This task begins with Lady Carolline of Thex in Northern Felwithe. She is located at 0, -170 (on the balcony overlooking the entrance: you can use the Find Feature, CTRL+F, to get to her).

Initiating the Task

You say, 'Hail, Lady Carolline of Thex'

Lady Carolline of Thex smiles, trying to hide an obvious air of sadness, 'Greetings adventurer, such a lovely day isn't it?' The pained look on her face clearly gives away that something is [wrong].

You say, 'What's wrong?'

Lady Carolline of Thex says 'Wrong? Oh, nothing really. My beloved is off again on some [excursion] and has yet to return. I'm quite sure he will be fine though. How I miss our adventures together, the time we would spend exploring the hidden beauty of Norrath. We were especially fond of [Antonica].'

You say, 'Why were you fond of Antonica?'

Lady Carolline of Thex says 'A lovely land, despite the efforts of humans to ruin it...' The Koada`Dal's smile becomes more sincere. 'Lake Rathetear, oh the [stories] I could share of moonlit nights sitting on the docks. The noble aviaks keeping ardent guard over the sacred flame, the sunken towers and legend of the Megalodon...' She sighs and looks up to the sky.'

You say, 'What stories could you share?'

Lady Carolline of Thex blinks and looks back to you, her demeanor changing. 'Tell you what stranger, you come up with an [interesting tale] to distract me from my boredom, and I'll see if I can find something to [reward] you for your effort.'

You say, 'What reward would that be?'

Lady Carolline of Thex says 'Hmm, already pondering your riches before the effort of imagination? I suppose not many adventurers care to put any effort into their journeys these days.' The young high elf sighs. 'Anyway, what you will be rewarded with is something befitting a _____ such as yourself.'

You say, 'I have an interesting tale to tell'

Lady Carolline of Thex says, 'Something grand, truly epic and interesting! Just let me know when you've thought of a suitable story.'

You have been assigned the task 'An Epic Request'.

Be sure to carry your epic artifact with you!

You need lev or you will be flung off the chessboard.

I found that the emotes from the Judicator stop if you hit him with a weapon proc.
So if your bow procs a nuke (or an aug on your bow procs a nuke) use throwing to bring him down. I had to use throwing.

Set up a bandolier "NoShield" and "Shield"
"NoShield" has no weapons and your throwing items in Range and Ammo. You can use it to empty your hands so you can equip the Sword you get by disarming the Judicator. You don't want to bash during the first part with the Judicator.
"Shield" has nothing in your primary, a shield in your secondary, and your throwing items in Range and Ammo. Use this during the second part with the Judicator.

Your Riposte ability can cause you to Bash or Kick. These count in the event so you really want audio triggers to know what is happening. These are the ones I used.

Fighting the Judicator
Kick Perfect: The creature blocks your kick with its wing, but appears to be wounded.
Kick Mistake: The creature blocks your kick with its wing.

Taunt Perfect: The creature growls angrily, its fighting focus is disrupted!
Taunt Mistake: The clear-headed creature draws its hand back and strikes at you viciously!

Disarm Perfect: The creature staggers backwards as the blade falls from its hand.
Disarm Mistake: The creature's grip tightens around the hilt, despite your attempts to disarm it.

Bash Perfect: The creature hesitates to regain its balance, clearly disoriented from the blow.
(I did this one right, so don't know what the error message is)

Fighting the skeletons
The response is the same for bash, taunt and kick. There is no response for disarm.
Bash, Taunt and Kick Perfect: Dazed from the blow, the skeleton's grip on its weapon loosens.
Bash, Taunt and Kick Mistake: The skeleton's grip tightens around its weapon.

Fighting Suteng
Taunt Perfect: Suteng glowers down at you, eyes filled with hatred.
Kick Perfect: The ogre's body convulses in a violent fit of rage.
(I didn't make any mistakes here, so don't know if there is a message)

For disarm, I always saw the text "Your attempt to disarm failed." for both the Judicator and the skeletons, even when I got the sword from the Judicator and saw the skeletons lose their weapons.

