This is the Vah Shir Beastlord quest series. You must first do the citizenship quest.

    Part 1 - Handwraps

Animist Poren needs to see your Acrylia Slate.

Animist Poren says "I have much for you to do . There is a great need for capable Khati Sha in this new land. It is important that you progress speedily. We need to outfit you with the equipment that defines our chosen path. We'll start with your battleclaws, but be aware of the fact that it will take you some time.before you can use both sets in combat. Just keep them both with you while you learn.

Animist Poren says "Take this stitching pack and combine two shadeling silks from the xakra worms. Combine two of the threads to make a bandage. Take this pattern and sew together three of the bandages. With considerable practice this will produce the handwraps that will be a foundation for your first sacred weapon. When you have created them retuen to me the scrap material.

He then gives you a Khati Sha Handwrap Pattern and a Stitching Pack.

    To make the handwraps:

    (1) Combine two shadeling silks in the Stitching Pack to make a Shade Silk Thread. Silks are found on the Xakla Larvae in the pit (Shar Vahl) and on the Xakla Silkworms in Shadeweaver's Thicket.
    (2) Combine 2 Shade Silk Threads in the Stitching Pack to make a Shade Silk Bandage.
    (3) Combine 3 Shade Silk Bandages and the Khati Sha Handwrap Pattern to make Khati Sha Handwraps.

Successfully making the Handwraps (which is possible with a Tailoring skill of 4 - though unlikely!) also generates a Silk Scrap. Return the scrap to Animist Poren for part 2 of the quest

    Part 2 - Claws

Upon giving Animist Poren the Shade Silk Scraps:

Animist Poren says, 'That took quite some time considering the simplicity of the task. Please _______, work on becoming more efficient. We have much to do and time is of the essence. In your stitching pack, combine the handwraps, two young hopperclaws and forged fasteners. Return to me with the resulting claws and your [initiate's cloak.]'

    You gain experience!

    You say, 'What initiate's cloak?'

Animist Poren says, 'You should have received your initiate's cloak if you presented your acrylia slate and notarized application to Elder Animist Sahdi. You can give those two items to him if you have not already and receive your cloak.'

You say, 'What are forged fasteners?'

Animist Poren says, 'Perhaps one of our smiths can assist you with the forged fasteners. I'd check the armory.'

Ask Kagazz about "Forged Fasteners". He is behind the armoury by the forge at (/loc 254, -182, -189).

You say, 'Can you make forged fasteners?'

Kagazz squints as he reads your lips, 'Fasteners you say? Show me your slate and I'll make you a deal.

Give him your Acrylia Slate of Sharl Vahl. He returns it and says:

Kagazz says, 'My wife is making some jewelry. Not the sparkly stuff, mind you. She is nearly blind so appearance means little to her. She is intent on making jewelry with a more, uhh, natural feel. Currently she's constructing a special scorpion leg necklace, and is in need of more scorpion legs. I can't leave the shop so I need your help. Fill this box with scorpion legs and I'll pay you with metal fasteners that any merchant will gladly buy.'

Collect four NO TRADE "Scorpion Leg" or four "Scorpion Legs" (these latter are marked as QUEST ITEM and are stackable). Either will work but they cannot be mixed. Combine these in the box Kagazz gave you to receive Box of Scorpion Legs. Return this to him to receive one (1) Forged Fasteners. Also note that the fasteners are NO TRADE so any merchant will not, in fact, gladly buy them as he claimed.

    Upon Turn in:

Kagazz says, 'Ahh, _______! I thank you, my wife will be most grateful. Here are the fasteners I promised you. You know ______, there was a time that young, would-be smiths would seek my approval so that they could study the ways of the forge under my tutelage. That was back when I was Master Smith, before I named Barkhem my successor.'
    You gain experience!

    Combine:

    1x Forged Fastners,
    2x Young Hopperclaw,
    1x Khati Sha Handwraps,
    In the Stitching Pack

On successful combine, you receive Primary Silk Khati Sha Claw and Secondary Silk Khati Sha Claw. NOTE: the Handwraps are lost in the combine and are not returned in a later stage of the quest.

Return both Silk Khati Sha Claws AND your Initiate's Cloak of Shar Vahl to Animist Poren. Animist Poren is at 275, 47, -258. Enter the castle (west central district), descend the stairs, and turn right. Walk through the arch and turn right again. Descend the stairs at the end of the hallway. Enter the door and take the door on your left. Animist Poren is in this room.

    Upon Turn In:

Animist Poren says "Well, you're off to a slow start, but it is a start. You will do well to accomplish your tasks in a more timely fashion. You have chosen a path full of trials, . I say again, time is of the essence. Take my seal to Mahron Sood and prepare yourself for the upcoming challenges."

    You gain experience!

You recieve: Reinforced Primary/Secondary Claws as well as the Cloak of The Khati Sha Recruit and the Seal of Animist Poren

Animist Poren shouts " Friends, I have news to share! It has taken longer than it should, but at last has completed our initiatory tasks and will now be given the priveleges reserved for the Khati Sha recruits!. Soon we hope to have this citizen ready to aid in the exploring of this new land. Please give support in whatever ways you can and trouble this recruit as little as possible, for seems to be easily distracted."

What comes after step 4? I got a carved wooden box, were I shall put in my cloak and ...something I cant remember. HELP

Inside the box, combine your recruit cloak and a glowing heart stone.

The glowing heart stone drops off 'glowing muck diggers' in Paludal Caverns. I've found that the glowin' muck diggers spawn most commonly in the chamber surrounding the loc: neg 2806, neg 901.

