Raid Encounter
This is the second named in the Cursed cycle. Spawns when a glyph covered serpent is slain.
Will despawn if not engaged within about 30 minutes. Flurries and comes equipped with an AE confusion/DD spell and death touch.
Upon its death, Vyzh`dra the Cursed will spawn.

Solo'd by a lvl 70 Shaman pre-PoR.
Stop biznitching about the DT. I down this guy with 3 tunes...theirs nothing HARD about this mob whatsoever....just send some slacker to die, and stop trying to avoid it.
just did whole cycle with 7 peeps had 2 massive dps rogs 2 clerics and a good MT
We did it with 4. A Bard, ENC, Rogue and the bard's cleric BoT. It was pretty easy. The other 2 in the group farmed the mob regularly so they knew what was up.
I tried it later with a total of 6 people (my second try, hoping for a memory some day) and we wiped quickly. The MT LD'ed and the cleric wasn't waiting for people to stop zoning to rez them so the rez's were very delayed waiting on a second cast. A good reminded that Skill/knowledge > Gear/XP.

Notes: The damage output of this mob is neither impressive nor dangerous. If you can kill the Glyphed Covered Serpent or Runed Covered Serpent to spawn her you should have no problems at all healing your tanks.
A good place to fight her is the center of the room at the Shissar monument surrounded by walls. Push her along the wall, back and forth (don't pin her against the wall - you risk knocking her through/over it). No problem. Bring a bard for resistance songs. With 500 fire resistance Abysmal Banishment and Pyrokinetic Hallucinations didn't hit me a single time.
The only problem with Vyzh'dra are her deathtouches. She DT'es about once every one to two minutes. Assign someone to drag corpses, assign one necro/cleric for battle rez. Let your dragger drag the corpse behind the wall and rez there. Your success will depend on how quickly you can revive your tanks and send them back into battle and of course your general DPS.
There is a chance that you can interrupt the DT spell but it's not easy at all, push Vyzh'dra back and forth along the wall behind which the clerics are hiding and you might get lucky now and then and interrupt it.

Just thought id add that DT of hers hurts LOL 20k whench nailed me with it.
It's not really DT. It's actually just a 20k nuke. Moreso a HT on steroids. DT was raised to 100k but this is still 20k. A few very large tanks with high spell shield can tank through this nuke.

Why not have a caster bind then die in a prep area, leave their gear on their corpse and go cast tash or somesuch spell on this mob to pull it, taking the DT...
Let main tank aggro and away you go.... Caster loots gear and joins his group who follow on in... Buff caster if you have the time....

Is there something special about these areas of Luclin that do not allow binding ? I thought casters could bind anywhere, not just cities.
Not that the idea of binding in a prep area would be that great of a plan. This is not a single time HT for 20k, it's every 2 minutes.

Nearest place to bind is the zone before the Grey (Mons Letalis I think it is).
yes thats not an awful idea if you can bind there. Also maybe a DA or HS could be used to absorb that touch. or just scaracfice the person that made the last mistake :)
Drops Windspeeder too. Same one as Glyphed.

He dropped a braided strand of corrpted mana tonight for us as did GCS. I like the whip, but a BBE would have been so much nicer.

DA/DB puts one at the bottom of the hate list. In this time they are invulnerable to ANY spell. Basically, if someone were to DA in anticipation of a DT, the mob would simply DT the next person on the hate list.

Actually, I was incorrect. DT is a special ability like HT, NOT a spell. So, it is unresistable just as being summoned is unresistable.

n00b you are wrong. DT isnt stopped by DA. Or the lvl 60 pally disc for that matter. Yes i have tried both numerous times. In fear with mini bosses. I have also tried it in air with the spiroc lord. If you dont know what ur talking about please find out before u post. Also talked a 60 necro in my guild and he says DT isnt stopped by harmshield either. Not positive about that one but seeing as how im a 60 pally and died with both DA on and my lvl 60 disc that makes me immune to all non-melee attacks i know for a fact that they dont stop DT.

Just curious. Anyone tried the monk discipline Whirelwind on it? I mean it automatically ripostes any attack so woulden't that work??

or.. think even better, even if you did get to charm a pet, The pet doesn't get DT'd the master does. so either way it's a chanter going splat
Better yet...
Take the same hired enchanter, have then pull with Tash. They eat the first DT, and die like we would have either way. Much less complicated than finding things which can be charmed in Ssra temple.

Necro's have the ability to Harmshield themselves, which is a 15 sec. invulnerablilty spell... anyone thought of trying this out to maybe use that as a damage sink?.. buy the necro a coffin, and a 96% rez, and you should have yourself a puller = )... just an idea..

the only thing that can save u from deathtouch is divine intervention / death pact.
