The PoSky version at least no longer seems to be a Death Touch. All of the DT mobs hit me with it but the max damage I took was 80K (sister of the Spire) and that only once. On several occasions it did nothing at all but give me the dialog ("Sister of the Spire says Socor!"

Socor of Drinal[/quote]
In your log, what does it say for the <Spell> that is casted where you took 80k damage?
This is the dumbest thing ever put into the game. In my opinion, this is to **** people off when theyre wondering through the plane and whoops your dead.
By today's standards the Death touch would just be a "minor inconvenience" touch.
Did I miss something? If you think 79,5000 is less than 10,000 then you need to go back to school and learn your math lessons again. I just got dropped for 79500.
Calm down, honey bee...reread the title of his post again. He was just asking if people remembered the old 10k deathtouch, and commenting on how that would be a minor inconvenience nowadays. Which it would be!
It says the range is 1000, so If I invisi up and walk up to any mob that CT's Park my pet (Guard here) Target Mob then walk away until out of that range sick pet on him come running back dot+nuke him how would this tactic work has any one tried it?

Aikido is the principle of non-resistance. Because it is non-resistant, it is victorious from the beginning. Those with evil intentions or contentious thoughts are instantly vanquished. Aikido is invincible because it contends with nothing.
Divine Aura, Harmshield, all that line is no good versus this badass nuke. DONT TRY IT, our clr DAed herself after I(sadly the only tank) tried pulling unaware of the DT. She was the 2nd one DTed.........
ive never tried it. but i read that divine aura an other invulnerability spells dont protect against most of these sorta DT's. just figured id mention it.
The next questions I have are: 1) does the Mirror/Reflect/Bounce/ etc. type of spell protect against Cazic Touch if one is lucky and the spell should be refected? 2) and would there be a corpse on the ground as if the player got credit for the kill, or would the corpse poof as if the mob got credit for the kill?
I have survived a Death touch with my Touch of the Divine AA. I wouldn't count on it working ever again though. I only survive after getting killed about 25% of the time at rank 10 of this ability.
My necro cast Quivering Veil of Xarn on herself (18 second invulnerability), and ran up to the Spiroc Lord fully visible. She was instantly dead before the invulnerability had worn off. I was disappointed in this, but it confirms what you heard.
personally don't believe refresh time is 30 seconds - i believe it is 45..i killed dread the other day but sending in shammy to take HT..Had SK ht for 12k and startin beatin him down with 2.0...i think at about 30-35 seconds he started running from me - so i think its 45 seconds..
Looking at the spell data for all the Deathtouch spells I could find, they all say "Reflectable: Yes" in the spell data. It would take perfect timing, but has anyone tried hitting the puller with one of these spells or effects a couple seconds before engaging any of the DT mobs?
The timing does not have to be too perfect. The buff lasts for 12 seconds. As far as I know, they only work against other player spells and not against NPC's. I might be wrong on the NPC part, why dont you mozy onto PoFear/Sky and try it, if it does reflect cazic's touch, hell, I'll do LDoN's till I can get this spell and solo PoFear/Sky too on my mage.
Yes it does. i have some spell shielding. and i dont get hit for the normal 32K. it was something around 24K.
after looking at logs and adding up my spell shielding.. i have 22%. and i have two counts of being DTed recently (stupid MPG trail / 7th island posky) anyway, 22% of 32K is 24960 and that is exactly what both my DTs are for. so with max spell shielding (35%) you would be saved from 11200 damage, and still be hit for 20800.
I'm too far from uberness to know, but does anyone else know of further AA's, Discs, buffs, or anything else that could reduce this damage further below 25k?
Also, is this spell cast on a random target or selected by order of agro?
Enchanters can cast a 20% spellshield that will block up to 2080 hp and a rune that will block 1500 hp. That is just about it, so after 35% spellshield, you get 20800 hp to try and take, which an enchanter can take with the AA mind over matter and uber gear. 11khp and 11k mana mean half the deathtouch goes into the mana (10400) and half into hp, leaving them with 800 hp. So uber enchanters can take 20k falls and 32k deathtouches, but only every 22 minutes.
Instant cast time. It's an 0 timer. The stun has to be a fluke timing. Stunning would always have been on the list of should-have-dones anyway, seeing as then he can't cast OR hit for a proc.
Also are all of the mobs that cast this stunnable? Call me crazy :p /tease
According to the spell History at Lucy (available at the link above), there was a time in the past when it was Magic-based, not Unresistable. So it's very possible that it was resisted by people for years before it was modified.
Nice attempt at sarcasm, but perhaps you need to do some research before you end up looking like an idiot.
heh, it's funny to look back at these posts now. Best warrior in EQ at present has 22K HP, which is why DT is now 32K instead of 20K as it was in old times. 2-3 years? Less than 1 from these posts, there were at least a couple 20K warriors. I imagine this time next year, the knights will also have that or better. Who knows though?
YOu say now that noone has 20000 HP just you wait...
Hehe, might be waiting a while. The game's closing in on 5 years old, and the top HP players are around 12k unbuffed. Not saying it'll never happen, but we could be looking at 2-3 more years down the road.
the beta was in 1998 so it's probably closer to 7 years.
Also I don't reckon it'll be too long before we get 20k hp players. There's a serious problem with just So many people being level 65 now that I suspect some balancing will be done to spread it all out - we could very well be looking at a level 100 max within those three years....
