It's still 50...I'm using it now...yup...still 50 :p

Girplan Geomancer ~ 100 mana
Elite Kyn Hunter ~ 80 mana
a discordling taskfiend ~ 150 mana
Dragorn Battlemaster ~ 90 mana
Definately isn't giving much for these OOW mobs I spotted while camping Girlplans.
Recast time of 20 ticks.
Say you get 100 mana, thats 50 mana per ten ticks.
Do the math, and you have an about 8 regen per tick.
Wheter or not this is worth a slot in OOW sees questionable.
However....aAt level 66, my mana regen is about 50 per tick. so adding 8 to that increases by 16%

Ok with the latest nerf (you get the mana the npc actually has, but no more than 400) at lvl 70 this is a complete and utter joke.
Compare it to Mind Wrack, which does not have this limitation of only getting the mana the npc has, but the full amount.
3: Decrease Mana by 300
Recourse Effect: Mind Wrack Recourse
7: Increase Mana by 75 per tick (lasts 4 ticks without AA's)
Recast Time: 60
Granted - this one is a costly spell (600 mana), but it's really costing only 300 mana, since the first shot tops your mana by 300, and you really need to x6 the 300 mana over time since it's a group spell, so in effect necros can group tap 2100 mana total for 600 mana regardless of the mobs actual mana.
Or - God Forbid - should you compare this to Inruku's Bite (SK, lvl 67) = Inruku's Bite Recourse
7: Increase Hitpoints by 260
8: Increase Mana by 130
Recast Time: 60
Cost: 260 mana
This is regardless of npc's mana, remember?
And they say Enchanters are the masters of the mind. Don't make me laugh.

I've had this spell for several years. Some things I've noticed about it are strange.
1: Post Kunark mobs you don't get the full effect from the drain. Take for example Alchemist Granik (sp)..the iksar that sits outside the evil outpost in OT. You drain him and you get just about the full 400 mana from it. Go to any mob in luclin or pop and you barely get anything.
2: Now that OoW came out I checked to see if it was the same. It was....with the exception of Dranik's Scar. The mobs in DS for some reason DO let you drain the full 400 mana from them.
Don't know why it does this or why just in pre-luclin and dranik scar they let you drain the full amount. Possible broken spell. I don't know. But with EVERY mob in OoW flagged as caster and necros and chanters able to mana tap them, it does give you a way to get mana back a bit quicker.

Yes, this spell does give the drained mana to the caster, hence the low mana cost (25, I believe). It's basically a mana tap. If it was simply a mana drain, the mana cost would be higher.

This spell is researchable using yaeth's compendium page 61 left and right plus a quill and piece of parchment in a Phantasmal tome which can be picked up in Gunthak near the light house. does that mean you get mana from them as you take it from them? like as in necro life tap only with HP?
It takes mana from your target and gives it to you so, LOM? Use this and you'll get some back.
Now for the fun stuff.
I use this and Skryer's Tresspass on MEZ'd casters in LDoN. They do NOT break mez.
