This group mission begins with Dedire Harath (click for map image) on the zone-in level of the Tower of Rot.

Summary & Requesting the Task

Say "final attack" to request the task and "start" to zone in.

- Hail Captain Deidre Harath at the zone-in.
- Make your way down the ramp, killing the two tower scions on the way down.
- DPS Fenn Tarrens to 25% health, then click on the blockade.
--- Casts "Dagger Barrage" (60' range AE for 17K dmg).
--- Casts "Tendon Slice" (negates dodge + avoidance).
- Make your way to the bottom of the ramp, killing tower scions along the way.
- Task LOCKS upon location update at Adana.
- DPS Adana Baxter to 25% health.
--- Casts "Splash of Acid" (single-target 6-second blind, cureable by sitting).
--- Casts "Mana Scorch" (single-target dispell + mana burn up to 15K hp dmg).
--- The scions behind her cast nukes on random targets (3k per nuke).
--- These three scions become aggroable after Adana flees.
- Make your way towards the heart, killing tower scions along the way.
- Say "interruptions" to make Narius aggro.
- DPS Narius to 50% health.
--- Casts "Life Siphon" (dispellable lifetap effect).
--- Casts "Wither" (increase incoming damage by 25% + DOT for 6,000/tick for 18 seconds).
--- Adana and Fenn (non-aggroable at this time) cast their "Mana Scorch" and "Dagger Barrage" spells.
- Once Narius reaches 50%, he goes non-aggro; Adana and Fenn attack.
- Kill Adana and Fenn, after which Narius re-aggros.
- Kill Narius.
- Hail Captain Deidre Harath, who runs down to the entrance of the heart area after Narius' death.
- Open the chest to complete.

You say, 'Hail, Deidre Harath'

Deidre Harath says 'The door's open, and the way is clear. I've sent the guards I can spare down to keep an eye on the door. Can you lead the [final attack]? If there is anyone you can gather up, it would be a huge help, I'm sure.'

You say, 'I'll lead the final attack'

Deidre Harath says 'I wish I could go with you on your way down, but we'd leave ourselves too vulnerable. I'll send what aid I can, but this is going to mostly on your shoulders. You've got our lives in our hands. Best of luck. Let me know when you want to [start].'

Captain Harath has asked you to investigate what the Scions of the Tower are doing in the basement of the Tower of Rot. Rumors say that there is some sort of monstrous heart down there and the cultists have been talking about it. She insists that the Scions need to be cleared out of the tower and that you should not spare them a moment's pity. She needs to know what they are up to down there.

I need you to find out what's going on and see if you can find this massive heart that the rumors speak of. Clearly some of those Scions have been here too. That proves that they are involved in this, if not behind this whole mess. I expect you to deal with them harshly when you encounter them. If you need to [leave], I can assist you.'

Clear the area of opposition 0/19 (Tower of Rot)

This step updates as you progress through the task. Just kill "a scion of the tower" as you come across them while moving through the zone.

Locate the rumored massive heart 0/1 (Tower of Rot)

This location updates at Fenn Tarrens, a short distance down the ramp from the zone-in. Adana Baxter appears there as well, but leaves Fenn's side:

Fenn Tarrens says 'Well, it looks like the screams we heard weren't just those bootlickers seeing shadows. This doesn't look like a real problem, but you might want to go warn the boss anyhow.'

Adana Baxter says 'Sure. But make sure to kill a few before you die. We don't have the time to deal with this right now.'

Fenn Tarrens says 'Get out of here Adana before I kill you too.'

Adana Baxter smiles. 'As you say.'

Fenn Tarrens says 'You over there, come along then. I have to kill you quick so I don't miss the fun downstairs.'

Defeat Fenn Tarrens 0/1 (Tower of Rot)

Fenn Tarrens casts "Dagger Barrage" (60' range AE for 17K dmg) and "Tendon Slice" (negates dodge and avoidance).

DPS Fenn Tarrens to 25% health to update this step:

Fenn Tarrens says 'What? The life shield! Well, I guess the boss doesn't want me to finish this, lucky for you. Good thing this shield makes me almost completely invulnerable. That will make my exit much more expedient.'

