I can confirm on Mangler TLP server, the Sabertooth Tiger does exist in Trakannon's Teeth.

I just completed the stage for 'Revered Impressions' quest, Ogre cultural armor, killing 20 of them. They spawn on the South part of the zone between the old city of Sebilis wall and the grave yard of spectral npcs.

What I did: Brought a TRACKER. Again - a TRACKER. I stood just west off the flat terrain outside the city wall, and started killing everything in sight. My location was -1926, -586, -334. You have to spawn the little buggers. I do not know the place holders, so kill everything in the area. After several minutes, the Tigers started popping up on the tracking window. I had 4 up on track at one time, so there are more than just one place holder. I did not have any spawn where I was clearing mobs. I always had to run to some other area on the map near by. The pain in the rear is all the adds that you pull while trying to get to your prey. I spent probably an hour or two to get 20 spawns and complete the task for the quest.

I never had a Tiger kill up on the flat terrain near the city wall. They were always down in the hilly terrain. I did kill one right on the eastern edge of the graveyard of spectral mobs. So they can be out that far west. Like I said, bring a Tracker and save yourself a big headache.

A friend just told me that he got an Excellent Sabertooth Tiger Hide from a "Sabretooth". He said he checked the name twice. Has tis been changed ?

These guys are too high to be charmed by a shamans charm animal spell, which has a level limit of 34 regardless of the shamans level. I was PL'ing a guildy here yesterday when one of these aggroed me while I was medding. I was suprised as hell when my pet killed it to see that I got XP for the kill!!. Must have been a level 39 version, but these arent worth the effort to kill if you are around 30-40. Cacti, cockatrices, rhinos and sarnaks all have considerably less hp's and hit much lighter than these do.

I have to agree with some of the post's here that these guys aren't worth the time, worry or effort to kill unless near or atleast lvl 40. The hp's ARE ungodly and can return 70-80 hp's to my 90-110 per hit. I only got revenge recently with my lvl 36 SK. The only reason it didn't wipe the floor with me this time was cuz of harm touch for 361 hp's and 2 spear of disease's for 130 hp's each along with fear kiting this bad boy down to one bubble of health. Anyway...not some thing to play with unless your crazy twinked or in a mood to press your luck. Nice to see nearly a full blue bubble for my troubles though.

These guys are tough, personally I hate to even fight them in a group. When we fought it the damage it was hitting me for was just ungodly. It was double and sometimes triple damaging me for 90 pts!!!!!! When I tried to HT it at lv 29 it resisted like, hmph you can't do better than that!! I would definitely recommend not soloing them until you are 35 or so. Spells are very hard to stick on it. It resisted everything me and the party had to throw at it. We were ranging from LV29 - LV35 or so.

These guys where cake for my 44 ranger and gave about half a blue bub a piece for the kills!...all i do is pull with SS then run too the skyfire zone there is a sopt directly in front that makes mobs go in very small range paces and makes it easier too fear and hit at the same time as he never gets far away....just proceed too pound and panic i usually end up with with about half mana after each one of these guys but its well worth it:)

As a ranger, I killed any animals in this zone and I always let the tigers alone. They have twice the HPs of tigresses or rhinos (added up my damages and ended with 2123 before killing it, but that's without the 4 or 5 flamelicks that stuck).
They are not worth the effort of killing, whatever your class and level are.
It'll take twice the time and more than twice the mana to kill it (because while you fight, you can't med).

I have never seen these things run. In my experience they always fight to the death. They are however relatively easy to kite. But they hit hard and fast, keep sticking root on them, and DoT away.

The level is certainly right. At level 35 I never conned one blue, most were yellow and red. And at 39 I never conned one yellow or red, most were blue. These are the toughest mobs that you will pull in The Overthere, capable of double hitting for 90 damage and having much more hp than the Sarnak Knights...

if you're a necro and you have an enchanter in group, let enchanter tashan it, then cast scent of shadow, then you can SoP it or acid blast it, and you can DoT it with heat blood.

I ran across this bad boy on the hill just WSW of the outpost. I didn't con him (that's my grave mistake), and cast darkness on him...which he resisted. I'm level 24. I sent my level 22 pet (the 26 hitter, good summon) after him, and noticed that he was NOT hitting for the usual ~40's, but rather for a max of 84! I quickly conned him, and he was RED, RED, RED! While my pet was still alive, I cast Feign Death, and waited for him to kill Xebarer and wander off.

Come to think of it, he DID look pretty large and robust...
