I see that the zone ,ap thing lists there is some kind of garganuan panda belt but it doesn't drop cause i killed him at least 15 times and i was wounder ing if n e one got this belt ?
Got bored last night and decided to kill soe titans with my 59 drOOd. So i took out old ghost and after 'bout 2 hours this guy spawned. Resisted all snare spells and...get this..RESISTED MY DRUID EPIC. That really made me mad so i took him out with DD's and used my SoW to stay away from him (hits for about 110)kicked his @$$ but was still mad 'bout the epic so i logged on my 60 monk with furious rage and killed most everything in the zone. Made me feel better and i had a good nights sleep. =)

i dont know bout you guys, but im not jealous of him. after all those years my main toon is still lv 42, so im 100% sure that one doesn't need to be THAT uber to enjoy the game. LOWBIES OF NORRATH UNITE!

Yes it is indeed a monster of a panda. It hit's about average for its level and has many, many hit points. I feel that it may be undercon. Last night, 12/27/01, myself 46 nec and a friend a 59 wiz took this beast down. It con'd blue to me but was still difficult (for a blue con) to bring down. It is immune to all speed affecting spells such as darkness, snare and the like. This makes it much more difficult for a pair of casters to kill it. However, we did kill it.. and we got both the robes (no drop) and the claws. Also, it seems to have a set route, it doesnt wander aimlessly. The robes are nice, but the claws make a great twink item.

This and many of the other titans (don't know about ALL of them) are UNROOTABLE and UNSNAREABLE. If you try and root or snare, you get the message "this animal's speed can not be changed". Just like Yvolcarn in Cobalt Scar. Why some of you people spent 12 or 13 tries trying to snare/root him after you saw this message is beyond me. Those saying that you finally got it to stick are lieing. The easiest way to kill these things is to fear it, and bash on it's back. If you're a necro, this is easy, if you're a ranger, you just bash it--if you're like me, a druid who can't get someone to sell you the darn pet spell, you just charm random animal walking by and send it after the feared giang. And I feel your pain--he dropped the claws for me too =P. The majority of these things are blue to a 60, and even if they're green, they're high green and you might even get exp off those. Basically these drop very good loot for this level zone, and will be camped by level 50-60's. Not sure why they bothered warrens coding the zone when the good loot is attainable by 60's......oh well.

Yay, you are dumb! all of them can be rooted, not sure on snare, becuase my shaman cannot snare them. But i have rooted all of them, including ling ling or whatever the panda is called. happy day to you:)
*sigh* calling me dumb when you're just wrong and lieing. Anyone who has been here knows as soon as you root them you get "this creature is immune to changes in it's runspeed" message. You do NOT get this message when you try to snare. You only get it when you try to root. Being immune to snare also means that things with a snare effect on them cannot be cast. This includes the darkness line of spells and the druid and necro epics. I feel bad that I had to respond to you but this is something people should know. And don't post anonymously if you're gonna flame someone that way I can hunt you down ;)
Seems to spawn in a mini-crater in the north east part of the zone. I've only fought him once, but from the picture above, it looks like the same spot. I've been told that the Titans are on a 2 hour spawn. Every 2 hours a random Titan spawns in the zone. The trick is finding out which one and where they are...
He does spawn in the crater but the 2hr spawn thing is off.Had him spawn immediately after Ghostback went down, and sometimes there would be no spawn for 5-6 hrs. Go figure

52 Ranger, standard panic animal kiting minus the snare...chased him all over the friggin zone. He's a druid mob, casts stinging swarm a lot, pretty much kept me dotted the whole time...though why he'd waste his 110+ dmg attacks to cast a spell like swarm is beyond me. Hurts when he hits but he didn't really do a lot of that. Pretty much kept him feared and wailed on him for about 10 minutes, got adds but my DS eventually chased them off, only real damage I took was from them though. Kinda like this zone, has a 'big game hunt' kind of feel, with the giant snake, gorilla, and 2 giant cats...most of which are blue to lvl 60.
I soloed Giang Yin with my chanter at level 52. Was a blue con and knowing what I was getting into, I had a pet out with 2 daggers in hand, and hastened with SLTW. Giang Yin hit 113dmg on my pet, was VERY succeptible to all chanter spells (which are magic based) and took my pet FOREVER to kill him. Had to use fear on him and just let pet beat on him from behind. Mesmerizable, DOT landed, Tepid deeds landed, nukes landed.
If he's got high MR, he certainly didn't exhibit that trait when I killed him.
Ok I am a lvl 30 bard and watch a lvl 60 druid kite this thing, SNARE DOES NOT WORK, NEITHER DOES DRUID EPIC, that and it has about 6-8k hp and hits for 100+ have fun, and remeber you have to get exp to loot it!
I am a lvl 53 druid on Terris and i ran him around for 45 min trying to snare him and he would not snare, he also cons blue to me so therefore i would get the exp for killing him, he wouldnt be trivial. however after trying to get him snared for so long, and root wouldnt work for nothing, i gave up and went to the next named, all of them seem to be very snare/root resistant with high HPs...just my experiances
Was intresting since he is immune to snare type spells but dosen't move to fast while feared. he took 4 splurts so guessing his Hitpoints to be about 6k. As for MR, he only resisted fear once so it isn't to high.

And it's not level 45 either, because it conned green to me (60 mage) when I went around exploring. I landed a magic based debuff (Malosini) right off the bat and proceeded to nuke the living **** out of it. It's not immune to anything a mage can cast anyway...
Its spawn name is '#Giang Yan' so it's related to something else in the zone... kinda like '#Venril Sathir' is linked to his remains, or something.
How do I know? It said
'#Giang Yan was a trivial challenge for your party'
Um shows what you know mr lvl60.......cause lvl47 and up are blue to a lvl60.....mobs need to be 13 lvls under you when you are 50+ mobs under 14 lvls of you are GREEN just my 2 cps worth

I intend to suggest my guild start what will be called the "farm team". These will be chars. we intentionally leave in the proper range to loot these zones. Hopefully a well balanced team...

I took my 47 pally butt over to this beast, and twas a sight to behold. Being the fearless warrior that I am with all of my expensive armors and the such, I laid all of my spells upon myself. Cast my Stun on this beast and began the quest to defeat it. True it had taken me several minutes to slay this beast yet I had gained a robe in the process. He had conned blue by my reconing, and true be it that I was low on health once completed, yet the stuns with bashes had kept this beast at bay.
