The Minotaur Lord is a common spawn now like Minotaur Hero was back in 2002.
About every "a minotaur slaver" in the mines is a placeholder for him.
So its possible that two or more Minotaur Lords are up at the same time.
To make him spawn just kill all minotaur slavers in the mines.
This will spawn about 0-2 Minotaur Lords in average.
The slavers at the Gorehorn camp are not connected with him.

He poped on me as i was running thru the caves heading to Looping Plains, he said on agro

[b][/b]Took him out with my 27 necro...solo...Hit him with Poison Bolt repeatedly along with my pet.Needless to say pet was almost toast ,but i was untouched and didnt pull any aggro from others.

Took the Minotaur Lord on with a 33 DEF SK and a 34 HalfElf Pally. He "popped" after clearing everything out. This took about 2 hours. We didn't realize that you needed to clear the back rooms out too.

I will give this word of advice:
Watch out for low level punks that decide to walk through and train all the Minotaur Guards out.
May that train tap dance on their pathetic heads.

The first one we saw dropped the horn. Happy evil day!

As my 23 rogue was killing slavers in the caves to get scalps for my wizard's newbie armor's bracers, I got seen by one of these guys. After hitting me hard a few times it lifetapped me for 150 damage.

Killed this fellow at lvl 30 (I'm a ranger). I snared him, then arrow kited him around for a bit till he had about 2/3 life left. Then waded in and killed him. I only ended up with about 1 bub of hp left, though. And then I ran into Meldrath the Malignant a second later...

What's the spawn rate?

Haven't figured him out yet...first day I was killing nearly everything (Meldrath and and the hero being the ones I was after) he never spawned. Second day he was up about every 30 mins...

Once you get to the wheelbarrow, you're at a fork in the road. He spawns in the middle tunnel.

I suppose he only has one or two PHs (or no PH at all) seeing as he spawns in the same place every time. In my past few trips there, I've slaughtered every minotaur in sight and have the Lord spawn within minutes. Killing the low level ones seems to help him spawn.

Got goot info from my guild:

This guy does in fact have a place holder. It is none other than Meldrath the Malignant!! He is about level 35, so bring a group.

That is very incorrect. Today, while I was in the caves, both the Minotaur Lord and Meldrath were both up at the same time. The Minotaur Lord spawns in a totally different area then Meldrath, so Meldrath is definately not the Minotaur Lord's PH

Just confirming some of the other information posted here. He conned blue to me at level 30 and wasn't a tough fight with a level 25 and a levle 20 cleric backing me up (very probably would have died if I had tried to solo him, I'm a shadow knight by the way). He drops the horn for the Darkforge bracer every time. He is fast. EQAtlas.com's map of the minotaur caverns has a place marked by the wheelbarrow where he is supposed to appear, and that's where I found him. I wasn't able to confirm what someone else posted about him spawning in/near the "slave room". I don't know if he has a PH or if he's on a timer or what, but he wasn't there when I arrived, but after wandering the caverns for a couple minutes, he appeared (there was a lower level group hunting slavers, so they might have killed a PH). We stayed for another 20 minutes killing green slavers thinking to get another horn for another guildmate (I play on the FV server where the horn isn't NO DROP), but one of us got tired and left, so we called it a night. Another thing to note is that he seems to have a somewhat larger than average aggro range. That's all I got.

He is very fast, because he caught up with my lvl 15 bard running and playing selos with drum and even jumping down hills (also helps a little) before i reached the mills i was dead.

you must be CRAZY if u think u can even think of killing the lord with a grp oflvl 11 to 14 my lvl 28 pally got killed by him and he hit him hard so i wouldnt be trying it unless u r in a grp of at lest 2 lvl 28

Fast - This zone is full of fast guys. The Missionary Kobold also has SOW.

I was hunting the guards, because I successfully kited outside the cave. I Harmonied the guards and pulled one. So far so good, till I went around the corner and found the Lord, the Minotaur Lord that is. I was in Wolf Form and couldn't outrun this guy. He kept schmacking me, till I lay dead. If he hits you, you better fight. :)

Well duh, the missionary is a SHAMAN, and casts SoW on everything he sees when he spawns, first himself, then everything else that could turn you into a PC burger.

The Minotaur Lord spawns inside the cave, pretty far inside. The missionary spawns outside the cave and will usually go no where near the cave much less inside. Some mobs just naturally run faster then others. That's how the Minotaur Lord is, he doesn't need sow from anything else.

There are 2 other spawn points that ive seen deeper inside, one is near the dwarf, gnome and wood elf npcs, the other is in a sharp corner outside that room. And more than one lord can be up at the same time, just fyi.

the horn CAN be used by bards and it is a wind instrument...it is also used in the darkforge armor quest for SK's

Ok a weird thing happened to me tonight,... i was camping the mino hero and i was just clearing out everything in the caves when the lord jumped me hehe. Nothign was odd about him BUT he had a very interesting battle cry. Something like "Fool!, i survived the gladiator pens of qeynos! You Dare challenge me?!" Well it was something like that anyway. The strange part here is that the minotaur hero is the one that escaped the gladiator pens in qeynos. Why does the lord yell that out?If anybody knows anything plz post a reply

The horn is for darkforge armor for shadowknights and it says useable bard and can be equipped by a bard but doesn't affect percussion, string, wind or brass songs; guess that's why it's called the BROKEN minotaur lord horn LOL.

He actually has about 1100hp's from the 3 times I killed him yesterday. I hit him 2 times for 528 a pop, and he still had a little life left each time I killed him.

his horn is to get the DarkForge Bracer (9ac 2dex) but you also need the decayed bracers (left AND right to get one) from cazic thule, now that i see he only has around 900hp should be no problem taking him down. Thanks Emrystone