For the Judicator, the first kick does not trigger an error or mistake - I waited for kick to refresh and kicked again, which gave me a Perfect. Follow that with taunt and disarm to get the sword on your cursor. Equip the sword and attack until he steals it again and flies off. For the second part, bandolier "Shield". Bash worked perfectly on the first attempt, followed by taunt and disarm. Bandolier "NoShield" then put the sword in your primary and attack.

You will have to sit for Suteng to be able to hurt you enough to get to the skeleton phase.

For the skeletons, the correct sequence is bash/taunt/kick/disarm. There is no success message for disarm, but if you skip it then the next bash is a mistake. I killed the skeletons just using that sequence without ever attacking.

For Suteng, the correct sequence is taunt/kick. I tried to kill him with just that sequence, but after 9 cycles I equipped my best weapons and attacked him. The weapons only do 1 point of damage, but that ended the fight.
Restart if you feel you've screwed up.

The write ups below are excellent but I was still having difficulty, so I'll try to simplify for a lvl 105-110 Warrior.

Have at least 1 Top level Inventory slot open before you start event (will be needed to store the 2HS Sword you pick up on the ground, as it won't fit in any bags, even giant sized bags).
Summon some arrows. Have a hotbar with the following discs ready: Kick, Bash, Taunt, Disarm.

1. Pick up the 2HS Sword on the chessboard ground to start event. Judicator of Narikor (Gargoyle) will take the sword away from you and take flight.
2. Use archery "/autofire on" to shoot down Judicator.
3. You will now have the 2HS that you wrestled away from the Judicator on your cursor. Place the 2HS in your top inventory slot, now bag your sword and board, now equip the 2HS to attack the Judicator and use the following discs in this continuous order: KICK, TAUNT, DISARM until Judicator once again takes the 2HS away and takes flight.
4. Use archery "/autofire on" to shoot Judicator down again and regain possession of the 2HS Sword.
5. Once on the ground, equip the 2HS on your cursor to attack Judicator. Now use BASH, TAUNT, DISARM until Judicator is again weakened and takes flight.
6. Use archery "autofire on" to shoot Judicator until 50% health or so, and the next part of the event start.

7. Suteng the Disgraced (Dark Ogre) will now attack you. There is no need to attack him. Turn around and sit down and let him beat you down below 50% which then starts the next part of the event.
You will be healed to full heath.

8. Arisen of Suteng (Skellies) will attack you. Attack them with your sword and board, and now use discs BASH, TAUNT, KICK, DISARM in this continuous order until it dies.
Rinse and repeat x 8. This should go fast.

9. Suteng the Disgraced (Dark Ogre) once again goes active. You can attack him with your sword and board. Now use TAUNT, KICK in this continuous order x 7 rounds, and the event ends with a WIN.

Bug
# Feb 09 2017 at 12:16 AM Rating: Default
There is a bug here where when you get to the second stage with the wraith/gargoyle, there is no emotes for Bash > Taunt > Disarm. It's as if those have 0 effect on him - no emotes indicating anything. Just the reminder that you need to figure out a way to beat him and he random goes back into he sky.

I did it multiple times and kept getting the bug. Finally, I decided not to cast ANYTHING detrimental with a duration on him. This means no debuffs or slows of any kind. So if you have a belt that procs slow or the Rot Vuln stick click, don't use them. That finally worked and I breezed right though. Who knows if that was the reason but that change worked first try.

Did this entire thing again and "The Lion" augmentation was not even offered or an option. Did this originally several years ago but heard about " The Lion " one recently so I did this again and none offered. Am I missing something here?

The following is the Warrior event which occurs when you physically inspect the chessboard in Butcherblock Mountains. Bold-Italics are additional information about how the event is performed, not actual lines of text that occur during the event.

