As of June 7 2023 on the Oakwynd server at level 1 the gnoll fang turn in rewarded 14.9% exp and the following moonstone turn in gave 2.8%.
When I went to turn in the Moonstones to McNeal, everybody in the bar jumped me!!!
Any suggestions which faction I broke?

Circle is the only one that stands out, but this quest lowers that faction. So, it doesn't make sense that they'd be aligned with that faction.

If you're at least dubious with them by that leg, the -1 hit per fang might not be too bad, but I was already at threatening beforehand. (Had to send my main in earlier, to "take care" of a similar problem with the last leg of the tax collection quest.)

Just to be clear - this can be done at dubious. Sometimes it isnt clear when min-faction required is blank, often that is because that aspect has not been reported/logged. In this case, you can do it at dubious, the lowest non-agro con.

For some reason I can't get the Captain to even make the opening statement for this quest. I even tried just giving him the fangs (unstacked) and he politely refused. I have fair faction in all of Qeynos. Anyone got any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I seem to remember rumours of there being a chap you could hand fangs into in the underground (evil) part of qeynos about three years ago. I never had reason to check back then but now i have a DE rogue with stacks of these fangs and I was wondering if these rumours where/are true.

its good till lvl 12
i started getting a little under a blue at 12
but if u have someone go into BB and slay those
dirty gnolls and you loot fangs, you can get from
level 1 to 12 in no time(just take an empty bag
need like 7-12 stacks,but they drop like flys(1 ever kill or 2))

is to buy them from a merchant (yes, many people have no clue what to do with these or don't care and sell them to merchants) and then do the turn in. This is expensive as the moonstones cost like 8 gold or something each when you buy them, but if you are a darkie and can't afford the negative dark hits for turning in the gnoll fangs and want to build your light factions, this is a good place to start to build them up enough to take on other light quests that won't hurt your dark factions.
If you were me and I were you, would we still be friends?

at level 8, for every 4 fangs i turned in, i gained a full yellow xp bubble! i am going to gather as many as possible to see what the xp is like at level 9.
it seems to me that all u need to do to get into qeynos is spend hours on end making friends with.... EVERYBODY!!!... i've made apprehensivly with the guards but the corrupt guards hate me... i could either go to some guy in the karana's who takes donations for BB stout (i think his faction is corrupt to begin with so he's KOS), or go to erudin and do the inert potion quest... BUT WAIT!! the ppl in erudin prolly won't like an iksar shaman either... so that means i have to kill kobolds for hours...(seems to me verant has something against dogs) anyway.. (plus u can also turn in some kobold molars to a guy in paineel when u faction into there..)in the end if u do finish this u'll be a lvl 20 iksar with nice faction in Paineel,erudin and qeynos... i'd be a very popular iksar... but that's about.. forever from now

Hi, I am a Lvl 56 Beastlord who has broken his faction in qeynos due to killing a Newbie in Blackburrow who got attacked by an NPC Pally(Cant Remember his name) I have spent some time killing Gnolls in Blackburrow & I can now wander around Qeynos as long as I dont go near the Temple. I am also attacked by any NPC Cleric in the Karana's and the GM Cleric in Eact Commons...I really want to fix this faction....Can anyone tell me the quickest way to do this, either killing mobs or doing an easy quest over & over as long as it doesnt involve the Clerics or Pallys

My Iksar monk has been working on getting non-KOS in Qeynos, and can get in front part, but is still KOS to most in S Qeynos. Tried to use invis to get to Capt Tillin which worked OK but as soon as I hit the trade button to turn them in to him, he and his buddy standing next to him killed me. Not sure, but I think his buddy was the one that aggroed first, then he joined in. Any one know another way to do the turn in? Wolf form is not easy to find at the time you need it. Thanks for any help you can give.
you could grab a potion from the bazaar that turns you into a human.
This post is old and I'm not sure if the potions were around then.
You need to use sneak from behind him. If you can't stand behind him while sneaking without aggroing his buddy, then you can get behind him, start the trade, then FD. If you succeed the FD, turn in 4 gnoll fangs unstacked and hit Trade, it will work. Only problem is you have to stand up and start a trade again and FD again for each 4 fangs. If you don't get a mem blur from FD, you'll have to stay down for 2-3 min (however long it is) until it says something like "Your enemies have forgotten you!"
A much easier alternative to this would be to have someone pull him somewhere more convienent for you and either root him or hail him to get him to stay there, preferably by a zoneout. Then sneak behind him and turn in all your fangs 4 at a time.

I can't stress this enough. WATCH HOW YOU DO THIS! The XP is great when done in moderation but each fang you turn in is another nail the Circle of Unseen Hands puts in your coffin. I did this over and over because the XP was great and now I can't go into Crow's or Fish's as the people there attack me and sick they're pet bouncer on me. While the XP is less and the rewards aren't so hot, turning the gnoll fangs into the Barbarians is a lot safer and helps with that Oh-so-hard-to-get Barbarian Faction.

This IMHO is still one of the best newb quests in the game exp-wise. Prior to level 10 you can make a phenomenal amount of exp, and in some cases gain an entire level, by turning in stacks (4 fangs at a time) to Captain Tillin (located on balcony of warrior guild in Qeynos). Some nice faction adjustments as well but beware the faction hits. I did the quest so much as a young Ranger that I am now KOS to Corrupt Guards (Lt.Dagarok is a ******) and I can no longer trade with anyone at Crows Tavern because they are on Circle of Unseen Hands faction (Qeynos Rogues guild). This isn't a huge problem though unless you want to work on your brewing skills (Crow sells some of the supplies needed)and there is a fix. By killing Bandits/Raiders in the Karanas you raise Circle of Unseen Hands back up (guess the thieves in Qeynos hate competition). Anyway, to sum up, unless you are a Rogue this is well worth the time and effort to do and even if you are you may want to turn the fangs in to Lysbith in Halas instead since you don't take any faction hits at all there anymore (they apparently fixed the negative hit to Rogues guild there). Moonstone ring is actually a drop.. if it's the one i'm thinking of, it's the common drop of the ghoul arch magi in Lower Guk (rare drop being the Shining metallic robe). I'm about 90% sure that's where it drops... Evil Eyes in Gorge of King Xorbb drop a similarly named ring..but i dont think it's the same.
Actually the Moonstone Ring is the Frenzied Ghoul's common drop in LGuk, and his rare drop is the FBSS.

The AM's common drop are the silversilk leggings. God I'm so sick of seeing those!

This quest & it's follow up are great for low levels, not real hard & good EXP.
