Eron Nurwistle may be found on top of a windmill, at +800, -550. You must have a minimum skill of 250 in Tailoring to receive this task. The task can be requested out of order but must be completed in order (using components from the previous task).
You say, 'tailoring' Eron Nurwistle says 'To finalize the jewelry, and continue my campaign of harassment you will need to go into the steam factory. This will be a very dangerous place for you. In most of the areas the steamworks are massed in groups, so this will not be easy, and you are likely to want friends to help you. Other than destroying as many clockworks as you can while you are there, you will need to collect parts to make a thread that will be good at conducting magic through the jewelry. The brownies always annoyed me while I was working in the fortress, but I found that their hair is useful, it manages to retain some of their magic. This [thread] will be troublesome to make. You will need to be at least an expert tailor in order to complete this.' You say, 'thread?' You have been assigned the task 'Steamy Revenge'. Eron Nurwistle says 'I found that this thread will only bind when it is under the influence of a powerful energetic field. You will only find that in the four generator power room, so believe it or not, you will need to actually find a way to get really close to one of the generators and make the combine. This will likely be painful, so be quick. You will also need to be sure that there are no clockworks in the power room as the metal within their construction will interfere with the aura.' For the final task, Eron needs you to venture into the Steam Factory, destroy as much as you wish, and while you are it it, pick up the final parts for completing the jewelry. Enter the Steam Factory and collect the parts you will need. When you create the spool of thread you will have to be in the central power chamber of the workshop, dangerously near one of the power generators. Don't forget that you will need two of them, one to give to Eron, and one to use yourself. Once this has been completed go back to Eron and give him the samples as usual. You receive "Eron's Thread", a scribable book/recipe. Loot 12 Strand of Brownie Hair - 0/12 - (The Steam Factory) Loot 2 Steam Suit Hydraulic Fluid - 0/2 - (The Steam Factory) Loot 2 Purple Gem Grade Faycite - 0/2 - (The Steam Factory) Loot 2 Yellow Gem Grade Faycite - 0/2 - (The Steam Factory) Create 2 Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread using Tradeskills - 0/2 - (The Steam Factory) This combine must be done in The Steam Factory. It is a tailoring combine using any sewing kit. If you attempt it elsewhere... The hairs fall apart as soon as you try and place them together. If you attempt it at a random location in The Steam Factory... The hair sticks together for a moment, but falls apart before you put it down. Perhaps you need to be closer to the static charge. Once you find a good location, but without clearing away nearby clockworks... There is too much activity nearby and it is interfeering with the static charge. Deliver 1 Purple Gem Grade Faycite to Eron Nurwistle - 0/1 - (Dragonscale Hills) Deliver 1 Yellow Gem Grade Faycite to Eron Nurwistle - 0/1 - (Dragonscale Hills) Let Eron examine a Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread - 0/1 - (Dragonscale Hills) Speak with Eron after he has had time to examine the thread - 0/1 - (Dragonscale Hills) Create 1 Eron's Threaded Web using tradeskills - 0/1 - (ALL) Combine 1 x Spool of Energized Brownie Hair Thread with 1 x Eron's Threaded Web Pattern. The recipe also returns the pattern. Weave the web into Jewelry - 0/1 - (ALL) Combine Eron's Geared Jewelry + Eron's Threaded Web + 1 x Purple Gem Grade Faycite + 1 x Yellow Gem Grade Faycite. in a Jewelry making container. Show Eron your progress on the Jewelry - 0/1 - (Dragonscale Hills) Eron is satisfied with the completed jewelry. It works as he expected. You have gained 2 ability points! You now have 2 ability points. You gain experience!! Eron Nurwistle says 'Thank you for all of your help. This has far surpassed anything I expected when I designed it. You do understand that it is reconfigurable? Simply put it in your jewelry kit and use the tools within to alter the configuration. This will change it between one configuration that is better suited to people that use mana and another configuration better suited for people that tend to work close in. If you are [confused] over why these tasks constitute revenge, I will be happy to explain this further.' You have successfully been granted your reward for: Steamy Revenge You say, 'I am confused' Eron Nurwistle says 'Well the food and drink tasks you did for me were obvious. Just surviving Meldrath's attempt to kill me is revenge in itself. In your first task I sent you to kill minotaur miners. While you were doing the killing, I planted seeds of doubt into the minotaurs and made them believe that Meldrath himself ordered the attacks. Additionally, just by killing the miners, even though they do not directly work for Meldrath, Meldrath manages to get some of the ore, so by killing the miners, you disrupt the flow of ore to Meldrath. If you wish me to [continue] I can explain more.' You say, 'Please continue' Eron Nurwistle says 'Though the Mechamatic Guardian has fallen from his island and his direct control, Meldrath continues to try to gain back control of it for his use. By entering the guardian and destroying clockwork while in there, trying to get the supplies I sent you, you have hampered his ability to regain control. When I sent you up to mechanotus and sent you to get some of the refined oil and metal, you again hampered his ability to make repairs. And finally in the steam tunnels you more directly hampered Meldrath's ability to recover from the attack of the Ak`Anon gnomes. All of the destruction you have committed within his realm continues to frustrate him. If you wish I can [explain] why I have not asked you to kill Meldrath himself' You say, 'explain' Eron Nurwistle says 'While Meldrath may be trying to kill me, I only want to see him frustrated in his efforts to destroy Ak`Anon. Additionally the destruction causes him to take so much time on matters directly connected with the destruction that he no longer looks for me. My vengeance does not go so far as to wish him killed. Frustrating him and getting him off my back is enough for me. The final puzzle of what I had you do that may confuse you is the [book].' You say, 'book?' Eron Nurwistle says 'I had some hope that the book may provide something useful in further frustrating Meldrath, but in the end, I was mostly curious. Meldrath had made some efforts himself to find what the book was about, and it made me curious.' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
