This is the Vah Shir Beastlord quest series. You must first do the citizenship quest.

    Part 1 - Handwraps

Animist Poren needs to see your Acrylia Slate.

Animist Poren says "I have much for you to do . There is a great need for capable Khati Sha in this new land. It is important that you progress speedily. We need to outfit you with the equipment that defines our chosen path. We'll start with your battleclaws, but be aware of the fact that it will take you some time.before you can use both sets in combat. Just keep them both with you while you learn.

Animist Poren says "Take this stitching pack and combine two shadeling silks from the xakra worms. Combine two of the threads to make a bandage. Take this pattern and sew together three of the bandages. With considerable practice this will produce the handwraps that will be a foundation for your first sacred weapon. When you have created them retuen to me the scrap material.

He then gives you a Khati Sha Handwrap Pattern and a Stitching Pack.

    To make the handwraps:

    (1) Combine two shadeling silks in the Stitching Pack to make a Shade Silk Thread. Silks are found on the Xakla Larvae in the pit (Shar Vahl) and on the Xakla Silkworms in Shadeweaver's Thicket.
    (2) Combine 2 Shade Silk Threads in the Stitching Pack to make a Shade Silk Bandage.
    (3) Combine 3 Shade Silk Bandages and the Khati Sha Handwrap Pattern to make Khati Sha Handwraps.

Successfully making the Handwraps (which is possible with a Tailoring skill of 4 - though unlikely!) also generates a Silk Scrap. Return the scrap to Animist Poren for part 2 of the quest

    Part 2 - Claws

Upon giving Animist Poren the Shade Silk Scraps:

Animist Poren says, 'That took quite some time considering the simplicity of the task. Please _______, work on becoming more efficient. We have much to do and time is of the essence. In your stitching pack, combine the handwraps, two young hopperclaws and forged fasteners. Return to me with the resulting claws and your [initiate's cloak.]'

    You gain experience!

    You say, 'What initiate's cloak?'

Animist Poren says, 'You should have received your initiate's cloak if you presented your acrylia slate and notarized application to Elder Animist Sahdi. You can give those two items to him if you have not already and receive your cloak.'

You say, 'What are forged fasteners?'

Animist Poren says, 'Perhaps one of our smiths can assist you with the forged fasteners. I'd check the armory.'

Ask Kagazz about "Forged Fasteners". He is behind the armoury by the forge at (/loc 254, -182, -189).

You say, 'Can you make forged fasteners?'

Kagazz squints as he reads your lips, 'Fasteners you say? Show me your slate and I'll make you a deal.

Give him your Acrylia Slate of Sharl Vahl. He returns it and says:

Kagazz says, 'My wife is making some jewelry. Not the sparkly stuff, mind you. She is nearly blind so appearance means little to her. She is intent on making jewelry with a more, uhh, natural feel. Currently she's constructing a special scorpion leg necklace, and is in need of more scorpion legs. I can't leave the shop so I need your help. Fill this box with scorpion legs and I'll pay you with metal fasteners that any merchant will gladly buy.'

Collect four NO TRADE "Scorpion Leg" or four "Scorpion Legs" (these latter are marked as QUEST ITEM and are stackable). Either will work but they cannot be mixed. Combine these in the box Kagazz gave you to receive Box of Scorpion Legs. Return this to him to receive one (1) Forged Fasteners. Also note that the fasteners are NO TRADE so any merchant will not, in fact, gladly buy them as he claimed.

    Upon Turn in:

Kagazz says, 'Ahh, _______! I thank you, my wife will be most grateful. Here are the fasteners I promised you. You know ______, there was a time that young, would-be smiths would seek my approval so that they could study the ways of the forge under my tutelage. That was back when I was Master Smith, before I named Barkhem my successor.'
    You gain experience!

    Combine:

    1x Forged Fastners,
    2x Young Hopperclaw,
    1x Khati Sha Handwraps,
    In the Stitching Pack

On successful combine, you receive Primary Silk Khati Sha Claw and Secondary Silk Khati Sha Claw. NOTE: the Handwraps are lost in the combine and are not returned in a later stage of the quest.