Check the actual name of the box. It will be really obvious who to take it to then.
    Am I missing something?
    # Jan 26 2002 at 12:49 AM Rating: Default
Let me start this by saying I gave my original slate from the citizenship quest to the wrong NPC, therefore I got another one from the Acrylia Slate NPC.

However, now when I go to the Scorpion guy, and he asks me for my name slate, he just hands it back to me and says he has no use for it. I petitioned in game and was told, "I cannot tell you how to do the quest...there are many different types of slates". Everyone I have spoken w/ tells me that they just used their citizenship slate (I call it the ID slate). So am I forgetting to do something w/ the replacement slate I get from Mignah or am I just forever unable to do this quest?

    Thanks!
    RE: Am I missing something?
    # Jan 26 2002 at 11:09 PM Rating: Decent
Don't go to Mignah for an acrylia slate. That slate is only used for doing the citizenship quest.

What you need to do is go to Regristrar Bindarah and say, "I need a new acrylia slate." This will be the proper slate that is used for the quests.
    A hint for the Wraps
    # Jan 24 2002 at 5:06 AM Rating: Decent
I heard folk had problems with making the wraps - kept failing the Tailoring.

So what I tried was gathering as many webs as I could, then combine those into threads. 80 webs are a good start, though gatting a little help gathering them is an idea. That gives 40 threads and 40 simple attempts worth of tailoring practice. 40 threads created 14 bandages thanks to some failures, which made the wraps first time!

Tailoring skill had also improved drastically in that stint of sitting and combining.

So, if you're frustrated with failure to make the wraps, just start with a lot of raw material, combine all of it to threads, then to bandages and the wraps will be a simple next step.

Of cause, first you need to gather around 80 webs... and that's a pain!

    Glowing Muck Digger
    # Jan 21 2002 at 12:55 AM Rating: Default
Where is the glowing muck digger found?
What tunnel did you go into, Did you go all
the way up north to tunnels that lead to zone?

I have been all over the place killing everything in site and I can't find this glowing muck digger guy anywhere.

    RE: Glowing Muck Digger
    # Feb 02 2002 at 9:33 PM Rating: Decent
I entered Paludal Caverns from Hallowshade Moor and the glowing muck diggers aand the tunnelers are very plentiful there right in front of the zone. Nothing will argo on you and they are easy kill for level 15. Took me maybe 5 minutes to get the stone.
    RE: Glowing Muck Digger
    # Jan 21 2002 at 1:38 PM Rating: Decent
The most common place I have found the glowing muck digger is as follows: Zone in from Shadoweavers Thicket. Follow the path to the first lake. To the right of the first lake is a tunnel that leads to a second small lake. There are numerous muck diggers and grime tunnelers in this area. If you kill the spawns just inside the tunnel near the second lake, or at the edge of the second lake, the glowing muck digger will spawn. He usually spawns after 10-12 kills of regular muck diggers. I have seen and killed him over 10 times now just trying to level in this area. He usually conned blue to even to my level 14 Beastlord. He always drops the glowing heart needed for the quest. Hope this helps you.

    # Jan 17 2002 at 12:35 PM Rating: Default
I am at the part of the BST claw quest that has me making the Sonic Wolf Bane. What I could really use, if anyone has done this, is a step by step on what all to gather, what zones these creatures are in that I gather them from, and what skills i need to raise in order to combine all these items i've gathered

If anyone has seen any Beastlord web sites I am having trouble finding some. Please reply with web links.

I've been browsing through lately, especially on this quest. I have just gotten my reinforced claws, and understand I have to go get hopper tails for the next quest. But up top, it stops there, but everyone else is talking about steps futher. Is there a seperate quest listed somewhere, or is it just not listed here. Where cna I find the info on this. Many thanks in advance. This is turning out to be a fun race/class to play.

you went through the citizenship quest. Go back to the registrar and ask for a new

    Tailoring straps
    # Jan 14 2002 at 3:47 PM Rating: Decent
Notice that u can increase easily ur tailoring skill by sewing hopper hides from saurek in Shadeweaver's Ticket. Very usefull to make straps cause u need at least 24 in tailoring (that was i had when did straps, and i missed a lot with less) to make straps. If u have too much HQ hides u can make also a pretty good 10 slots backpack weight reduce 10 % with a pattern and a HQ hide. Hope that can help u to do that tailor quest !

    Scorpion Legs
    # Jan 11 2002 at 12:14 PM Rating: Decent
I gave The box to Kagazz with the four Scorpion legs inside the box and nothing happen. Do I jest give him the legs. And what is with the box why does it says Combine do I have to combine something else with Kagazz's box? It took me a long time to get the Legs I don't even have enough money to buy bandage's so I spend a lot of time sitting healing up after I fight a Scorpion.
    RE: Scorpion Legs
    # Jan 15 2002 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
I too on my first time getting all 4 legs turned it in and nothing happened. I learned very quickly to hit combine before turning them in. you'll get some practice doing it probably. I had to return to him 8 or 9 other times after I get a couple of hopper claws and tried to make my battle claws. 9 tries later, finally I don't have to worry about it anymore =)

once you collect all the scorpion legs in the box, you have to press combine to get an item that is no longer a container. You hand that item into Kagazz for the Forged Fasteners.

Once you have made your sonicwolf bane claws and turn those in he wants you to go find Ahom Guzhin and said he would probably be found in the moor, i have looked for hours and slaughtered all wolves in sight with my ranger searching for him. He researches the wolves, I even whiped out the cave for a while hoping to find his remains incase they found him and thats all thats left of him. Or he was never put in,but if you see him please post how, what loc etc. Thanks

The claw stats are 10/32 +4 bonus +2 against sonic wolves and the off hand claw has +1 str and dex on top of it and they are Magical now.
