Planes of PowerGot mine from a Typhoon Lorok in the Forest area after about 4 or 5 clearings total.
(Had actually gotten itseveral times when I was leveling up out there, but this quest wasn't in at the time)

I have also found that I can get a drop in the first few kills from Frogs in the center area of the zone with the tornado.
Maybe got lucky but found it off first kill from a tempest toad in the middle area.

dunno if they fixed the drop rates on these or just got lucky, but ive been hunting frogs in pos since 59-62 and have gotten about 6 AA's of them, but yesterday was the FIRST time i had seen any tongues drop off these guys, and i saw i think 6 tongues that day and that was from about 1 AA so 15 or so frogs

If you are looking for one of these go to the caves for them. The ones that wander near the forest ginats drop them rarely (1 in 30-50.) While caves about 1 in 5-10. Cave ones summon, field ones don't. And cave mobs hit alot harder, but can be easily duoed if you have a slower.

They are by the Tempest toads, same level.. they do not glow for the tongue here now, was no light source, as some other mobs was light source of Torch or Stein of Moggok, etc.

I got one last night off a tempest toad in the caves, as mentioned. I sure would like to know what settings you all are using to see this "glowing" I hear everyone talking about. I specifically looked for glowing on all the frogs, took off my ultravision and lightsource items, turned on dynamic lighting, no glow. And then I killed a frog and he had a tongue. I don't see the glowing.

Confirmed drop last night off a tempest toad in the cave near the BoT zone in. Like most VP quest pieces, the npc glows when it holds the piece.
A little harder to camp as they summon and hit in the 600's (only doubles though), but still solo summon kiteable as a necro. Just beware of the poison proc. I was at 20 percent health when I got my piece but was still poisoned.... looted up, then immediately gated to my bind spot where I then lifetapped yard trash in OT (I was bound there as a halfway point between PoK and VP). Wish I hadn't run out of stalking probes but at least I lived. :)
Anyway, if you can handle the camp you'll find it faster than kiting the forest frogs. Good luck.

As all VP quests mobs that are harder to kill usually drop the needed item rather quickly. Easier stuff you gotta kill a million of em.
Elder thought horrors in the deep for the page to silverwings quest killed 1 got the page after killing most of the other crap in the zone and got 0.

can anyone confirm which frogs these drop off? just want to make sure its not really the frogs in the caves that drop them. been killing the roaming frogs along the forest part and not had one drop yet in 20 or so

Yes, can confirm that the Hurricane and Typhoon Loroks (frogs that roam POS forest) drop this. Have been helping some guildies get this quest item - it's a fairly rare drop, my current estimate is that it drops once every 30 to 50 kills or so.