Return both Silk Khati Sha Claws AND your Initiate's Cloak of Shar Vahl to Animist Poren. Animist Poren is at 275, 47, -258. Enter the castle (west central district), descend the stairs, and turn right. Walk through the arch and turn right again. Descend the stairs at the end of the hallway. Enter the door and take the door on your left. Animist Poren is in this room.

    Upon Turn In:

Animist Poren says "Well, you're off to a slow start, but it is a start. You will do well to accomplish your tasks in a more timely fashion. You have chosen a path full of trials, . I say again, time is of the essence. Take my seal to Mahron Sood and prepare yourself for the upcoming challenges."

    You gain experience!

You recieve: Reinforced Primary/Secondary Claws as well as the Cloak of The Khati Sha Recruit and the Seal of Animist Poren

Animist Poren shouts " Friends, I have news to share! It has taken longer than it should, but at last has completed our initiatory tasks and will now be given the priveleges reserved for the Khati Sha recruits!. Soon we hope to have this citizen ready to aid in the exploring of this new land. Please give support in whatever ways you can and trouble this recruit as little as possible, for seems to be easily distracted."

I'm having a hard time with my Beastlord recruit quest to make the battleclaws. I have gathered a number of silks from the worms in Shadeweaver's Thicket, but when I put them into the box o combine them, The game says I cannot use the stitching Kit to send them stuff
    HQ Hopper Hides
    # May 03 2002 at 8:17 AM Rating: Decent
I have been killing young rockhoppers and needle claw hoppers for a couple of days now and finally got their hide drops, but neither of them were HQ. Do the HQ hides drop in Shar Val or do I need to go somewhere else?
    RE: HQ Hopper Hides
    # May 05 2002 at 6:28 PM Rating: Default
HQ hides can drop off of the needle-clawed hoppers in Shar Vahl and Shadeweaver, the saurek line of hoppers in Shadeweaver, and the rockhoppers in Hollowshade. The only hoppers I have found so far that apparently do not drop HQ hides are the greyhoppers in Marus Seru; they seem to drop only LQ hides and greyhopper hides.
    RE: HQ Hopper Hides

You need to go to Shadeweaver's Thicket, and kill the needle claw hoppers there.

my personal suggestion is to go after the saureks. they drop the upper quality hides more often than the needle clawed variety. as far as silks go, when its not "raining" the worms are far more active, so you know. my tailoring was at 32 when i did this, and i had very little difficulty with any of it. good luck fellow khati sha!

After I copleted the Wolfsbane claws and talksed to Ghuzin in the moore, returned the notebook he gave me and recieved the ear ring. I was sent with a note to find General Avilah. I have been seemingly everywhere and cant find him. Does anyone know were he is/roams?
    RE: General Avilah
    # Apr 26 2002 at 5:36 PM Rating: Decent
    General Avilah is at p385, p422 n140

He is in a room on the little-noticed 3rd story in the city. From the North Gate coming into the city, turn right and go to the farthest building. On the South side of that building are some stairs. Honor Guard Siiv was there when I checked just now. At the top of the stairs, you can walk onto a platform where the guard is. Walk around the guard and there is another set of stairs. Go in the door at the top of the stairs, turn right and go in the side room, there he is.

I will submit this information to Illia.

    handwraps
    # Apr 17 2002 at 12:36 PM Rating: Excellent
I'm having trouble making the FIRST part of this: the plain ol' handwraps. My tailoring skill is 18 and I've attempted this about five times now. How long does it take? I'm getting seriously annoyed, and sick of fighting silkworms that don't give me xp anymore. Is my pattern broken?
    RE: handwraps
    # Apr 19 2002 at 11:43 PM Rating: Decent
If you are getting failure message and your pattern disappears, your pattern is not broken. I had to do it 3 times, and I had to go back to Poren each time and give him my acrylia slate to get a new pattern.