There is something peculiar about this place today. You think back to your trip to Timorous where you obtained the dragon head hilt...
A Game of Strategy is now available to you. (A dynamic zone is automatically assigned to you.)
The wind begins to pick up as you cross the chessboard's threshold, bringing with it an air of change. As the breeze gains momentum, your surroundings begin to fade from view.
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Butcherblock Mountains.
Your mercenary has been suspended.
There are two aura effects that are placed on you while in the instance, seen in the Short Duration Buff Window.
Strategist's Plan: Suppresses the effects of damage shields and prevents twincast and riposte effects attacks from interfering with Tactician's Cunning.
Tactician's Cunning: Imbues your Bash, Bind Wound, Disarm, Kick, Ranged Attack, and Taunt skills with additional power, useful for defeating the challenges presented to you.
A weapon is laying on the chessboard in front of you. Run up to it and click to pick it up.
As you reach down to inspect the blade your body tenses up. You are unable to move!
Your mind and body are still. (You are mezzed while the script plays out.)
A dire screech fills your ears as a figure dives down from the sky toward the chessboard.
A fearsome war wraith grabs the damaged sword and takes to the sky. You'll have to find some way to get the beast down to the ground.
You are no longer stunned.
A Judicator of Narikor (LINK) must be knocked out of the sky using Throwing or Archery weapons to force it to engage you.
The wraith's wings seize up as it falls to the ground and charges after you!
To disable the wraith's mitigation and progress the event, you must use Kick -> Taunt -> Disarm skills in that order. You will probably need to perform two Kicks to start because every time I have done this quest, there is no success or failure message for the first Kick, it just doesn't register.
Kick
You begin casting Fierce Kick.
The creature blocks your kick with its wing, but appears to be wounded.
Taunt
You begin casting Call of Ire.
The creature growls angrily, its fighting focus is disrupted!
Disarm
You begin casting Disarming Strike.
The creature staggers backwards as the blade falls from its hand.
The sword is now on your cursor (LINK), it is a 2 Handed Weapon. Equip it and attack to damage the wraith.
Fueled by rage, the creature swipes the blade from your hands and takes to the skies.
You must knock the wraith from the sky again.
The wraith's wings seize up as it falls to the ground and charges after you!
This time you must use the Bash -> Taunt -> Disarm skills in that order. Equip the sword and attack the wraith again.
The creature grabs the blade from your grip before staggering away.
The land shakes as a roaring voice overwhelms your every thought, 'What is the meaning of this treachery, wraith?!' The familiar fear filling your soul assures you that this is the voice of Rallos. 'Take care of this pest at once!'
In the distance, an imposing figure takes form...
The ogre surveys the landscape and sets its sights on the wounded wraith and begins trudging toward the fallen creature.
A grin passes over the ogre's face as it nears the body.
Decorous General Ghral peers down at the mangled corpse and speaks, 'By order of the Warlord, you are stripped of your duties and will be banished to the depths of Narikor to suffer as those you've had the privilege of exiling!'
With steady hands, the general raises his blade, ready to strike.
An unfamiliar voice boasts out over the fallen general's gurgling, 'The game ends here, warrior! The Warlord's grasp on this world shall be broken.'
The general clutches the arrow protruding from his neck before crashing to the ground.
Your wounds begin to mend. You have been healed for 150199 points. (The event heals you.)
The irate shade lifts his heel and brings it down upon the general's skull. He laughs as he pulls his iron boot from the gore, while grabbing the general's shield and the wraith's blade.
