I have the quest just in case. I foraged one up and it updated the quest. No idea what was needed to be said to her to cough one up.
Edit: On a whim I thought that because the character hailing her had foraging by their class (Druid) she wasn't giving going to give one so I took a Cleric down there, with the quest, and hailed her. The same message about being quiet do the goblins don't hear and most importantly no mushroom was given.

Write up makes it sound like foraging - it is not. Also not a drop from the mobs. Must hail Rinnala Sweetsong for teh Sponge Mushroom...
I foraged the sponge mushroom. Did not hail Rinnala for it . So perhaps it can be obtained both ways?
