Eye of Veeshan  

Alright, first off, this isn't actually Veeshan's Eye. An Eye is a term that is assigned to a person who serves the Ruler, like a kind of spy. Thus Veeshan's Eye means that this guy is just her uber servant. He goes out and acts on her behalf, doing what she can't do cause she isn't there, bla bla. That's about it, though. The Hand is the same thing, just they are more like assassians. Atleast thats what it is historically, might not apply to EQ terms, but that would explain why it is a Fae-Drake rather than a beholder thing =D

Just tryin to bring a touch of real world history to these boards.

PS: Veeshan may actually exist here. Don't forget, this is a different plane of existance, thus the normal laws of space and time do not apply. Perhaps you grow to enormous sizes when you enter the plane, and only a God can leave it without actually being magically transported back =) Just some food for thought.

First off, all of that info can be obtained in the original EQ Manual :P

Second, halflings existed before "The Hobbit" and have been in many, many roleplaying games since. Obviously you haven't played any of them.
There is, however, one thing that Verant did steal from Tolkien, and that is Rivervale. Vale and Dale are synonimous to eachother, and therefor Rivervale = Riverdale.

IF this is the eye of Veeshan why is it a dragon? Isnt it supposed to be an eye?

ok i got the Kunark Game thing not the original so i never saw this movie but i did a **** load of reasearch on the gods and i'm quite informed onb them. The thing is this. There is one mega powerful all knowing all everything type entity called the nameless. He isn't a god. he is more than a god. He always was and always will be. He was around befor time began and will be around after everything is gone. He is the one whom created the "gods of norrath" as far as i can tell. He didn't however create them for norrath. I belive that when the gods were created they each bulit them selves's a plane. (air for veeshan, growth for tunare, mishicve for bristlebane, fear for cakiz, and hate for inny.) there are certinly more plans for the other gods. they simply haven't been created/discovered yet. i'm thinking al'kabor will discover them after lucin or maby with it. But anyways each god had it's own plane. Then veeshan was wondering the vastnesses of time and space and discovered norrath. She choose to claim velious for her "brood" (the mini versions of herself she put there. also known as the dragons) Also "the scars of velious" were made by her CLAW. so so she is huge. but then again she's a god so she could have simply made herself big to do then then gone back to normal size. i dunno. But anyways after she left her dragons here some others gods found norrath. First was brell. he carved out a entrance to norrath from his plane of underfoot and place a magic maze of liveing stone to guard it. He invited other gods into a pact at this point to keep watch on veeshan and her kids (dragons) i belive these gods were tunare (who made the elves) cakiz-thule (who made the trolls and lizard men) and rallos zek (who made the giants) and brell (who made the dwarfs). soon brell invited more gods into a new pact. Rallos aagin (this time he made ogres and goblins) and brell made his second race (gnomes) there were probly other gods in the 2nd pact but i can't remember right now. sorry. All of these races prospered and grew. Then the ogre empire (which was incredibly large and powerful because ogres at this time were even stronger than they are now and had extreme magical power) decied to take over norrath. Rallos himself entered the plane of earth (norrath) and so the other gods banded together and locked him in his own plane (power) He could not get out and only powerful gods could get in. Then the gods proceded to serverly punish the mighty races Rallos had created. The ogres were weakened and struck dumb. Many Many giants were kills and the rest were scattered over norrath. The goblins suffered so horrible a fate that no records remain today of their punishment. And now they are but a shadow of their former selves. Somewhere about this time Inny found out about norrath and got pissed cause he wasn't invited into the pacts. So he stole the first High evlen King and Queen and took them to his plane of Hate where he slowly took them apart mentaly and pyshicaly over a time of 300 years. WHen he was done he rebulit them into pervertions of the High elves curropted by hate (these pervertions were the dark elves). After this soluesk ro showed up and used his magic to drive the elves out of their homes and turned it into a desert (the desert of RO, yes the elves used to live on antonica which was at the time called tunaria. the humans changed it to antonica) So the elven druids used powerful magics to try to fight him off but they couldn't beat a god so they left and set up shop in the faydark. Then Mitheral marr and his sister errolis marr showed up on norrath and created the barbairians. Some of them got sick of the violence of their peers so so migrated south and became humans. Humans then journyed all over the world returnign with storys of dwarfs and elves. some even had a limited knowlage of magic. This led to the forming of the mighty combine empire (who created the magical portals wizzie port to) and unforunetly this eventual coslapsed (combine empire) Then amny humans began to fight amounst themselves so again a group of them got sick of it and left. they sailed away from qeynos and landed on odus. They founded the edurites (named after their leader Erud) They studied the 3 main schools of magic. Wizardry, Summoning, And Enchantery. Soon some edurites found out about the forbiden art of necromancery. they were branded heretics and there was a mighty civil war. many people died and this is when the hole was formed and the Vah shir were launched into space. (i belive the edurites and planed to get rid of the heretics but miscalculated and hit the vah shir city instead. Well anyways the heretics were defeatedf and they left and created paineel. where they live now. The halflings i'm not sure about. I belive they may be another of brell's creations or maby karna's. (btw if you've ever read the book "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkein you'll know that verant totaly ripped off the book and stole the halflings strait from the book. They are exlactly the same. But anyways....... The other gods (prexus tribunal, bexteriox, and the others did not create races (that i know of) but simply showed up and are content to have some of the races already made worship them. Also there is the god Lucin who stayed away from norrath and instead took one of the moons (more wil lbe revealed about this god whom i belive is a her when SOL comes out.)
