    You say, 'Hail, Shazda Kaekwon'

Shazda Kaekwon says 'Shalom, _____! I welcome you to our humble village in these [trying times].

    You say, 'What trying times?'

Shazda Kaekwon says 'There are many threats currently facing this village. The kobolds of Clan Kolbok are becoming bolder in pushing the boundaries of the territory in which they usually hunt. A few of the kobolds now hunt recklessly, killing for pleasure instead of sustenance. [Rognarog] the Infuriated is the most murderous of such kobolds. Then there are the [heretics] that have been invading both Clan Kolbok and Kejek territories alike, practicing their dark sorceries as a show of devotion to their faceless god.

You say, 'What about the Heretics?'

Shazda Kaekwon says 'The heretics have not only corrupted their own spirits but they defile the spirits of the dead with their evil sorceries. Fill this satchel with the heads of invading heretics and I shall reward you for your allegiance to Kejek.

Receive Burlap Satchel. Inside it, combine four Heretic Heads (any combination of male and female heads works). Then hand in the Satchel of Heretic Heads.

Shazda Kaekwon says 'Less heretics to defile the lands and spirits. You have the gratitude of Kejek for your assistance in repelling the heretic threat.'

Your faction standing with Kejek Village has been adjusted by 8.
Your faction standing with Peace Keepers has been adjusted by 1.
    You gain experience!!
You receive 8 copper from Shazda Kaekwon.
You receive 7 gold from Shazda Kaekwon.
You receive 3 platinum from Shazda Kaekwon.

Sometimes you may receive Kejekan Tribal Headband or Swiftclaw Sash. These are not common, however.

Was wondering if a 42 level ranger can do this quest with the trivial loot rules in SBM?

After spending countless hours in quest of this sash I made myself a promise. If I ever get the sash I would do a post and explain what I went through so others may benefit. So here I am 31 dead heretics, six headbands and one sash later. How long did all this take me you ask….about 40 RL hours, so please learn what you can from my experience. These are my observations so use them as you may but don’t flame me if your experiences don’t agree with mine:
1.) Never forget to click combine (doh)
2.) The name of the mob is “A Heretic Invader”
3.) There are two types, one is Male and one is Female.
4.) The heretics always spawn south of the city (could be due south, could be SE or SW but always south). They never seem to be in exactly the same place and they are always roaming around. (Track is must)
5.) Setup camp close to the city or just south of the city. Use the following spells if you have them:
SOW –you don’t have much time
LEV-this zone is very hilly and unless you have safe fall you should use Lev
INVIS-If you aren’t invised or camo’ed you will have a large greeting party waiting for you when you find the heretic. No matter what you may get some adds in this zone but why invite unwanted guests before your attacking?
PANIC or FEAR –is very useful if the heretic is already under attack when you get there.
6.) You need to be checking track every 10 seconds. If you’re a
Ranger use the Tracksort command and set it to Normal, when it pops it will be at the top of the track window.
7.) Sometimes 2 will spawn at almost the same time or very close to the same time.
8.) Average time between spawns is about one hour and fifteen minutes. ( I have seen them as soon as 10minutes and have also waited 3 hours)
9.) The heretics are often killed by NPC mobs if a PC doesn’t reach them quickly.
10.) On average the heretics stay up for about three minutes before either a PC or NPC kills them.
11.) It doesn’t matter if the heads are male or female
12.) My faction was indifferent the whole time so I don’t think factor is important.
13.) All I handed in was the full bag of heads (combined) nothing else. I had a headband in my inventory but was not wearing it. So don’t worry about giving her extra stuff or whatnot. It’s just a rare reward!

If you have any other questions or you want to see the sash just send me a tell if your on Saryrn.

So finally i get a new account and make an iksar monk, he's level 11 now. My brother has a 49 rogue (with an FBSS) he says i can have his FBSS if i can get him this Swiftclaw Sash. Well, my question is, what level are the Heretics? Where do they spawn? are they in Paineel or Stonebrunt? are they easily soloable for a 49 rogue?
    RE: Levels?
    # Sep 27 2001 at 7:09 AM Rating: Decent
What I know as a lvl 35 rngr hunting in this zone trying to complete a number of the quests. Some Heritics still con blu at 35 although they drop really easy. The ones that con green usually get pasted by wandering kitties before I can get there. If you do manage to intervene in a train caused by a heritic you definitely need to have some kind of fear spell so you can scare the animals away and wait for the heritic to heal up so the corpse doesnt poof when you drop him. Random spawns throughout the zone, would be REALY hard for anyone without track to complete quest. On average I have taken one head in consecutive 5 hour campes over the last 5 days. Most people have to complete this quest 4 or 5 times before they actually get the sash. 20 heads is a tall order!

My guess is it's the Astral Robe quest, and not Swiftclaw Sash, that received the fix. Reasons for this : 1 ) it was *known* to be returning an improper result a while ago, and 2 ) if, as seems to be the case, the Headband is the common result and the Sash is the rare, that seems to me an example of something working as it should rather than something that's bugged.

The heads are dropping for me at level 40.

However I have completed the quest 3 times and have only gotten headbands.

