I don't know if this is correct, but it seems to me that *usually* only the Recuso Hunters can heal themselves. The Recuso's *usually* can't, and they con higher to me most of the time anyway. I'm a druid though, so stunning them to stop the heal isn't a problem. Hope that helps.
I was soloing the 3 guys around the perimeter of the camp in the NW corner of the zone (the ones that stand on the hill surrounding the camp) and easily soloed all three, one at a time of course. I was a 27 Monk at the time (with a level 50 Cleric buff that gave me 2000hp), but they did hit really hard. Two of the three healed himself back to half health when I had him down to one bub of health left. Took quite awhile, and I rarely interrupted his casting. One of them even kept rooting me. But I would imagine that without my HP buff from the cleric friend of mine, I would have had a harder time with it.
i don't know what you guys are talking about. i just soloed a dark blue recuso as a lvl 27 warrior and only lost 1/2 a bubble at 1184 hp total. dropped that stupid spear thing, i thought whole thing was a little weak
The lvls posted on these guys are wrong. They are still dark blue and even con to my 28 warrior. What lvl 21 mob hits for 75 points consistently any way? I haven't fought any. Some of these guys are pally's or something too. I was soloing these guys last night and had one down to a very small sliver of red left twice and he healed him self to full health both times. All the meanwhile hitting me for at least 75 points a pop.
i have killed over 100 of these things and never looted the horns of desiplen is it a nother zone they loot in on these? or do i jist need to kill more of thim?
I was wandering through this zone just checking it out cause i had never been here before, when i first conned one he conned Indifferently then i saw one holding a little sword, and he conned Light Blue to me .. so I killed him to see what the sword was .... dissappointed to see it was JUNK and after only one kill faction went down to apprehensivly .... ohh and BTW on the rest of my journey through this zone I saw a few Recuso's that conned dark blue to me at lvl 37 !
It seems to have been said already, but I'm going to say it again. Be careful with these guys. At level 31, I fought 'a Recuso' who was light blue, and got a solid, and sound thrashing. With full self buffs (Center, Spirit Armor, Symbol) I have 1017 HP. I fought till 1/2 of a red bubble, chain casting Healing on myself, had to cast LoH, and was still killed. The mob had about 1/4 of his life for most of the fight. So, that was about 2900 HP he took off, hit in the 20-70 range, and didn't cast. I hit in the same range, cast, was a higher level, and still lost. I advise the buddy system when tangling with these guys.
Some of these guys are casters, they saw through my invis. I know this because I'm KOS to them, seems I killed to many of them. Im level 42 and some of them still give light-blue exp. There are two name recuso's. Not sure what they are for or anything.
Spent some time here last night with a druid friend of mine (we're 23 and 25). Most Recuso's were blue, but the one's holding the Combine Gladius all conned red. The higher level one would double attack for around 52, but we managed to take him out after the longest kite of my EQ career. Probably level 28-30, but I'm not really sure.
Does anyone know if the No Drop/No Rent Waepons they drop are for a quest or are they the Shadowed Weapons of Luclin? I'd like to hope there is a quest attached to them since they weigh 25 each, have horrible stats and can't even be given to pets.
As a 24 beastlord, I pulled 'A Recuso Hunter' (blue con) near the guards, just to see if I can take him. He was a spell caster (priest of some sort), and he went down rather easily -- with me having 80% health left over, 90% mana, and a pristine pet. I thought to myself "Heh, these guys are pushovers, I think I found myself a new place to solo."
Next I pull 'A Recuso' (blue con also; thinking it would be easier than the spell caster), and BAM he opens up a can whup *** on me like you wouldn't believe. He gets me down to 2 reds of health in under 10 seconds (800+ hp here), so I back off and start chain-healing my pet -- but I can't heal fast enough! He rips through my pet and pounds the **** out of me as I run screaming for the zone.
These guys are MAJOR undercons. I took one on with my WAY twinked out 22 Ranger... I landed a Snare easily enough, but then it started hitting me for 80's and 90's. This was a blue con, and not a caster.
If you see one of these bastards casting, just back away slowly.

Faction adjustments given for killing one were: Your faction standing with The Recuso got worse Your faction standing with Hand of Seru got better Your faction standing with Heart of Seru got better Your faction standing with Eye of Seru got better Your faction standing with Shoulders of Seru got better Your faction standing with Haven Smugglers got worse
If you kill Thought Horrors in Mons Letalis.. you get Your faction standing with Thought Horror got worse Your faction standing with Hand of Seru got better Your faction standing with Heart of Seru got better Your faction standing with Eye of Seru got better Your faction standing with Shoulders of Seru got better Your faction standing with Townsfolk of Seru got better Your faction standing with Haven Smugglers got worse
When you attack them they say "I have nothing to lose, but maybe you do"
Or something like that. I fought one of these guys at level 22. Had him dead and then he took off. Pull about 4 others on me and i was dead quickly.
After i was killed to my horror i saw " A recuso eyes your corpse, looking to see what he can use" or something like this.
I was terrified. I thought i was gonna come back and see something from my corpse gone. But when i came back i looted and nothing was gone.
Anyone ever lose anything from these guys? Is it just coin? I didnt know what i had before i got killed. Or is this in place just to scare the sheet outa ya.
They say "I have nothing left to lose, can you say the same?"
Basically he's a theif who's life hit rock bottom. To him dying wouldn't be that big of a difference. He's asking if you think you made a wise choice by fighting him because unlike him maybe you value your life.