Suteng walks toward the center of the chessboard with a smug grin spreading across his face, 'Yes, you're the one. I can sense it in you. Come dog; show me what your blades have afforded you!'
Suteng (LINK) engages you in combat. If you fight back, you do no damage to him.
The ogre laughs at your attacks feeble attacks. (A berserker frenzy may be in order!)
Allow Suteng to beat you down to 35-40% health. He will disengage, the event will mez and heal you.
Your body is encased in ice.
Suteng scans the area with a laugh, 'This miserable rodent? This is what you forsook me for? Show yourselves you cowards!'
Visions of endless battle flash before your eyes. The visage of the Warlord engulfs your mind, his voice is loud but seemingly distant, 'Arise! Today you fight for the army of Zek!'
The ice falls away from your body.
You are no longer stunned.
Your wounds begin to mend. You have been healed for 150199 points.
An Arisen of Suteng (LINK) spawns and engages you in combat. You must use the Bash -> Taunt -> Kick -> Disarm skills in that order to make the skeleton become vulnerable. Once disarmed, you can melee them to death using any weapon.
Bash
You begin casting Disorienting Slam.
Dazed from the blow, the skeleton's grip on its weapon loosens.
Taunt
You begin casting Call of Ire.
Dazed from the blow, the skeleton's grip on its weapon loosens.
Kick
You begin casting Fierce Kick.
Dazed from the blow, the skeleton's grip on its weapon loosens.
Disarm
You begin casting Disarming Strike.
Kill it. The death of the skeleton triggers a heal. The skeletons also have bandages to loot which you can use to heal yourself during the final fight with Suteng.
Suteng's ally cries out in pain as the skeleton collapses into a pile of still bones.
Your wounds begin to mend. You have been healed for 10199 points.
Repeat this process until the skeletons stop ambushing you. You must kill a total of 8 skeletons this way.
Suteng roars furiously and snaps the damaged blade in two. He takes a broken shard in each hand and winces as they cut into his flesh.
The broken halves begin to glow; a seemingly sentient miasma drifts from his hands and into the beings of the Rallosians. In a fit of violent spasms, they fall to the chessboard floor.
Suteng roars furiously as he sticks the broken blade shards into his own body. He shakes as flames consume his body, 'JoIN mE IN DeAtH! RAlLoS cAnNoT SaVE yOU nOW!'
Suteng engages you in combat once again. You must use the Taunt and Kick skills until he becomes enraged. If you are low level and Suteng does a lot of damage to you, now is a good time to use Fortitude Discipline or Flash of Anger. The bandages dropped by the skeletons will trigger a large heal if you use Bind Wounds on yourself.
Taunt
You begin casting Call of Ire.
Suteng glowers down at you, eyes filled with hatred.
Suteng the Disgraced's hatred grows.
Kick
You begin casting Fierce Kick.
The ogre's body convulses in a violent fit of rage.
Suteng the Disgraced's hatred grows.
Repeat, repeat, repeat...
Suteng is nearly consumed by rage.
Repeat, repeat
Suteng raises his fists in the air, preparing to land a death blow!
The mountains tremble as the Warlord makes his presence known. His axe hovers over his head as his cold steel hands radiate godly power. Suteng's darkened form erupts in a shower of ethereal blood, his soul shattered.
The Warlord surveys the battlefield and the ground below your feet begins to shake, but the avatar remains silent.
Your task 'An Epic Request' has been updated.
Your flawless combat should make for a more interesting telling of this tale.
Your vision darkens. The gentle breeze that brought you here, once again falls over the chessboard.
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
The instance automatically collapses and ejects you back to the chessboard in the static Butcherblock Mountains.

