Try Ctrl+F (Find) Enchanter Spells 26-50, which is Illusionist Sevat. He carries this spell.

this spell fizzles on me 97% of the time. I've been practicing on grey mobs in low lvl dungeons to get the kinks out. Anyone else having the same issue?
I don't want to be fizzling when it counts

As a level 32 enchanter, with a base 251 int, and a self buffed 224 cha, I can assure you that few things within my level range can resist any mind control spells that I use. Beguile nearly always sticks for its entire duration. Ethrall if very rarely resisted even on red mobs. (assuming of course that they are not 10 levels into the red for me) With the aid of Mesmerization (aoe) it is possible to contain and control as many as 10 dark blue adds in a tightly confined dungeon. (provided, of course, that I started the battle with a full mana pool) I would never intentionally pull that many, but any true adventurer knows the occasional train does tend to happen more often than we may like.

The point of this post is not to brag, only to inform of my experiences. I've peronally felt the differnce between difficulties in croud contol with a charisma of 100+, and similar situations with a charisma of 200+. The difference is suggnificant, and worth taking note of when selecting your equipment.

There are two other things worth mentioning when we discuss the subject of mob resistance to our spells. First of all, use Tashani on every higher level mob. Any and every mob that considers white, yellow, or red must be Tashani'ed. The reduction in magic resistance caused by Tashani makes a huge difference in the resistance of your spells. Also, try using tashani before you charm a pet.
The second thing worth mentioning has to do with your conjuration skill level. Make sure that your conjuration is capped if at all possible. Even if that means spending hours in the Pok casting enthrall on yourself. I high skill level in conjuration/specialized conjuration is equally as important to efficiently control a croud.

Int or Chr?

1.2 mins. Nice. I was wondering how people think chanters should balance int and chr. I currently have 185int and 158(ish) chr on my 25 chanter. Should I concentrate on getting my int up or my chr?

Really, you need both.

Here is something to think about though:
What good is an extra 100 mana from an extra dozen INT points gonna do you, if your spells get resisted because of a CHA check, when you cast on a mob?

My lil chanter has her steins equipped (with +6CHA aug on each) when Mezzing, Rooting, Mem Blurring, Pacifying, and Charming.

Trust me on this, that a resisted cast costs you at least the extra mana you would have had from the INT, by having to be casted twice (or more, on a resistant mob), and could cost some in your party their lives, lost down time, lost exp, etc.

Best to have them balanced, if possible. I switch out CHA and INT gear situationally. When crowd control is my main duty, you better believe I have max CHA (including my buff) on me, over INT.

But, there are those who would tell you more mana is better. Of course you get to FULL MANA after you appear dead, at your bind point too, so maybe having more INT as a chanter IS the way to go Smiley: yikes (NOT).

Intelligence should be your primary concern. This directly influences the amount of mana you have in your mana pool, and by level 65 with the proper gear and AA's, you can cap your intelligence at 300+.

Charisma, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have a huge impact. From what I understand (which is limited, sorry) is that once Charisma gets over about 150, there is very little game benefit for going higher.

Just my thoughts. Don't take them as gospel. Hopefully someone else can answer with some more solid facts.
