Killed the real fay a few months back and he dropped a Water Dragon Scale. Can't find any use for it, nor is it listed on Alla's. Anyone know what it's for?
This isn't a dragon, this is something a dragon threw up cause it couldn't digest it. Dragons are big and scary and hit you for over 500 points of damage. This thing was smaller than my warder and hit for 210 tops.

kk i am a 62 pally and to old to go after naggy or vox. the book of frost drops off fay but not the spawned version. does anyone know the spawn point and rate. trying to do epic pls help
He does pop, but he stays up for 2 hours until he goes down the path to the GM Monk and gets his *** kicked.
I believe real Fay no longer pops

It depends on what armor you have and your stats. I duo'ed Faydedar with a 65pally. You should be able to do it.
More than likely. Wasted him with a 65bard/65shaman combo. With a pet doing the damage, you'd have little problem I think.

Bolgin Codslayer has a 12hr spawn timer who is the NPC you turn in the "Froglok Essence" which is looted from Ulump in Swamp of No Hope.
After handing Bolgin the Froglok Essence, Bolgin despawned and gave it back to me (in inventory) and Faydedar came slithering out of the water angled towards me from the left of Bolgin, casting his lava at a few of the groupies. I got feared right away and ran off for 6 seconds.
None of my spells were landing even inside melee range, but once he was down to 20%, Drifting Death stuck.
At 7% he started fleeing to the tunnel entrance you have to swim up through to get to Bolgin. He didn't make it far though and he only dropped 1 piece for the druid.
In the end only the 59th rogue had died. This is not a raid encounter and you do not need a group full of 65th lvl players. What I do suggest is having a "buff junk" line-up. It worked for me and my magic resist is only 147 at best.
Buff Line-Up:
thorncoat - see invis - shield of thorns - levitate - chloroplast - resist poison - resist disease - resist cold - resist magic - circle of winter - PoT9 - KEI - Boar - Kazad.
Everything from PoT9 and on did NOT get touched. I strongly suggest you do NOT have SoW, turn on WALK, and ensare yourself. I couldn't ensnare myself because I kept resisting lol. Hope this helps.

I also killed him with only two people. It was for my epic. It was me, a 50 druid then, and a 65 pally. We easily took him down.

According to EQDruids your supposed to turn in the "Froglok Essence" to Dolgin Codslayer to spawn Faydedar. Dolgin will despawn and give back the essence.
What is the re-spawn time on Dolgin? Went there today and he was missing. Can't find any information anywhere on this guy.

Does anyone know what his natural spawn clock is. I have never seen this mob except as a triggered mob. Also is the natural mob higher level than the spawned mob. Any information relating to this would be appriciated.

Well, It was some time ago (pre-POP) but I did see the ugly lizard..a bit too close. I was swimming for the Firepot room, and I happened to check track about the time he came barreling into my frail 4x level self. Totally unprepared. I tried to snare or root him, but that just got me dead quicker. :)
Got his 'brother' back a few nights ago, spawned him for my epic and got in a few at the end.

Took him down last night..I got the worst luck b/c i think someone killed him right before I came to check on the camp b/c i sat there for 12 hours waiting on the NPC to pop to spawn him. So 12 hours later the NPC is up and we engage him ( 54 dru - me , 65 sk , 54 sk, 65 cleric, and 65 druid ). Lasted about 10 minutes and only death was the 54 SK b/c i was his healer and i got feared all the way up the bridge. All in all it was a fun fight and im now 1 mob from epic :)

Kill Fay last night I had a very large group so he went down fast I would say less than 5 mins. He started running at 10%. Only One death and he got low hp agro. But now I am completed with epic

We wasted Faydedar with 3 people, 65 Bard, 65 Pally, 62 Cleric, and it was almost overkill. The Druid just sat off away in a corner after spawning him. Bard played resist songs and we resisted everything except maybe 1 or 2 of his AOE fire and that was partially resisted. Cleric had to CH the tank only once. Bard didnt use any wpns, he just sang resist songs with instruments while standing there.

Killed him with my 65 ranger tanking. 65 rogue for DPS and a chanter and cleric. This was one of the most entertaining parts of the drood epic. Easy, easy kill. They should remove that guild raid needed on the epic walkthrough. 
Killed him with 4 people: 65 dru, 65 mag, 65 sk, 62 rng (me) after we killed Ulump Pujluk (the 4 of us was really overkill on that poor mob :) in SoNH for a guildee's epic.
Fight was fun, lasted a bit less than 4 minutes, Druid was happy :-)

Fay is not 60 anymore... He is level 55 and i killed him with 3 people Druid, Mage and Cleric
so how do you spawn the dragon? No info anywhere

read up on the druid epic on how to spawn him. He is also a natural spawn in the zone wich is how ya get all the other drops than the water. Triggered one only drops druid epic piece.

Fay is No problem has long has u have a decent grp. We took him out with me (65 Warrior), 65 wizzy,65 cleric, 65 chanter, 65 Bard and of course the 54 Druid =)... The Druid didnt do anything except spawn fay tho. With the bard playing his resist songs and all the Resist buffs i got b4, i had my resists in the 500's.. so None of his spells landed on me. We killed him in under a minute, and it was alot of fun =D

We did the spawned Fay last night - we had 65 Pally, 65 Cleric, 65 Mage, 65 Druid, 65 Shammy and my 57 Druid alt. We were serious overkill.
As long as I casted from melee range, I had no problems landing stuff on Fay - Winged Death and Drifing Death landed as did Frost the six times or so I casted it, for the max possible damage each time.
With the recent change in pathing Fay now runs down the tunnel at low health - we fought him underwater for the last bit of the fight. I wasn't wearing my EB item but didn't need it (barely).