Just click the table at the blockade.

Find Adana Baxter at /loc 240, -140, -849 (bottom of the twisting ramp).

TASK LOCKS upon the location update.

Adana Baxter appears alongside three cultist mobs (non-aggroable; will proc 3K nukes on random targets while Adana is engaged):

Adana Baxter says 'You're not getting past me. The boss has his ritual to perform and I'm not about to let you interfere. I have too much riding on this. It's cost me too much.'

She casts "Splash of Acid" (single-target blind, stun, nuke for 6 seconds) and "Mana Scorch" (single-target mana burn, up to 15K HP dmg). DPS her to 25% health to update this step. Note that the scions with her become aggroable after she flees.

Adana Baxter says 'Well, I guess I've been called back to work. Get 'em, lackeys!' A magical shield envelopes Adana as similar shields fall off the scions.'

This updates at /loc 0, -45, -841 (just enter the platform area that houses the giant heart).

Confront Narius 0/1 (Tower of Rot)

Follow his dialogue to update the step ("interruptions" makes him go aggro).

You say, 'Hail, Narius Grandon'

Narius Grandon says 'Hello. So you are the intruders that my friends mentioned. I can only assume that you have been fighting with them because you don't [understand] what is going on here.'

You say, 'No, I don't understand...'

Narius Grandon says 'Of course, of course. You see, I've come here to heal this place. I've studied the arts of healing and of necromancy and, not meaning to brag, I have mastered them both. I am the only one that can repair the damage that has been done here. I can heal this heart, which will surely weaken the undead and their terrible [master].'

You say, 'Who is their master?'

Narius Grandon says 'His name is Kyle Bayle. All these undead are under his control. They pose no real danger to me, but clearly they are dangerous to others. It's impossible to know what his plans are, but he can't be trusted with such power. This tower needs to be healed and [control] of it wrested from Bayle and his undead.'

You say, 'Who would control it?'

Narius Grandon says 'I am probably the only one capable of understanding and harnessing the power that resides here. The Scions of the Tower have studied this place and battled to gain control of this room. We have sacrificed much to be here, and we have earned the [right] to take that power!'

You say, 'You don't have that right!'

Narius Grandon says 'You doubt me? Are you one of those that mock the Scions? Are you one of those that doubt that we will find the source of eternal life? Look here, upon this great heart. It exists in a state of eternal decay. I can reverse that state. I can make it a source of eternal life! And once I have obtained that power there will be no more doubters. You and your kind will have to understand the truth of the Scions, the truth of the Tower! Now leave this place immediately! I have no time for foolish [interruptions]!'

You say, 'Interruptions!'

Narius Grandon says 'Fine, I shall encourage you to leave.'

Eliminate Narius 0/1 (Tower of Rot)

Eliminate Fenn 0/1 (Tower of Rot)

Narius casts "Life Siphon" (dispellable lifetap effect) and "Wither" (increase incoming damage by 25% + DOT for 6,000/tick for 18 seconds). Fenn Tarrens and Adana Baxter (non-aggroable at this time) uses their "Dagger Barrage" and "Mana Scorch" abilities, respectively.

When Narius reaches 50% health, he goes non-aggro:

Narius Grandon shouts 'Enough! Fenn! Adana! Get over here and kill these heretics!'

Adana and Fenn attack. Adana is leashed to her spot. Each of them starts at 40% health, so it won't take long to deal with them. Once they're dead, Narius re-aggro's, and can be killed.

Narius Grandon has been slain by _____!

The remaining Scions flee:

a scion of the tower shouts 'Let's get out of here while the life shield lasts!'

Report the fate of the Scions of the Tower to Captain Harath 0/1 (Tower of Rot)

After Narius is killed, Captain Deidre Harath will run down from the zone-in, so it may take a bit before you see her. She stops at the entrance to the heart platform.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Deidre Harath'

Captain Deidre Harath says 'Thank you for your efforts. All of Norrath should be grateful for what you have done. It is time for us to [leave] this place, I think.'
