Then someone invis you, then you hit trade.
There is also a timing trick with hide, or hotkeyed fd. initiate the trade. During the split second before the trade window opens, hit one of those hotkeys.

My toon is a shadowknight gnome who worships Bertoxxulous, and he started out as "glares" with White Rose. No combination of barbarian illusion, invis, charm and various enchanter spells would allow him to do the either gnoll fur nor the mammoth hide quests..including the trick of getting invised while the Give window is open. These two quests seem to require that /con be at least "indiff" but I have not yet verified that, as I am still unable to do them (I am "apprehensive" at this point in time). A barbarian illusion potion made my toon "dubious", and the enchanter spells that I got from my guild leader did not seem to have any effect. Invis made him "indiff" of course, but invis would break during the turn-in. And like I mentioned, the invis-while-giving trick would not work for some odd reason.
So I decided to do the "White Rose Other Job" quest, as posted elsewhere. My toon did not have to drink an expensive illusion potion to do this safely while "glares", he simply went behind the bank and stood behind Conladen, outside of the wooden platform/fence that the NPCs are standing on. He did have to get a couple Growth spells thrown on him though, cause he was not tall enough to hand in the turn-ins from there (no laughing please).
Although my guild leader threw some enchanter spells (including Collaborate) on my toon, I don't think they had any affect. What DID work was using the invis-while-giving trick (did not work with other NPCs, but did work Conladen...hmmm...). After 4 turn-ins, my toon was "dubious". After 16 more turn-ins, he was apprehensive.
In looking at all this, I figure that my toon started off as 100 points into "glares", and that these turn-ins are worth 25 points each. I say this because it seems (for this toon anyways) that his normal beginning faction level for alot of factions is 100 points into "glares". It took 100 gnoll kills in lfay to change his Rivervale factions to "dubious", 100 runnyeye warbead turn-ins to change his Kaladim factions to "dubious", about 100 Cindl polar bear turn-ins to change Steel Warrior/Wolves of the North to "dubious", etc.
Faction correction: Wish I had read "All factions have changed now killing all listed ppl will no longer raise your white rose faction I tried them" before I tried killing Teria O'Danos. Confirmed that on Nov 20, 2003, killing her has no effect on Rogue faction but it does lower the other three Halas factions.
There are now Barbarian Rogue newbie quests, given out by a male Barbarian standing next to the two guildmasters behind the bank.
The weapon quest in this series gives a boost to this faction, and can be done at Dubious. With this quest it is possible to get your faction with these folks high enough to do any of their other quests.
is it just me or does it seem like a major pain getting and keeping good faction in halas? Ya end up pissing someone off to please another. With no mobs to kill and them taking away the ablity to trade inviso i am wonder how i should gather faction or if i should even bother and just port to a more friendly place. Was planing on hunting mammos for plat in a few lvls with my druid, any sujestions?
It is not as bad as it used to be as doing quests for the Shaman guild *used to* lower your White Rose faction. Nowadays it is pretty easy to keep this faction from slipping while increasing your faction elsewhere in Halas.
When someone said "kill lots of gnolls" to raise this faction, they may have been refering to the Gnoll Fur Bundle Quest. To do this, combine 4 patches of gnoll fur (stackable) in a sewing kit to get a gnoll fur patch (stackable). The combine 4 of these to get a gnoll fur patch quarters (not stackable). Then, combine 4 gnoll fur patch quarters to get a "Gnoll fur bundle" (AC 4, sv col +5, back slot, wt. 4.0) and give that to the woman in the upstairs of the bank.
You must at least be high indifferent (my barbarian shaman was able to do this once and go to amiable). If you are low indifferent (sorry ... no way to tell ahead of time) then she will take the patch and you get nothing. This will increase your faction and once you are amiable you can do the mammoth calf hide quest for faction.
I don't know the effect of illusion potions on your faction yet, but my enchanter was able to use Barbarian Illusion and Alliance to get enough faction to do this.
For the most part, getting good faction in Halas is easy: Kill *lots* of Gnolls. You get faction not only for killing Gnolls, but also for turning in Gnoll Teeth (3 at a time) to the Warrior woman in the Pit of Doom.
The problem is the Langseax Quest. The Langseax is a good weapon for a newbie, and the Langseax of the Wolves is a better 2HS, too; both lower faction with the White Rose. I had to stop doing the quest when my faction with them dropped to Dubious so as not to lose my banking privilages.
OTOH, my faction with the Shaman and the Wolves of the North is kindly and I am amiable with all of the merchants.
In closing: Faction with most of the groups in Halas isn't hard to improve. But it *is* hard to improve White Rose faction.
Killing Gnolls won't actually get you any faction in Halas I'm afraid. It will get you nice ammounts of faction with Qeynos Guards, and the Jagged Pine Folk however...
