Think they adjusted the level on these...my 35 Ranger looted these off of a Recuso in Marus Seru. MOB conned light blue to him.
Just looted one off A Recuso that conned light blue to my 45 rogue. (I was in mseru practicing PP, in case you are wondering.) He was the only one that I encountered that didn't con green, and I could tell he had a weapon, so I just had to find out what it was. (I had just looted A Combine Gladius on the previous mob- A Recuso Hunter.) Good thing I had my 100% wt-red bag. :P
Any info on a possible quest using these weapons would be handy.

aye friends, i too have killed a many these guards, got 4 lvls from them myself....oh, and yes. You do turn these weps in to the researcher under the arena in Vah Shar(kitty city) for a better one :) PLAY ON

Wrong, I tried this, the weapons researcher under sharvahl only take the grimling weapons that come from the grimling forest. Handing them this sword gets you nothing

Dropped by Recuso and Recuso Hunters in Marus Seru and level to attain is 25 to 30.

These things are common. They drop off the LB and blue to level 41 human guards in Netherbian Lair. Depending on which one you kill, you get this or fordel weapon. Those guys are on about a 12min spawn time and easy to pull (for me anyway). They also have no faction hits and give me good exp.

While playing around with a Vah Shir rogue on a friend's account, I ran across an Weapons Researcher (can't remember his exact name). When hailed he asked if I had a combine weapon for him, if not, then I should talk to the Armor Researcher next to him. They were both near the Arena area of the Vah Shir city.
It could be possible that you hand him this weapon and he gives you back a version that won't disappear if you log.

Horrible delay but it has +1 humanoid bane damage.

Anyone know if these are the same as the combine weapons for sale in Lavastorm (from the gypsies)?

It's gotta be an incredibly common drop. It looks like it would make a nice pet weapon for an necro or mage, which is likely what it is intended for.

Unless they changed it, NPCs (including pets) won't equip any no drop items you give them.

This is ONE weapon pal. Its laughable that you would judge an entire expansion pack after looking at ONE weapon. Look a little deeper next time, or dont soil the message boards.