Lesser Shades in Shadeweaver also drop silk. They are higher than worms, and frequent areas that have yet higher mobs occasionally, so you can mix supply gathering and experinece gathering, unlike the pit. You'll be back there soon enough, hunting young rockhoppers.

If you're getting seriously annoyed, might as well max out your tailoring at the guildmaster, you're only a couple of points away, but one poster said (s)he got the claws (the next part) on the first try at 21. See my post here "When to hit Combine."

I feel your pain, Danseurai. If you are on Prexus, you can hit me up for some free silk.

I have been killing the sonic wolf pups and wolflings in the Moor for the last 2 days, and still not a single Molar. Am I doing something wrong or are they just that rare. I've been killing them just east of the outpost.

    # May 06 2002 at 3:45 PM Rating: Default
I got my teeth over by the zone to Grimling Forest, before they started the war. I got one molar off a pup and one off a Wolf. I went later to try for Tendons, yikes lots of Wolves about. Be very careful.

    # Apr 21 2002 at 3:24 AM Rating: Decent
I'm in the same boat, must have killed at least 4 dozen pups. I am hunting in the same place.

I had almost killed a pup when it despawned, only to be replaced by several grimling bodyguards (red of course). Dang war!

Some of you have got past this part, where did you find your molars? I read here that they drop off pups and wolflings, although Kaam just said pups.

    RE: Molars
    # Apr 22 2002 at 2:43 AM Rating: Decent
I killed about 250 pups near the outpost and no molars dropped. I leveled up some and then killed pups and wolflings near the second bridge and 2 molars dropped within 10 minutes.

    When to hit Combine?
    # Apr 09 2002 at 7:13 AM Rating: Decent
So far, I have burned 8 young hopperclaws and 16 scorpion legs trying to get Part II done. My tailoring is up to 20. This post says it is possible at 20, trivial around 90, but eqtraders.com says it is trivial at <40. And possible or not, it still failed at 20.

I am damn tired of tracking down young rockhoppers, and killing greenies in the pit in general. I.e., I would rather not waste another pair of claws.

So my question is, at what tailoring skill is it LIKELY that I will succeed?

Just to give you hope in some aspects yet anger in other I made my Primary and Secondary Claws at an awful Tailoring skill of 9 however, it did take me 8 attempts but I made it. Now I am stuck yet again trying to kill greenies (for HQ hopper hides) to further this quest. Some ask is it worth it? I believe so, for now at lower levels. Hardly any weight and a low delay makes for quicker hits. Bare with it and stick it out... I am. Good luck to all and be safe.

    # Mar 22 2002 at 12:38 PM Rating: Default
When at the stage of turning in the combined hopper tails to Rittuh, I recieved nothing in return which kills the quest at that point as you lack the needed notes to either continue or redo. A fruitless effort of petitioning a GM resulted in a "thank you" for reporting a possible bug. After several failed attemps to redo this quest at various stages it became appearant that I was doomed do to the lack of proper items needed, basically the recuite cloak that is given at the compleation of the citizenship quest. So, what I had to do was restart a new BL and run through the Citizenship quest up to the last step (this process was outlined under the coment section for that quest). What you do is give the Guildmaster the then note item but not your slate. He says something to the effect that he needs more than this. At tuhis point log out with new char and come back in with old whom is previously camped at this location. Then after giving guildmaster just the slat you recieve a new recuite cloak. Note that had already destroyed most of the old quest items such as my cloak and upgraded claws prior to this step. From this point I was able to go to Poren and redo the quest from the start.I know this is working because I have gotten a couple steps beyond the hopper tails.

