faydedar can be found by tracink from sout western double islands .Woot i killed that at last :) i am a happy pally now :)

We recently got the Torn, Frost Covered Book from Gorenaire in the Dreadlands on the Stromm Server. THANK YOU soo much good friend and Realm of Magic guildie for weeks of visiting the Dreadlands and checking track for this elusive mob. Gorenaire was waundering in the area just below the ice caves and we dropped him on the snowy slopes, with the help of several guild members ~~ thankies and <3 you all Realmers .../hugs
He does fear, resisted with about 290ish magic resist. Otherwise not too hard of a battle.

Rumor has this book and it's sister book, the burnt book no longer drop off any dragons but Vox and Naggy as of about 2 years ago, please confirm.
While this is... seven years after your question, the answer is no. It still drops off of Gorenaire in Dreadlands; just looted it today on Quellious-Povar.

I can confirm that the Torn, Frost covered book does still drop off of Faydedar. I have 6 kills in the past 30 days and had 2 books drop.
You can get the Torn, Burnt book from Nagafen, Severilous, Talendor, and Melalafen. The Torn, Frost covered book drops from Vox, Gorenaire, and Faydedar.

Wife and I (Pally 68 and druid 69) killed it 5 times thus far with no luck on the book. Pretty easy , but books is not droping for us. =/.

Can a good group take on Faydedar? and if so what lvl do they need to be?
A group of 70's can take Gore or Fay. Be sure to have a good tank and you will need a cleric. A slower would help as well but not needed really.
Faydedar is only level 55, if you have decent resists it's soloable by any reasonably well geared melee. (Done by 70 monk w 10k hp, 2100 ac, 500ish AA, using a Damage Shield Potion and Mend).

How common does this book drop?

This and it's twin drop Uncommonly to Rare. It will NOT drop on every kill or even every 3rd kill. Good luck!

Yes this can be MQ'ed for the Book of Scales, I had actually helped a Pally with it as well (Another person had also turned in the fire book, so doing only 1/3 is still possible in getting the book).

Nothing. It's not actually a book. It's just a quest item.
