At the end of the previous task, "More Parts for Bellfast," Bellfast promised to show you how to make something [more important].
You say, 'What is more important?' Bellfast says 'Great! You have been much help to me. I am feeling younger already! Long ago when we came down here there were four [brothers] who were geniuses at making the wonderful devices that us gnomes make.' You say, 'What brothers?' Bellfast says 'Together they had made a device that can alter certain very rare stones and with some mechanoinstructions, some lubricating goo, and a base seal, one could make a wondrous seal that one could attach to the armor especially made for their [culture].' You say, 'What about their culture?' Bellfast says 'If you want to help me further, I have four books that explain about the device, [Ambleshift's Anfractuous Album], [Poxysmit's Precipitous Parts], [Scrindite's Senescent Scribbles], and [Epicthieck's Edification Edition]. Each one describes each person's part in the machine.' You say, 'Ambleshift's Anfractuous Album' You have been assigned the task 'Ambleshift's Anfractuous Album'. Bellfast says 'Ambleshift was the one who put it all together. While the other three try to claim credit, if it was not for Ambleshift, none of it would actually have come together. His book describes the final assembly of the device, and some parts of it that he himself made. If you could get me some items, I would be willing to give you a copy of the album.' Found gargoyles near instance in Illisalin .. 1 on each side of bridge.. get about 1 dust in 4-5 kills.. Granite about 1 in 3 .

Some notes:
-Drachnid items can easily farmed in Undershore. There are numerous Drachnid in the vacinity of The Hive.
-Gargoyle items can be found in several zones, but I farmed Dreadspire for them. There are at least 16 static spawn locations that I know of. Two right near the Dreadspire zone in, four in the skeleton room farther up the bridge, two right before the bat spire, two past the bat spire, two next to the door to the Northern Spire, two right inside, and two in the hallway past the ballroom. There may be more static spawns, my search was not exhaustive.

Other than exploring the endpoint of tinkering, is there any reason whatsoever to do this/these quests? What is the reward?

I would have to guess Scrindites is for the AAAA, without doing much research. The other three might be the higher bags for combinations, but I'm mostly posting a guess-type answer to you and jonnyzro. The main reason for this post is to ask, do I need the books to make the bags?

ok, anyone have any idea what this is for? I have done all the quests and have all of the books. So far only Scrindites has been useful to me.
Found some in Illsalin off the Gargoyles there.

common off the gargs in ruins i just set up shop at one of the instances zone ins and kill the 2 there. will see 2-5 per hour

Dust and Granite are terribly common drops, should be no problem to collect that much in say, a day or so...
Terribly common where? only places I see is instanced or dreadspire more info ftw!