    You say, 'Hail, Rittuh Purrik'

Rittuh Purrik says 'Good day Veath, or is it evening already? I can never tell. Stock up on goods while you're here and if you see any grimlings, please, make them suffer. My husband was tortured by the grunts in the forest. ''

"She gives you a Bag which you need to Fill with the rock Hopper Tails. after filling it. return it to her and she gives you a Note" she is located in the Hut outside the City in Holloshade Moor

Rittuh Purrik says 'Well, look at you! You're quite the hunter. Not a bad job at all, young citizen. We can sure use a few more like you. I think a little padding of your daily report is in order considering the amount of work that you've done for us. Take this back to citizen Miann. She'll be pleased with you. I wrote it up pretty nice for you. Take care and good luck with your training. '
Your faction standing with Guardians of Shar Vahl got better.
    You gain experience!!

"OK Next go back into Vahi Shir to the Talor Shop. Go upstaris and give Kery the report from Rittuh Purrik"

    You say, 'Hail, Kery Miann'

Kery Miann says 'Greetings, young one. May I help you? '

Kery Miann says 'You have done very well, youth. I hope that you are beginning to
understand what it means to walk the path of Khati Sha. Public service is very important. Our namesake was a fundamental figure in the foundation of this society. Our walls are made of the ore that he discovered. His exploration of the land that surrounds our home made it possible for us to live here in peace. This leads us to your next lesson. I would like you to seek out the caverns beyond the thicket. A breed of shelled creatures roam the tunnels of those caverns. Occasionally, a strange glow will manifest itself in one of these creatures. Find such a creature and bring me the source of its glow. Wrap the light source in your Khati Sha recruit's cloak and place them both in this box. '

Your faction standing with Khati Sha got better.
    You gain experience!!

"ok at this Point. you must go to Paludal Caves and Kill the Muckdiggers.. one will spawn that is a Glowing. kill that one and loot the Heart.

Combine it with you Recruits Cloak in the Box that Kery Miann gave you. and return it to her"

Kery Miann opens the box and removes your old cloak. She unwraps the orb and looks at it for a moment. 'You have done well, youth.' She says as she picks up what appears to be a new cloak. She hands you the cloak and smiles. 'Your life as a member of our sect may not always be pleasant, but take comfort in the fact that you are performing a great service to your people. Walk the path of Khati Sha with pride and one day you may see his face as I have. Now, seek out Kaam Rahiir in the libraries. Show him your claws and he will be able to assist you in imbuing them magically. Take care. '

Kery Miann shouts 'Citizens of Shar Vahl, take this time to welcome Veath to the level of Khati Sha Apprentice. We are all in the debt of each and every citizen that works a hard as Veath to improve our city. '

Your faction standing with Khati Sha got better.
    You gain experience!!

Next you must go and see the Bard in the Palace.
Hand him both of your Claws and his gives you the Rest of the quest.

Kaam Rahiir turns to you and squints at the claws that you've just given him. 'I see that you've been getting some use out of these things. They are crude, but they seem sturdy enough.' He says as he returns the claws. He hands you small bag and continues. 'I hope the combat you've seen has made an impression on you, young friend. Combat is not pleasant, but it is often unavoidable. We are explorers and conflict often breeds in the unknown. Learn from each encounter and you are less likely to be trapped by conflict in the future. '

Kaam Rahiir says 'In preparation for your journey down the path of Khati Sha, you will need to seek out the wolves of the moor. You will need to learn the behavior and abilities of this enemy. Once you have tracked and met these beasts, I will teach you how to best dispose of them in the future. Place two molars from the mouth of one of their pups in that bag and return to me. That will guarantee that you've come face to face with your foe. '

"ok at this point you must travel to Hollowshade Moor again. and kill Sonic Wolklings and Pups till they drop 2 molers. Combine them in the bag that Kaam Rahiir gave you. then return the Bag to him"

Kaam Rahiir says 'May I help you? '

Kaam Rahiir says 'Excellent, the spirits have returned you to me with your tail intact! The foe that you encountered was a young creature. Their elders are much less likely to allow your passage. The packs of wolves that roam the moor have proven to be quite a problem for our scouts. I will assist you in learning a method that will allow you to build and assist others in building a weapon that bites at the very spirit of those beasts. Take these claw mounts and use them in conjunction with the tomes that Qua sells. You'll need stretching dowels to treat the lashings. Jhimis usually keeps them behind the counter of his shop. Get a set from him and read through those tomes. Return to me with your new claws and your apprentice's cloak when you have completed the task. '

Your faction standing with Khati Sha got better.
    You gain experience!!