One of those was with 2 male and 2 female heads. I don't believe that the types of head you hand in are relevant.

There seems to be one Heretic spawn every hour, but timing is random. I have seen 2 spawn within 10 minutes of eachother, on two occasions. However that just means it is even longer before the next spawn. Last night there was no spawn for 100 minutes after 2 had spawned in quick succession.

    # Sep 22 2001 at 12:46 PM Rating: Default
Ok folks, I think what the deal here is, is this:

If you turn in four heads of heretics of the same gender, you will get the headband. If you turn in two of each gender, you will get the sash. That seems to be the pattern. I have not done this quest myself yet, but I have 1 male and 1 female head so far. When I finish it, I will turn in 2 male and 2 female, and i will report back with my findings.

I tried the 2 of each kind thing twice and I am now the proud owner of 2 more headbands. It doesn't make a difference.

You might try turning in the heads and a headband? or just try a headband. There's some quests in velious that you turn in the reward item you got to the same person until you get the piece you want.

i've turned in two combined bags (and i've killed more of these heretics but some were before the code was repealed on them) and all i have gotten so far is 2 Kejekan Tribal Headbands. its pretty frustrating can anyone who has the Sash say if it is worth all this? i sure hope on the next two tries i get it, because if not, it'd probably be faster just to level and earn enough to buy a bloody FBSS instead. also, does anyone know what the Headbands are worth? i've seen no quotes as yet.

Ok heres the story. I've done this quest for the past week. I've turned 16 heads so far. Guess what i've got to show for it.....faction and 4, count them, 4 tribal headbands. now obviously the sash is a random or rare reward, whatever the case my be. my question is does anybody know if there might be a certain ratio of male to female heads to get the sash? i'm wondering cause i have spent way too much time out in this damm everything agro-ing zone to not at least see one of these sashes. anyway if anybody has any advise, my ears are open. thanks

I have only gotten three heads so far...but I've been told you have a 25% chance of getting the sash when you complete the quest. I just leave my ranger twink in zone and login in early in the morning and before I log my main to do a bit of tracking. I'd say its well worth hanging around the zone for quite awhile. I haven't camped the fbss much but from what I hear its a long one....that's if you actually find it not camped.
    Sash??
    # Sep 13 2001 at 6:03 AM Rating: Default
Uhm, I hate to interrupt the argument over the trivial loot codes and all, but since the argument is now trivial after the last patch, could we talk about the sash now???? Guess I'm lucky, I got the four heads fairly easily (lvl 30, using track), combined them (3 female, 1 male), ran to litterbox and got the sash. Anyway, call me a n00b, but I'm a little confused here. How does the effect work???? I tried right clicking it, nothing. Is this an automatic effect or what? And what the heck does proc mean anyway??
I'd really appreciate an answer from some Uber out there with the patience to pat some dumb n00b on the head and answer a few questions, LOL
    RE: Sash??
    # Sep 13 2001 at 12:57 PM Rating: Decent
Wear this item and it will grand you haste. This "effect" does not have to be clicked, just wear it. Haste will lower the delay (theoroaticly) of the weapons, thus letting them swing faster.
    RE: Sash??
    # Sep 18 2001 at 10:35 AM Rating: Decent
There's no theoretically about it. If it has effect permanent haste, you're always hasted. You don't run any faster, you swing faster. The calculation is 100 + %haste = x, then 100/x *delay = new delay. so if this sash has 20% haste
    100 + 20 = 120, then 100/120 = 8.333 say you have an arbitors combine 30dmg 43dly 8.333 * 43 = 35.8333, so about a 36 delay.

If a weapon procs haste or has effect right clickable haste, then those will stack with this sash. No haste items stack, unless one is effect permanent and the other procs or right clicks haste.
    RE: Sash??
    # Sep 21 2001 at 4:54 AM Rating: Default
I dont know what planet you are from Einstien, but 100/120 will NEVER EVER = 8.333, and where you got these wacky formulas in the first place, i dunno. You are right about the permanent haste tho.
    RE: Sash??
    # Sep 22 2001 at 12:43 PM Rating: Default
Get a calculator, he meant 0.8333

    ...

    .8333*43 DOES = 35.8319 like he said.

    Trivial Update!!!
    # Sep 12 2001 at 1:20 PM Rating: Decent
As of the Patch on Sept 11, the Heretic's Heads are NOT subject to the trivial loot code.

I was tracking down my 4th heretic and just got all buffed up to attack him (only level blue to me) and I see:

UberRanger57 say out of character, 'Hail heretic invader, prepare to die!'

Then he proceeds to waste him in about 15 seconds. I was shattered. This was the 2nd time THAT DAY that I just barely missed my 4th heretic. Lucky for me though, I started cursing and he says 'oh, were you after this guy?' When I told him yes, he said 'Go ahead and take his head then, I just was curious what faction I'd get to kill him.'

Yes, the head was still on the body even though he was WAYYYY over trivial level for a Heretic invader.

Result, my YoungRanger26 got his 4th head (2 female, two male), ran to the "Litterbox" and combined the heads and turned them in to receive his shiny new Swiftclaw Sash!!!
