Its only 6 ticks. 36 seconds. And, really, it doesn't lower agro by much. Chances are, if you're going to get agro, this won't stop it. Still, it'd have been nice if it were a longer duration, then it could be included in your buff-up preparations for a hunt. Or, if it were more than 5% off agro, then you could cast it on yourself before opening up a series of nukes.
In this spell's current state, its not very useful. And, keep in mind, its a 24-second recast time. This means that, if you don't want to waste a slot on it, but only switch to it quickly when you'll need it, it'll take 24 seconds for you to be able to cast it, after you find it in your book and mem it.
Sorta ruins my hopes of this thing.

This line has some usefulness, akin to the Silent Casting AA, although this only reduces it by a small amount. Still, if you take an example of using both Calming Visage on your cleric and Haunting Visage on your tank, the tank will be building a little extra aggro and the cleric will be getting a little less while healing. The short duration, relatively high cost for the level, and other more pressing enchanter duties means this spell is really only useful for boss fights, not a constant-use spell.

I don't even really think it's useful for boss fights either. Enchanters get an AA that increases the effectiveness of this and Haunting Visage by 120% in CotF, but it's still pretty much useless. It's not until EoK that they actually added a duration increase to the AA (+216s duration & -16s from recast timer) to make it even remotely usable. Before that I just couldn't ever imagine removing other spells for this visage **** that a.) removes less hate than Paladin's Marr's Salvation AA and b.) gives less hate than SK's Visage of Hate or a tank hate mask.

Ummm... I think you're referring to the wrong spell. This one is cast on PC's to make them take less aggro from whatever they're doing to make mobs mad.