"ok at this point you need to find Qua he is by the Palace where the Bard is at but in another Room. you can by the Tomes and Weapons Assembely Kit from him. i think the total cost was about 6pp Read the Tombs.. for they tell you how to start on the Sonic Wolf Bane Quest which is the next part to the Claw Quest. "

    You say, 'Hail, Jhimis Khadwi'
You say, 'Looking for a Stretching dowels'

Jhimis Khadwi says 'Aye, I have a few left, but they are a big seller right now and I don't know when I'm going to get more in stock. Perhaps we can barter for a set. If you can gather two small owlbear claws and show me your apprentice's cloak, I'll guess that I can justify given you a set of dowels. I'll also be able to make some earrings for my girlfriend. I'm sure she'll love that! '

ok. the Claws drop off of Owlbear Pups and Gathers in Hollowshade Moor. Note this are not the Ones in the Cave.. but the Ones that are Roaming outside. Also look out for any Tendions that Drop.. you will need those too

I see the sonic wolf pups all the time just East of the Vah Shir outpost.

Well, I did for a couple of days, then it was owlbears that were all over near the outpost. It seems to be subject to the vagaries of the war.

On that note: Sometimes developments in the war (e.g., Grimling Prince appearing, message appears across zone) will cause the guards at the gate (and maybe others) to despawn for several minutes. Good to know if you are using guards for protection.

After the hoppers is the glowing muck digger in Paludal. The other bugs drop muck covered hearts, this one is supposed to drop a glowing heart.

I have read that you kill muck diggers to make it spawn. However, I found one consistently today at n2962 n888, the south entrance to the southeasternmost cavern in the zone. He conned white to my 14 Beastlord, and he always had a dk blue grime tunneler right beside him. I could see at least one more glowing muck digger beyond the one at the door.

I found soloing muck diggers quite easy, which in hindsight made me overconfident. I made four attempts solo on glowbug, clearing all diggers from my path and casting flash of light on either glowbug or grime tunneler from up the hill in the tunnel. The non-blinded one would of course immediately aggro on me. The blinded one would either run up the tunnel and find me or run into cavern, causing a digger, grime tunneler or another glowbug to aggro on me. Diggers would often pop where I had cleared them, and even the otherwise quiet mud burrowers would join the party. I was lucky if I only ended up with only 4 mobs on me and the warder, always at least two that were stronger than the diggers I found so easy. I died twice.

That was this morning, and I am about to go at it again as soon as I finish this post (4/18 2200 CDT). Hopefully, I will have better luck tonight finding a group......

It was an easy solo on glowbug and grime tunneler once I killed enough muck diggers to make 15 and get my spells. 15th level Beastlord warders ROCK!

Aye, Ahom is out on Antonius too. Dont know wheteher hes triggered or just happen to be involved in an event. All i know is that those grimmlings stopped to respawn while i was working on my bane quest. ;) To add it up they killed all my wolfies! Grimmling defenders and invaders aswell as Owlbear defenders/invaders popped every now and then and attacked each other.
The thing seems to have stopped at this point on Antonius. I am just a 20 Beastlord and had lotta fun being summoned be those defenders i tried to attack to help the owlbears ;)
Ahom wants the journeyman cloak which is the result of the bane quest too, not the apprentice one. Since i couldnt finish my quest, i have no clue what kind of task Ahom is giving out.

how rare are the hopper tails i killed many rockhoppers but only got 1 :(. After you do that part what do u do?
    RE: hopper tails
    # Apr 23 2002 at 9:36 AM Rating: Decent
Out of the 6 dozen or so rockhoppers I killed, I found 1 tail. The other 5 came from people who found them and didn't need them, who sent me tells or /ooc. I don't think anyone but beastlords need these, so make an announcement when you hit the zone. They are no drop, so don't bother offering to buy them.