To clarify, An Epic Request is the same quest used for the An Epic Retelling achievement. The hidden achievement becomes available after completing An Epic Request twice. The only difference is when doing the class-specific event, where there are specifics you must do to earn the achievement, which aren't entirely required to just complete the quest.

Koryu is describing the class-specific event for the warrior. The Lion is the weapon ornamentation reward for warriors who successfully complete the An Epic Retelling achievement (selectable alongside the other "epic" ornamentation rewards)...technically, it's rewarded for completing the An Epic Request quest while meeting the criteria for completing the achievement... the achievement itself is earned after accepting the reward.

Correct. Information was previously provided about how to get through the Warrior Event but never moved into the actual quest. I figured that meant there wasn't enough detail, so I was looking to provide more info.

The way for Warriors to earn the Epic Retelling achievement is to perform their event with zero errors. That is the cause for the one-time emote at the end of the event: "Your flawless combat should make for a more interesting telling of this tale." The Warrior Event can be completed with errors (blundering through skill combos), but then The Lion ornament will not be an available reward option.

I am seeking confirmation about Suteng strategies. I have been attempting this event for the last two days and it's only resulted in immediate death with Suteng every time. Gargoyle and skellies are no issue whatsoever. I'm able to complete them flawlessly. It's Suteng that I'm having troubles with. After approx 15 deaths, I'm desperate for some guidance. Been spamming general chat on the FV server and no one has seemed to have done this. Here's what I've tried so far. I have attempted Suteng with buffs and with no buffs. I have tried with epic 1.0's equipped, epic 2.0 and a shield. I have tried the taunt and kick strategy (not attacking him). I have tried attacking him and taunting/kicking. I have popped the Furious Disc many times trying to prolong my death and it does absolutely nothing. I never once riposte and his hits go right through. I have tried kiting him around the chess board hitting all the "ranged" aggro abilities such as jeer, banzu buster, blast of anger, etc.. I've never once received any sort of update or indication that any of these abilities were doing anything, to include regular taunt and kick. Using the strategies listed above and in EQresources, the fight goes like this. Suteng approaches me (after killing the last skelly) and there is about a 2 second pause. He then attacks and I die in 2 rounds (about 2 seconds). I have initiated the fight using the taunt/kick strat and I have also waited for him to attack me first, where I hit the Furious (riposte) Disc followed by taunt/kick. The result is the same every time. He doubles-Quads me for 3400 damage per hit and immediately follows with a double 15k and 25k hit give or take, which is insta-death of course. After his attack starts, I last about 2.0 seconds literally. Not enough time to do anything other than taunt/kick and I'm looking at my corpse before I can bind wound, pop a heal pot, or even run away. This has happened to me 100% of the time in 2 days of 15 deaths and counting. I have changed strategies trying different discs or no discs. Nothing is working for me. Discs seem to do nothing at all. GM say's it's not bugged as there are warriors completing this quest recently. I am a lvl 85 warrior with HoT tier 2 armor. Roughly 6k AC unbuffed. Suteng appears to scale as he is an even con to me so I should be able to complete this. The rest of the event is easy-peasy. Any ideas? Please be very specific. It's probably a minor thing that I'm missing.
Problem on final fight

Well after wiping over 8 times on the final fight I thought i'd just add something that was possibly missed in previous comments.

My warrior was attempting this at 92 with almost full RoF gear at 75k hp and 7.4 ac. He had a full compliment of buffs and his Shield stance on. My first 8 tries he died within the first 5 seconds with Furious disc doing nothing at all, same with Flash of Anger.

After discussing with another warrior on my successful attempt i tried equiping my 1.0 epics (only ones i have at the moment) and taking off all buffs.

The next time he barely hit me at all and my block discs were working. I had a plenty of time to bandage also if i went below 90%, which was about twice.

I'm fairly positive it had to do with epics being equipped but possibly it was the buffs being taken off. Either way if you're having trouble like I did then give this ago, should make it a walk in the park.

Seems that removing all buffs worked for me. I was able to withstand the attacks and bandage myself when dropping below 90%. Did not have my epic 1.0 equipped but after 6 deaths of having every buff on I could think of, I attempted it with no buffs. Worked for me.

READ ME NOW FOR WARRIOR VERSION<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

To shed some light on this mission for everyone..
1) After grabbing the sword on the ground, shoot down the gargoyle with bow/throwing.

2) Use the above mentioned Kick > Taunt > Disarm on the first gargoyle phase. Dps it down to 75%. It will take the sword back and fly back into the air.

3) Shoot down the gargoyle again, this time use Bash > Taunt > Disarm. (Read the emotes, this is 100% Accurate, dont waste 15 minutes straight trying to kick/taunt/disarm it again like i did)

4) Go through watching the ogres, then undead will spawn and charge you. You can TAKE YOUR TIME with this, dont stress about hurrying to kill like everyone mentions. It means nothing. Use the above mentioned Bash > Taunt > Kick > Disarm, then melee it down as normal.

5) THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART that no one seems to understand. All of these skeletons DROP BANDAGES. Loot them all. THIS IS IMPORTANT.

6) After all skeletons have died, the ogre will charge you for the last time, hitting decently. Only use TAUNT AND KICK. Don't go crazy on taunt and kick, you CAN take your time. What I did was I used bind wound everytime I reached 90%. As long as your hp doesnt drop to 80%(guessing) or below, he WILL NOT HIT YOU FOR 30K+. The bind wounds will instantly heal you for 10k+. Instantly.

7) Enjoy winning EASILY and not dying over and over again because people dont realize you dont have to spam any discs or abilities. Just use bind wound..

Ok, here is some more accurate info as of today (Feb 9th, 2014). I just completed this and here is how I did it.

In order to get the expedition and zone in, you must be alone with no group. If you have a merc out, it will be suspended upon zoning in. The expedition and zoning in will happen automatically upon walking up to the chessboard.

