You say, 'Hail, Bellfast?' Bellfast says 'Hello there. It's good to see faces from the aboveworld. Most of the time all I get to see are metallic faces, not that I mind that much. The benefit of mechanical bodies is that we don't really age. Why, I reckon that I'm gettin' near to three hundred years now. Of course, there are drawbacks too. Parts wear out. When they all wear out, then I guess we've reached old age. I'm always looking for parts, so if you happen to come across any parts that one of them nasty Creep Reapers might not need any longer, why I'd be grateful if you could bring them to me. If I can use them I'll gladly pay you for them. I'm not wealthy, but I'll pay a fair price if I can. I am also looking for some [scraps of paper] if you can find them.' If you don't have some Mechanoinstruction Scraps (looted from creep reapers in your inventory, you'll see this: You say, 'What scraps of paper?' Bellfast says 'Well, there are these pages that I need. . . I'm not sure how to describe them, but I'll know one when I see it! If you find one, come back and tell me that you have one of the [scraps of paper] and then we can talk.' If you do have Mechanoinstruction Scraps, you'll see this instead: Bellfast says 'Oh! I see you have part of a mechanoinstruction! I need a few of those to make myself work better. If you can get me some of the complete [mechanoinstructions] I will give you a manual that will tell you how to make them. If you help me with this, I may have more you can [help me with].' You say, 'What mechanoinstructions?' Bellfast says 'A Mechanoinstruction is a small piece of parchment with holes in it in a certain pattern. These holes tell the machinery what it should do. We happen to have a few of them inside of us to help the various parts of us work.' You say, 'What can I help you with?' You have been assigned the task 'Parts for Bellfast'. Bellfast says 'Go see Merchant Model CGXIV near the bankers and ask him about my [pinion gears] and he will give you a bundle that I need, and bring them back to me.' What level do you have to be to do this task? at level 62, my mage gets nada...

The mechanoinstruction scraps also drop off the mechanical spider mobs (forgot exactly what they are called). The only issue with this is they give negative faction hits with the merchants and quest giver Clockwork guys.

It would help to know what class got this result. When my enchanter started this quest I was told to get the new spell research kit and make the pages for the book. I am still trying to get all the parts before I can finish the quest. Am at 8 or 9 of the 10 different scraps.

This looks like it's going to have something to do with tradeskillers in the end and a book reward telling them what to do withtheir seals they get from their cultural tradeskiller quest givers. and most possibly .. tinkering too

Here something interesting, 70 Mage, 65 beasty and me (60 chanter) was doing this quest as soon as i got the book together and hail the g-nome a task open a new zone. So when you do this quest have some folks with you. We tried to go through the zone but we couldn't get far because of the mobs kicked our backside. What we seen of the zone: 1st floor you see mech-gnome standing outside a elevator he was red to me and scowled, ran past him uninvised, he didn't attack. 2nd floor we got trained by 15 or so of those lizards down there we got past one thanks to high nuking and pet action. 3rd floor had 3 mobs packed close together i was not able to pacify them so all 3 came and we got turned into road kill. If anyone goes down there PLEASE let me know what on and past the 3rd floor!!!

Creep reaper drops stackable items called Mechanoinstruction scraps. If they do not stack with each other, ID will tell which you have.

Unfortunately with the spell Identify, as far as I know, a player has to have the item on their cursor and once you have looted it you cant put it back on the corpse for someone else to loot, and thereby update their task, if you happen to already have that particular scrap. Also not everyone has the Identify spell or easy access to a clicky with Identify.
There is however another means of identifying them while still on the corpse so that you can be sure someone who actually needs that particular scrap will be the one that gets to loot it and this would make obtaining these items in groups more feasible.
The trick is to make a link with a ; (semicolon) in front of it and no space in between, also I found that your default chat mode should be set to "say". If done correctly you will see a message that says "invalid command" followed by a string of characters that will look something like "002ABC0000000000000005204777". The characters in front of all the zero's are the unique identification number for the item and the numbers for the corresponding scraps for the Parts for Bellfast task, as they appear on your Task Window (Alt Q), are as follows:
1st "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FDB
2nd "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FDC
3rd "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FDD
4th "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FDE
5th "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FDF
6th "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FE0
7th "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FE1
8th "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FE2
9th "Mechanoinstruction Scrap" listed = 007FE3