Also, I was hunting immediately South of the Shar Vahl gate when I had such poor luck with the tails dropping. Later (after Paludal and muck digger), I got another Beastlord and a Bard to help me kill pups for molars East of the outpost. When I found out the other BL was on the tails part of the quest, we started pulling hoppers too. No molars, but he got 4 of his tails that night. Go figure.

The details after this part are in a big post on this board - see "More Information on this Quest." In short:
    1. 6 tails, combine, give to Rittuh for an Exaggerated Report.
    2. Give report to Kery, sends you to Paludal for heart of Glowing Muck Digger, fairly rare mob but not the drop, and while in the caverns you can make up some of the exp you didn't get while grubbing in the pit for claws.
    3. Back to Kery, she sends you to Kaam, who sends you back to Hollowshade for 2 wolf pup molars.
    4. Cross your fingers and hope you have better luck than I have had getting them to drop, killed dozens and still have none.

Ahom is up on the Firona Vie server...

This pertains to the next part of the wolf bane quest... Last evening Hollowshade Moor was turned up-side-down when Grimlings attacked the outpost. Ahom is in the cave leading to Grimling Forest hiding behind a rock. Once you hail him he asks for your Apprentice Cloak. If you give him your cloak he gives you a book and asks that you take this book to Historian Sharar. After giving Sharar teh book she gives you an earring (effect immunity to owlbear screech) and a letter to take to General Avilah. The General is located on the north side of Shar Vahl on the third floor of a building in a small room. He is very easy to overlook him... I did 5 times atleast. Once you give him the letter he gives you a 4 slot box, and asks for Grimling Chieftain Staff, Owlbear Guardian Talon, Sonic Wolf Guardian Fang, and your Apprentice Cloak that Ahom gave back. This is as far as I got last evening... There are many more events happening in the Moor as of lastnight, even a Grimling Prince and his bodyguards take over the outpost... Took out the Prince and he dropped 3 descent weapons... a dagger, mace, and shield. Will have to post stats later on them... Anyone else have any more information as to what the heck is going on in the Moor now?

He actually wants the JOURNEYMAN'S cloak.. Not the Apprentice..
    Just so ya know. =)
    Different scorpion legs?
    # Mar 01 2002 at 10:44 PM Rating: Default
I spent over 2 hours finding the 4 scorpion legs, and when I tried combining them, I got the "You cannot combine these..." message.
I know I'm combining them in the correct box, and all four legs stack, so is there something I'm missing or doing wrong?
    Anyone else have this problem?
    RE: Different scorpion legs?
    # Mar 02 2002 at 4:21 AM Rating: Default
You want the no drop ones not the stackable ones... They drop off scorpions in the pit.

Well.. You dont do the combining your self.. You must hail an npc inside shar vahl named something like Kagazz or similar..

He stands outside the smithing merchant.. (If you listen, you will hear kind of a strange sound, like some jingeling sound..)

Hail him, and say "what about forged fasteners". He will then give you a box.. put the 4 claws in there, and hit combine, and give it back. You will then get "forged fasteners" wich you combine to get the claws..

it's odd but i just did the part where you combine the handwrap, fasteners, and claws and when i turned the finished claws and cloak he gave me back THREE claws. I got back the 2 original which i think are like 5/36 but also got an extra secondary claw that had a slightly different name and was 6/30. This happen to anybody else?
    RE: extra claw
    # Mar 14 2002 at 7:14 AM Rating: Default
You actually shoulda gotten 2 pair of claws: the first set you turned in AND a pair of 6/30 claws. The 5/36 claws are now fodder for your destroy button. The 6/30 pair is what is used to make the 7/28 pair.