Before you enter the chessboard event, be sure to have plenty of heal over time potions for your level. Upon zoning in, go click on the sword you find lying on the ground and this will trigger the event. You will be stunned immediately and a flying wraith (Judicator) will take the sword and fly in circles high above you. Simply shoot it with a bow or use throwing to make it come attack you. Follow my directions for this mob below exactly as I say or you will use more heal pots than needed and you will be dealing with a lot of knockbacks and not making any progress. Each time you are knocked back, you are also snared. (Levi helps decrease the knockback distance drastically, if you don't have levi you can purchase a Ball of Fluffy Cotton from the marketplace for 100sc which is only $1 in real money)

Now, once it attacks, unequip your weapon and shield and hit "Kick>Taunt>Disarm" in that order. This will disarm him and place his sword on your cursor. Equip the sword and beat him down, use a heal pot if needed. When he gets just below 75% he will take the sword back and fly up above again. Use your bow or throwing to make him attack you again and this time equip your shield and hit "Bash>Taunt>Disarm" in that order. This will disarm him again and place the sword on your cursor. Unequip your shield and equip the sword. You will need a bandolier setting that unequips your primary and secondary for you because with his sword on your cursor it will not let you unequip the shield since it is a 2hs, and it will not let you put the sword in your inventory to allow unequipping the shield. So be sure to have your bandolier open and ready to unequip that shield, and just manually equip the sword. Now you can beat him down again and this time he will FD and you'll be done with him. Now you may re-equip your weapon and shield you normally use.

Next you will see some Ogres spawn and walk to the board. The pure black ogre is the only one to worry about (Suteng). He will eventually agro you and you will not be able to hurt him. Just stand there and let him beat you down to just under 50% and he will walk away and you will be healed back to full after a brief moment, so don't be scared or waste heal potions on this part. Suteng and the other ogres will start fighting each other and you will be frozen briefly. Once the freeze effect wears off you will be attacked by 6 to 8 skeletons 1 at a time.

Very important, if you fail to disarm the skellies before killing them, the bad ogres may not die (the ones that spawned when Suteng came in) and one of them hits for 25k or better. So be sure to follow the instructions below to a tee.

Once the skellies attack, hit "Bash>Taunt>Kick>Disarm" in that order to disarm them. Once disarmed you can kill them. I used my normal weapon setup for each skelly and paid no attention to the other comments here about using various weapons, and they all died fast. Just be sure to use the skills in that order to disarm them before attacking and both of the bad ogres will die eventually, leaving only Suteng once all 6-8 skellies are dead.

Suteng will then grow taller and come back to attack you. Attacking him back will do you no good. The object here is to generate agro. Some of the comments here tell you to use all of your agro skills but pay no mind to that. I used only "Kick and Taunt" to complete this portion. Once he attacks, use your "Furious" discipline and then keep using Kick and Taunt over and over until your screen shakes and Suteng stops attacking, feel free to throw in a "Flash of Anger" after Furious wears off, or use a heal potion. You will see Rallos Zek appear after Suteng yields (and he is very huge). You are done now and have won the event! You will automatically be zoned back out and your task will update or give you the reward window if that was your last part of the epic request. I recommend the 1.0 reward as you will get 3 different ornaments for it.

Enjoy!
Your friendly neighborhood warrior

Upon inspecting the chessboard in Butcherblock Mountains as a warrior, you will automatically be placed in a single player expedition and zoned in shortly afterwards. You cannot summon a mercenary here, but one will not be needed.

The event starts by attempting to pick up a huge blade laying on the chessboard. A war-wraith, same appearance as those from Drunder in the Planes of Power, by the name of "Judicator of Narikor" picks up the blade before you can. It takes to the air. You will need to shoot it down with Archery or Throwing to force it to engage you. The Kick -> Taunt -> Disarm combo worked for me the first time he came down. Once disarmed, hit him with the sword, this is the only way to damage him. Once beaten down to 75% health, he will take it back from you and fly away again. Repeat this process one more time, but use Bash -> Taunt -> Disarm combo for the second time he comes down.

When you defeat the Judicator a second time, a scene will take place, then you have to deal with Suteng the Disgraced, a black version of the Seeds of Destruction Ogre models. When he fights you at first, you cannot get his health to budge. He will continue to fight you until he has beat you down to 50% health. Speed this up by sitting down, forcing him to hit you for max damage. With you at 50%, he will back off and fight other Ogres. You are also completely healed after he backs off.