The only main way to get ya faction up in Halas with the majority of people is to hand in huge numbers of Polar bear pelts / Orc wristbands to Cindl...
This will improve your standing with Halas merchants, Shaman and the Warriors (Wolves of the North). The latter being the guards for the town... so rather useful. You will however as the above post describes get faction with the Wolves of the North for handing in gnoll fangs in either Qeynos or Halas. Personally I'd do them in Qeynos and follow up by using the lightstones you get in return to do the lightstone hand ins there too...
#ZELLGODDESS,
Posted:Apr 28 2003 at 2:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) little hit! this is rogue faction only way to git it is to start with it cuse you need to be ambly to do any of the quest wich there is only 2. thay are the gnoll fur and mammy caif hides wich both requre your faction at ambly so if you are not a rogue barbarian forget about it cuse the only way to get the faction is to kill 9 npc in halas all above level 30 and most near level 50 guards so best bet is to just leave the rogues alone.
Well, now I know where they got the idea for <Order of the Black Rose>, a rogue only xteamer guild on Vallon Zek. (another odd guild is Amazons, female lighty only)
How do I get the rogues guild to accept my mammoth hides and give me faction? I gave the rogue 8 skins which he accepted as a donation but i got nothing in return.
Unless one is amiable or higher already, the quest giver will eat the items.
Classes/Races which can sneak may Bank, but not raise their RotWR faction- except by killing other "good" NPC's which has a negative impact on many other hard-won factions.
Just a suggestion for anyone trying to do the gnoll fur quest to increase faction w/ the rogues. Check all of the Halas vendors(when I've done this I've gotten about 20 patches) before going to kill gnolls and while killing gnolls auction to buy em. Should save you some time in collecting. Good luck!
P.S.-When I said all of the vendors I do mean all-including the ones who sell spells in the shaman guild....never know where one is going to sell their patches.
I ahve killed the Barbarians in Karana and Frostbite. The only faction cahnge is that the REST of Halas will hate you. The Rogues included. Do not kill Barbarians to raise your faction. There are now 2 quests that can be completed in Halas to raise your faction. One is the Mammoth Calf Hide Quest which you (unfortunately) need good standing to complete in the first place. The other is the gnoll fur bundle armor. You need something like 140 gnoll furs and a good tailoring skill to complete it, and i don't know if it is do-able by anyone since I ain't no tailor =P Hope that helps.
It is true that you cannot increase your faction with the rogues by the old quests (brewing book and head handing part of Langseax quest) nor by killing any NPCs. When Verant removed the faction hits from Halas to prevent people doing what we did (stuff it up by doing all newbie quests) they did the same with faction increases. As stated, no NPC's death increases Rogue of the White Rose faction, however beware, you can still lower it up by killing the rogue from the Langseax quest or any other barbarian rogues for that matter (at least this is also true of the rogues in Lake Rathe behind the orcs). Now lvl 46, whenever I need to make a couple of backpacks of potions (SoW, shrink, IVU, etc.) for friends and alts, I need make sure I have enough money (a couple of 1000's) and room in my inventory so as not to have to have to run to South Qeynos (5 zones away).
All factions have changed now killing all listed ppl will no longer raise your white rose faction I tried them :( Doing quests in halas will no longer lower you rogues with white rose faction
Ruined my faction with these guys from doing quests with the shamans and warriors of halas (Namely the Langsax quest) now all of a sudden i cant go to the bank in halas, but thats ok, cause chances are now that im 15th level i wont have to go back to halas for a while =-)
i have been searching for months on how to repair faction with the halas banker. he is a rogue of the white rose. now kos in my homeland, and the faction hits have changed, but too late for me. this is unfair, and should be made a way, by quest or mob to raise faction with the rogue banker in halas ........please help
If you group with someone that has good standing and do the calf hide quest a couple of times you faction should go up enough so you can do the quest on your own
Grouping for quests doesn't work, or at least it hasn't for me in well over a year now. You get the experience if you're close enough to the person completing it but not the factions.

Killing Frostbite cuurently does nothing for the White Rose faction, good or bad. May be bugged, but hurt my Warrior/guards/merchants of Halas faction pretty bad just by killing Frosbite once.
kill cindl the merchant who wants polar bear skins and wraith orc wristbands to raise your faction she is level 45 but hits hard might say she was 55 malee! also she is about the only one ya want to try killing cuse of guards she is the only mob you can kill for this faction that isnot near a guard sept one but he would beat your tail lol!
The post above is old and there has been a change. Killing those barbarians at the fishing village in Western Karana will not raise your faction with the rogues in Halas anymore. It does ruin your faction with a variety of groups, however.