After you get the hopper tails, combine them, and give them back to her, you get more exp/faction and take a note she gives you back to Kery Miann. Miann congratulates you, blah blah bllah, and tells you that you need to go to the Shadeweaver's Thicket caves and find the source of like in the "shelled creatured". Put the source of light(I'm assuming a Chitin wing or some sort I've looted before) and your cloak and combine them and bring it back to her....we'll see.

after you get the tails you have to combine a glowing muck digger heart with your cloak, the heart comes from the glowing muck digger in paludal

    Rasing Tailoring Skill
    # Feb 23 2002 at 10:45 PM Rating: Decent
It seems to me the Rockhoppers in the pit was very rare. I am convince the higher level you are the harder it is to find the Rockhoppers. It took me a very long time to finish the Rockhopper part of the quest. I did find that the more lower level players; that was in the area the greater the frequency of finding the Rockhoppers. The best place is by the North gate. The real reason for this post is to get feedback of the best way of raising tailoring skill. My skill level is now 47 ( I got lucky and made the Black Chitin Belt ) for The Tailoring quest I am making studded leather armor which use’s Medium Quality Hopperhides. But finding the Medium hides is become very time consuming. Does anyone have a better way? Also after the Studded Leather ( Trivial at 56 ) the next is Backpack which is 90. Is there anything between the Studded leather and backpack? I have the Beastlord (Cloak of the Khati Sha Apprentice) cloak which increases tailoring Skill Modifier Plus 2% and the Blessed Champion's Cape which gives Plus 3 in Wisdom. Which would be better to wear when tailoring is the increases in wisdom better or the 2 Percent Mod chance better any thoughts?

The spawn rate of young rockhoppers does not change with mere presence of higher level PC's. I was down there hunting needle claws but couldn't find hardly any, all the hoppers were young!

EQ Traders is a great place to learn more about just about any of the trade skills. Try

    http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_tailoring.htm

It's a great site. it covers Luclin equivalencies (HQ cat pelt? Can I substitute HQ hopperhide?), Luclin-specific recipes, and even a list of Luclin drops that are used in various trades.

A lot of this info is also available here on allakhazam, of course, being the most complete general database of EQ that there is. E.g.

    https://everquest.allakhazam.com/Skills/Tailorr.htm

has all your basics in a very straightforward format, but not a word there yet (23-04-02) about Luclin, hopperhides or shadeling silk. EQTraders has the Luclin recipes and drops sorted out, which is proving quite useful to my Vah Shir.

I still think the new Beastlord class is just a cover for the Vah Shir Quilting Society.

Scorpions are the place holders for young rockhoppers in the pit. Killing a bunch of scorpions usually results in loads of rockhoppers.

On getting the hides farm needle claw hoppers, they drop everything from high quality to damaged. Still is somewhat time consuming but quicker than hunting the other ones...happy tailoring:)

    sonic wolf bane claws
    # Feb 23 2002 at 4:44 AM Rating: Default
after you get the mounts, the real fun begins. you head to the building with Kery Miann, and downstairs behind a desk is a male vah shir. you have to get stretching dowels from him. ask him about it, or show him your cloak. then head to hollowshade, and get two owlbear claws, put them in the bag, combine, and return them to the npc. you will get your stretching dowels. in order to get your next claw upgrade, you will need an item from each class of vah shir, who is also doing the quest.

    Warrior: Porous Metal Claws
    Bard : Ceramic Claw Sheath
    Rogue : Sonic Wolf Bane
    Shaman : Reactive Sealant Soak

and of course, the part the Beastlord makes, toughened sinew lashings.

to make the lashings, you need

Kelp Salts--- from a moor tortoise
Fish Oil Soaked Rags--- Grimling Fisherman
    Owlbear Tendon--- Owlbear
    Sonic Wolf Tendon--- Sonic Wolf

Combine these 4 items plus the stretching dowel in a large stitching kit. if your tailoring skill is high enough, you get toughened sinew lashings.

Combine the 5 items, plus the claw mounts in the weapon assembly kit you buy from Qua, and combine.

You are now the proud owner of Sonic Wolf Bane Claws... Congrats

The next step of the quest hasn't gone live yet, or at least not on the Bertoxx server.

    Good luck
