Zan the Witch Hunter is a basilisk who roams the path where Ursula the Green Witch roams (the one ending at Denlord Darkmoon), near +1250, -2825.
You say, 'Hail, Zan the Witch Hunter' Zan the Witch Hunter says, 'Help! Help! [She] turned me into a newt!' You say, 'She?' Zan the Witch Hunter says 'The Witch! She's right behind me! Break her staff and bring me a piece! It's the only way to end this curse!' You have been assigned the task 'The Blightfire Witches'. Defeat the witch that turned Zan into a newt and return with a shattered piece of her staff. Deliver the Shattered Staff of the Green Witch to Zan the Witch Hunter 0/1 - Blightfire Moors Kill Ursula the Green Witch, she is in the woods with the wolves that see invisible and where Zan the Hunter is on the map. Upper right side of map near Seyla the Dragon. She drops 3 x Shattered Staff of the Green Witch, one of which you must deliver to Zan. He respawns in Drakkin form and wanders away. Zan the Witch Hunter says, 'Phew! I thought I was going to be a newt forever! Since you got the staff, you must have faired better then I did! I'm no match for these witches. You'll have to take over my quest to rid Blightfire Moors of their dark magic!' Your task 'The Blightfire Witches' has been updated. The next three task stages open up: Deliver the Shattered Staff of the Gray Witch to Shaytherrin the Exorcist 0/1 - Blightfire Moors Agatha the Grey Witch may be found near +25, -1245. During the fight she summons Agatha's Right Eye. She drops 3 x Shattered Staff of the Gray Witch, one of which you must deliver to Shaytherrin the Exorcist, found at the Outpost (/loc?). Deliver the Shattered Staff of the Scarlet Witch to Shaytherrin the Exorcist 0/1 - Blightfire Moors Sinead the Scarlet Witch may be found near +1590, -655. She drops 3 x Shattered Staff of the Scarlet Witch. Deliver the Shattered Staff of the Shadow Witch to Shaytherrin the Exorcist 0/1 - Blightfire Moors Eralynn the Shadow Witch may be found near +1430, +3040. She drops 3 x Shattered Staff of the Shadow Witch. Upon handing in the three different staffs to Shaytherrin: A strange quite [sic] settles over the moors as the dark magic of the Blightfire Witches fades away. 'Congratulations,' Shaytherrin says. 'The best witch hunters in Crescent Reach have been unable to track down those four sisters. Please accept this reward as a token of my thanks. It's the least I can offer after what you did to help poor Zan. Perhaps you are now ready to face the [dark tower]?' Your faction with Circle of the Crystalwing got better. You gain experience! The SCARLET Witch is located up around the gigantic trees: gnarled branch, roving blightbark, etc., just b4 you get to the "giant zombies", blightfire never rest, etc. :) It took me awhile, but I found her and she was pretty easy for my 43 Drak Mage w/mercenary & pet.

I was just running around with my lvl 100 paladin and saw these witches. I like killing named mobs so I just wiped them out. I saw the scarlet one on my map and was curious so I killed her, saw the green one, killed her, saw the other 2...u get the idea.
The staffs they drop look cool.

I completed the tasks and when I went to hand in my final staff...she gave it back. She said it was useless to her. Ugh!

I soloed this quest with a 55 Druid. kinda crappy aug, but i had an open slot.

These witches are hard to kill , if you're not twinked or godmoded by a lvl70+. The reward is extremely CRAPPY, there are better augs to earn here for WAY less trouble.

Totally agree. This is a very good quest and SHOULD be the center piece of the zone along with it's reward -- however -- the reward ruins it.
the grey witch in the swamp area pops adds.. i for one killed the adds (was solo, lvl 39) as they came (4 total) as opposed to trying to burn the witch straight down and ending up with 4 adds .. i think its easier to just kill the adds instead.

Ursula is right near where Zan exists, in the area of the wolf pack. You don't need these quests to do the Dark Tower quests as
slaytherin will give those without any prior quests.