Now you get ambushed by tall darkbone skeleton models named "an arisen of Suteng". The Bash -> Taunt -> Kick -> Disarm combo worked here. Once disarmed, you can take down the skeleton easily with any weapon type, and it will heal you for a little over 10K health when it dies. The skeletons ambush you from random directions, one at a time, and you have to kill 6-8 of them before moving on.

Suteng the Disgraced finishes the Ogres he was dealing with, grows even bigger as he fills with rage, and attacks you again. The only abilities that I saw work on him were Kick and Taunt, each of which will give you an emote that you are further enraging him. He did not respond with emotes to other aggro generating abilities like Scoff, Grendlaen Roar, Wheeling Blades, Blast of Anger, or Ageless Enmity. If you attempt a Disarm, you'll be informed that it is not possible to disarm Suteng. After you call him names and kick him in the shins enough times, the event ends with Rallos Zek's arrival. The expedition will automatically collapse, zoning you out.

Some quick notes. All creatures that you can engage in combat will mitigate down to a single point of damage until you meet the special requirements to damage them (hitting the Judicator with his weapon, or disarming the arisen). However, Kicks and Bashing bypass this mitigation. You can use Gut Punch and Knee Strike for damage as well, though Knee Strike was resisted frequently.

Reward options for this quest have changed. Each ornament is now its own reward selection.
Option 1: Jagged Blade of War Ornamentation
Option 2: Blade of Strategy Ornamentation
Option 3: Blade of Tactics Ornamentation
Option 4: Champion's Sword of Eternal Power Ornamentation
Option 5: Kreljnok's Sword of Eternal Power Ornamentation
Choose not to take a reward.
Option 7: Kreljnok's Sword of Eternal Power Ornamentation (this is likely going to change in the next patch, there should be some sort of new reward called "The Lion" for this option, the item was not patched in with the change to this task)

Once you've completed the quest, you don't have to reperform it to acquire the other reward options. Simply hail Lady Carolline and say "epic gift."

Skeletons
# Jul 18 2013 at 10:29 PM Rating: Default
The skeletons don't require a specific weapon really - it does help, but from my experience, I was able to disarm them (regardless of what weapon they use) with the following (thanks Shuna!):

Bash -> Taunt -> Kick -> Disarm

Once they're disarmed, any weapon will work well against them (they went down very quickly once disarmed).

Some other general notes about this quest:

1) For the Gargoyle, I used:

kick -> taunt -> disarm

To disarm him, then used the 2hs against him til 75%. You do this twice, then he'll die and Suteng runs out.

2) With the skeletons, I utilized the bash -> taunt -> kick -> disarm chain to disarm each - I only had a level 51 dagger on me which really did not get the job done quickly enough. Once disarmed, I went back to my higher level 1hs that worked fine.

Once I killed all the skeletons, the event seemed to break. Currently I'm standing here waiting for something to progress while 'a Gindan elite' swings his sword at 'Suteng the DIsgraced', who's just standing there doing nothing. Quitting the expedition didn't work, so I used Fellowship signal to port out and leave. Trying it again, not sure whether I was too slow and the event bugged out or what.

-- Second attempt

I used the disarm strategy to kill the skeletons as quickly as I could, and the event progressed without issue - I also noticed that every time I killed a skeleton, I received a large heal (I see heals for 10032 - I imagine it heals you to full, but I didn't pay attention). In essence, I didn't bother switching to a piercing weapon or blunt weapon - just used disarm to disarm the skeletons, then they die very quickly.

When Suteng attacked, I used riposte disc and spammed taunt, kick, and Bazu Roar and Scoff - it seems that taunt and kick are the primary attacks needed, as I saw some big yellow text every time I used either ability. After enough of this happens, Rallos spawns and you win the event.

I did not use any healing potions for my second attempt, as the event heals you if you 'follow' it. As far as gear goes, I had 53k hp with buffs and roughly 6500 AC with Field Outfitter, Staunch Defense up.

There's a couple updates to this quest that really need to be noted here. Since it was quite a confusing little run the first time I ran it and managed to disarm the wraith of the 2 hander. Bandolier is your friend.

