Found one of these tonight on a vendor in West Commons. For a little over 60 plat I couldn't pass it up. It's on the heavy side for monk gear, but with 15ac it's worth making room for. Especially at level 14.
Try taking a look at what monk allowed chest pieces are out there - this one is by far the best/easily available piece. 3.0wt is no biggy for a monk really.
I was leveling on the Tizmak and got a few bags of this piece and the other armour. They look very cool and are good leather but I can't sell them to save my life on Lanys server.
I have no idea how much I paid for this thing, because I acquired it through a series of trades. I started out with a Foreman Tunic (AC10 WIS3 STR3? WT 0) which I traded for a Lockjaw Hide Vest (12AC 5STA WT1.5) and a thick leather apron. The thick leather apron I traded for a hand made backpack (plus I threw in 75pp). Then I traded the Lockjaw Vest, 22pp, and a stack of rat ear pies, for this. See if you can figure out if it was a good deal! All I know is it has more AC than any other chest item I've had, 1AC more than a sarnak emblazened tabard, but half the weight, and it looks pretty cool! (Lockjaw and Foreman's both have the same graphic, and look pretty lame on a female iksar).
I just wanted to tell everyone that I found a cured surcoat in High Keep on the vender that sells jewels, going for around 60pp. This was on Morell Thule, and it's not there no more :)
Well. I'm really quite surprised this would go for 200pp. How my druid got one was I was trying to get rid of this Runed Totem Staff. They go for about 10pp on my server, and the shaman I was selling it to said he didn't have any money, but was willing to trade. He gave me this. And I figured it was a decent bargain. Look at it this way: It has the same ac as banded. That's 15. This has also +7 magic. So, that adds what, ten? Oy. I seriously have no idea how the Gods of EQ Prices figure their stuff out...sheesh. Still, I'll love sellin' it for 200pp and makin' 180pp profit when I get a new bp.
"I seriously have no idea how the Gods of EQ Prices figure their stuff out"
One word: Capitalism. It's a player driven economy, and items are worth as much as people are willing to pay for them. This amount, obviously, is a function of the "usefulness" of an item and the difficulty (camp time, MoB level, travel time, etc.) in acquiring it.
The prices quoted on this and other price sites just give a historical account of the priceing, and are rarely accurate for a current number. You can help fix that by always entering prices here and elsewhere when you buy and sell items.

I've gotten about 3 of these, and i'm currently using one on my 30 druid. It's got great AC for a leather type item and the magic resist is pretty nice too. They are definately a lot more common than the gloves, I've only ever seen one pair of those and I've seen tons of the cured coats. I sold one for 150pp but it's probably worth more around 200-250 range.
I would like a few different prices. I have one of these, but was recently given a BCP by a friend. I'm going to sell it but I definitly want to know if AllaKhazam's listed price of 191pp is right. Thanks,
You have to enable the new armor graphics in you eqclient.ini file. Refer to the supplemental manual document(print it) that is placed in your EQ folder.
I am trying to get a tally as to what pieces of Tizmak/Cured Tizmak there are.. Are the gloves and surcoat it for cured? Are the tunic, leggings, and sleeves it for regular? I want a full set of this stuff for my DE cleric, for the look of course, but would prefer the cured since the stats, AC wise, are the same as banded. Thanks
yes the cured only offer the glove and tunic so far. And the regular tizmak armor is chess, arms, and legs only, up this point only things that have been found.
I have this piece of armor and I always get complimented on it. But I cant see any difference because I do not have Scars yet. Can someone please post a pic of this or direct me to a site that has a pic? Thanks
I just replaced my Foreman's Tunic with the Cured Tizmak Tunic and have not noticed a change in my appearance. I am a human female monk, but I do not yet have Velious. Will the appearance change once I purchase Velious? And by the way, this is an absolutely awesome item for monks in their teens and twenties. 15AC is equal to the quest robes, but just more weight, and as of now, they are selling in the commons for 50-100pp.
Tizmak is medium only Cured Tizmak is Small and meduim race...
The new leather look is what most people buy it for, but the stats are not bad as well, at least for a couple of classes.
For monks, who can afford the 3.0 wieght, the cured tunic is the Highest AC effectivly availible, plus some magic save. 3.0 is only an icrease of 1.5 for the AC monks out there.
Druids also love it. Lots of druids end up as pullers in the huge outdoor zones, and the AC on the arms and chest are very nice increases... gain of 13 AC for a loss of 6 wisdom, if you include the arms.
Basically, when all you can have is leather, any High AC Leather is good. But No, I do not think you will find many warriros in Tizmak...
I agree with you, it is good for druids. I was hunting in there with a druid friend today and I didn't notice that she got this one and I got the normal one. After trying to try mine on to see the graphics on a halfling (who can't wear the normal ones) we realized one was cured, one normal. We compared the stats to the BCP- and, her being 44th level, we decided that it did beat hands down the BCP, both in looks and stats. Her main role now is pulling and casting. She doesn't need the melee type stat boosts from the BCP any more. She needs AC and resists. The AC is better, and +7 resist to magic is always good to have. Basically, she looses a few HP and gains a lot of AC (wood elf agility + high level). And as she continues to migrate towards more and more wis items, she will be able to wear a full suit of it and have a really good AC and look really cool too.
My 52 Druid got this the first day she was in Velious. I was exploring and found the Yak men (Tizmaks) and got the regular tunic AC 11. I kept killing them and my husband looted the Cured Tizmak Surcoat AC 15 +7 to sv magic. We kept killing them and eventually I got one as well! Better than my BCP in AC and since I have very high agility the AC 15 became AC 25 or so...it's nice :)
really looks beautiful on a female wood elf druid ; ) I get tons of compliments. By wearing the arms, legs and tunic im only losing like 7 wis so im at 194 now.
after killing tizmaks for 3 hours trying to get this, I went into the dwarf city and guess what? I saw a piece on a vendor at the bank and started buying out other stuff until more showed (price on vendor 39 plat with 113 charis, any piece) When done i had like 3 sets of arm, tunic, and legs.
The look on a dark elf female is INCREDIBLE, about coolest looking armor ive seen in game.

No offense, well unless you are a newbie who got it for free... blah blah blah... anywho, this wouldve been a great item if MONKS couldve used it, i mean wieght= 00, that is great! What was verant thinking, noone is gonna like this tunic!
I am surprised someone would say this is Crummy... What is crummy about 15AC especially if it can be bought thru auction for cheap? This type or the uncured type both have decent AC for lower class Char's. I personally have been givin 2 sets and bought another (i was getting it for friends between 10th and 20th lev...) and it is great! The look is also AWESOME.
If you think like a non totally twinked character - you could see this is OK stuff.
I agree. Finally something for druids to wear that doesn't make you look like you're naked or poor. It's beautiful if nothing else and to me it's well worth the 48pp that I paid for it.
Um, wrong on both counts there. Monks CAN use it, and it weighs 3.0, not 0.0. And yes, this is a rather nice monk item, if you can make up for the weight in other pieces with cured silk or wu's. And it looks cool!
