One of the most important aspects to your battle readiness is your strong willpower and bravery. Years ago I discovered a particular concoction that will very readily put your willpower to the test. Unfortunately I ran out not too long ago and I am in need of some more [Planar Blood Brew]. If you can make some more for my students, it would certainly look favorably upon you in your future teachings. Bring me some along with your Planar Traveler's Manual.' You say, 'What planar blood brew?' Zauvudd Gigoth says 'To make the infamous Planar Blood Brew, you must attain some Nightmare Mephit Blood, Slarghilug Blood, Bubonian Blood, Soda Water, Grapes, a Cask, a Cork, and a Corking Device. I love how on this site noone ever seems to answer any real questions. Loc is posted like 6 times, got it, know where he is. DUH! How about do we have to do Willamina's needles over and over again? Hmm, very good question, asked multiple times, never answered. Hmmm.... Well, maybe someone will get around to answering this after they find out the hard way. That's what these posts are for is to help others, not repeat the same thing over and over and over again. Thanks. Oh, yeah, btw, if you do all the combat, magic, and stealth manual quests you get Secrets of the Plains. It's under Three Manuals quest listing.

No one seems to put info all together anymore; so here it goes. Zauvudd Gigoth, mob that gives you the quest, is @ -660, 900 which is in the bldg with the arch to the library on the evil side of town.
Bubonian blood drops from rats in the spider cave in PoD and from the rats in CoD. Mephit blood drops from the Mephits in PoN in the caves past the hobgoblins. Both Bubonian and Nightmare Mephit blood are tradeable and can be bought in the bazzzar.
The Slarghilug Blood drops (no drop) from the Slarghilug which are along the water in the opposite direction from the hobgoblins in PoN.
The final product does make 3 of the brew and they are tradeable.

What is the lowest level character anyone has used to successfully do this quest?

Actually, the lowest level one can do any of the beginner planar manual quests is 20.

46 as you need Slarghilug Blood which is No Drop.

I'm fairly sure any level can do this quest, a LvL 1 can enter PoK, the only zone needed for this quest. Have the LvL 1 do the Willimina's Needles quest, then hand him the Planar Blood Brew, which is droppable if i am correct, all the LvL 1 needs to do is do the turn in, and the manual is their's. Although i did do this quest at 45, so I'm not sure if their is a lesser level requirement. Hope this helps...

Acctualy tried to do this quest with a lvl 5 char at one point. Everything got eaten and I got told of by the NPC for being a nosy brat. So I'd recomend not attempting this below lvl 20 or so. You'd just be wasting the blood...

I think the NPC tells you to hand in the blood brew with your book, and I can tell you from experience,you need to do exactly that! If you hand in just the brew, you will not get it back.

If you just hand in the bloodbrew and it doesnt work you can try giving him the book after and it should work, I just handed in the bloodbrew and it didnt work and THEN I read the post that you have to hand in the book too lol, so I did and it gave me the manual =D. But do I now have to do all the work again to get another book???

Bubonian blood drops in POD off of Bubonians
Slar blood in PON off of slargaiths however you spell it.
Mephits in PON rather a pain to get to can be done with one group.

What level of brewing isneeded for this combine?
I seem to recall it won't even combine if your skill is below 220. Mine's 238, but I have not been able to loot Bubonian Blood. The Mephit is tradable; the Slarg is not. I am assuming the Bubonian is not tradable either. I assume the final product IS tradable, in which case you can bet it will sell for some fat plats in Bazaar.

eqtraders lists it between 200 and 236.
My Brewing skill is 199, I had a Geerlok equipped, and I succeeded. It was not trivial.

I brewed this today with a skill of 194. I forgot to eqiup my geerlok but it didn't matter. Was successful and it yielded 3. Only tried once cuz that was all I had supplies for.

I just started this quest and I can't find the blood. How do I get to Crypt of Terris Thule for the blood?
Bubonian Blood (what I assume you want from Terris Thule) can be found on mobs in the Crypt of Decay. See the chart on this site for the info about flag progression. EQ Traders is saying you need Brewing skill of 220 to do the combines and since at least one of the bloods are NO DROP, the brewer must collect at least some of the components themself. The Planar Blood Brew product might be tradable (rather pointless having it make 3 products if it's not)... so you may want to look for it in Bazaar. I can tell you that once I start making it, I'll prolly ask 5k or more each. I can get everything save for the Bubonian at this point -- current guild is not flagging for CoD at this juncture.
planar blood brew is in fact dropable, got one for 2k in bazaar today =)

Was the Blood Brew droppable or nodrop?
Planar Blood Brew is droppable even though one of the ingredients is not (nightmare mephit blood). No, the no drop blood can not be MQ'd. It is trivial above 250 brewing so the brewer must loot the no drop blood. For more info on the planar blood brew check out eqtraders.com
Nightmare Mephit blood *is* Droppable Chieftain. Use ya wig.

Slarghilug blood is nodrop, tho its easy to get and the mobs are fairly easy to slay.