In fact, since you need to bash the mob(requiring a shield), its the only way to equip the sword I've found: since it fits in no bags whatsoever. Bandolier to a 2hander and replace that with the sword. Then melee attack with the weapon. The 2nd update is that: something isn't being said about the quest that clearly the 3 who have completed knew or understood, while I and the 86 warrior below had no idea of the answer to the problem, I still have no clue of the answer and I've ran it 8 times.

Something needs to be done to the wraith beyond disarming, as the sword kills it too slow to amount to anything and you die too fast, regardless of outside influences. I died every single time(except the first), because after disarming and using the weapon: It kills very very slow. And you die very very fast. The lowest I've managed to get the wraith is 88%, this was disarming the sword at fairly high percentage for a disarm(97% life), it still managed to kill me. If I truly am supposed to be able to get this thing to 75%: Either something is secret in the comments of those that have completed or the quest has since bugged to become impossible, because there is no way to beat the mob to 75%, even if I had had healing potions I'm convinced it wouldn't have gone below 80%.

So any notes would be very helpful.

For the Warrior "An Epic Quest" battle log.

The skeletons can be disarmed by using the following skill combo: Bash - Taunt - Kick - Disarm

This will remove the skeleton's weapon and make them FAR easier to kill.

When you get to the WIZ step of the quest in West Freeport, you will get a message saying to return to the spot after you have complete the quest (for any class). If you return to the room in the Academy Of Arcane Science tower, you will receive a task pop-up asking if you would like to join the "Arcane Faire". If you click "Yes", you are placed in an expedition. If you sit for a few more seconds in the observatory room, you will be automatically transported to an instanced version of West Freeport: Arcane Faire.

There are several games you can play in the faire (including drinking games, an exhibition "fight" with a clockwork, betting on the fastest racer, etc) that yield Bronze Coins, which you can use to redeem for carnival prizes.

I will create another write-up of the related task when time permits.

OK so here is a REAL rundown of this event: ((BRING TONS OF HEAL OVER TIME POTIONS FOR YOUR LEVEL!!!!!) click on the ground spawn sword, Judicator of Narikor spawns and takes sword. Bow him Down then use Taunt, Kick, and Disarm for the first disarming, then Taunt, Bash, and Disarm for the second one. This will make it easier for you to get the sword, (emote for this is : The creature staggers backward as the blade falls from it's hands.) Use the Sword to DPS him until he takes it back it is a 2HS wep, (have to steal it TWICE) He then steals it back and FDs. Then Suteng the Disgraced spawns and attacks, fight him until he drops you to below 50% health (DON'T WASTE HEAL POTS HERE!!! Don't worry you get full health back) then Skellies pop. Then follow the guide from Crypto1 blunt against slash, slash against pierce, pierce against blunt. Then last version of Suteng spawns if you saved your furious disc use it to reposit his attacks and build your agro then hit every agro disc you have and BAM all done.

Warrior Event

For the event, it starts off by clicking on the sword on the ground around the chest pieces. This spawns a gargoyle that grabs it and flies into the air. Use your bow to damage him until he comes down, the attack him and use Disarm to take the sword away from him, once you get it, equip it (2 hander) and dps until he grabs it and flies off again, use bow until he comes back, disarm and repeat. After the second time of this he will take the sword back again then FD, another mob will walk up, you attack this, use bash and disarm ( I don't know for sure what makes it changes, it keeps going back to 100% health, I just DPSd and used some discs and disarm until the event progressed)

At this point Skellies will start to spawn that you need to kill to damage the event mobs, each one you kill does 25% damage, you need to kill 8 total from what I saw. To damage the skellies you must change between different weapons, If the skelly is holding a Blunt weapon, you need to use Piercing weapons to damage it. If they have a Slasher out, use Blunt weapons. And if they have a Piercing weapon out, use Slashing weapons to damage them. These don't do much damage and each time one dies it heals you (was 10% for me, not sure if its % or actual heal based)

Once you kill the skellies and event progresses, a final named will spawn, you need to build high agro to spawn Rallos Zek and finish the event, just use all your agro abilities you can.

I would bring healing potions just in case, the damage isnt that high overall but especially a lesser geared warrior will most likely need some heal potions.

Most damage i could do was getting mob to 96% and it would reheal. Any more info would be great. Seems disarm has to be at a certain # any idea what that is? i would crit and do a lot of damage but weopons only do 1 point a hit.
