Dark Elf Corruptor  

Here is the the strategy I used on TLP server Yelinak - SOLO

PREP

• Lvl 60 Druid with minimal gear (not planar) - no AA - Hitpoints at 2600 - Mana at 2970 - (while fully self buffed, see below)
• Buffs: Form of the Great Wolf - Natureskin - Regrowth - Resist Magic - Resist Poison - Resist Disease - Shield of Blades - Bladecoat - Greater Concentration Potion - Clarity Potion (I probably didnt need all these but i overkilled it just to be safe)
• Memmed the following spells - Frost, Wild Fire, Forest Renewal - Gate - Immolate - Winged Death - Engorging Roots - Entrapping Roots

STRATEGY

• Bound myself at the Corruptor spawn location
• Give Teloa (-3850, -2850) Frayed Braided Grass Amulet
• Gate to Corruptor location
• Nuke corruptor by rotating Frost and Wild Fire, I did not kite, just eat his hits
• Loot item from corruptor
• Heal yourself (not necessary to be full but you want to absorb the upcoming HTs from the reavers. I only needed two heals)
• Run to corruptors using track
• Cast AE Root spell - This didnt hold on them for me but it at least aggroed both of them - eat the HT
• Root both of them
• Land Winged Death on both of them
• When those run out - Land winged death + Immolate on both of them

DONE.

Here is what I did. I hope this helps others.

First thing I did was hunt down his spawn location on hillside where the spiders are (loc -1434.39, -1011.73). I marked it on my map and "bound" myself there. Then I ran down to the water side where Althele is at. Now BEFORE engaging the dialogue, I pulled out my warrior merc and buffed us both. Once finished I engaged the dialogue will all the druids. When I heard the Corrupter, I gated to his point, blasted him with my highest DD till he was dead. Then I went after the Reavers and their pets. I hit the first with DD and while merc was pounding on it, i went after second. of course i aggroed them and they lost the battle. Was then successful in final turn in with the druids. *Note: you have to be fast! there is no time for mistakes or slowness. If the Reavers get to the druids: Game Over and you have to start back from the beginning of the quest. The Character who is in need of doing the epic MUST be the first one to hit the Corrupter.

Learning the hard way I found that you have to aggro the whole group and keep them away from the Druids,
I had failed twice before and this method made it quick and simple.

If you go straight for the corruptor like I did, the Reavers will reach the NPC's that you just did the turn ins with and kill them, despawning the corruptor, and making you repeat this epic from the start. NOT FUN! So, be a good ranger and get your bow and arrow ready. Once you hear the shout from the corruptor in zone, immediately run north to the barn buildings, and the dark elves will be running down that hill shortly, if not already. Hit them with an arrow or spell to aggro, and once they are on you, look for the corruptor. He should be running down the hill also a little behind the Reavers. Hit him with an arrow or spell, and fight all 3. Otherwise one will run to the NPC's and kill them, despawning your much needed kill.

ALSO: Watch out for Drevlon Knacknabber. He is a gnome/halfling that walks around the area you'll be in, and for some reason he is aggressive to me, but guards leave him alone. He is way underconned, and will either kill you or your much needed mercenary (He takes me out at 60, well armored). Make sure he is well out of the way before you turn in the last necklace, because the end of his walk path is right in the path you'll be taking north! I watched his path, and he goes from west to east and vice versa, stopping at four different points.

I hope this keeps you from going through the same frustations! And btw, please, PLEASE.... people stop posting your successful kill, outlining every hit, spell, resist, etc. No one cares, and they distract from the information people post that players actually need!

Ok, what do you do when this Mob despawns while in the middle of fighting him?

Spawns at -1434.39, -1011.73 - As soon as you hand in the amulet to Teloa by the waterfall run to these coordinates and kill fast 30Seconds or less... helpfull to have some DPS with you

Tried this fight for a friend of mine and no luck for the 3rd time in a row. No matter how fast you set upon the 3 spawns once you get set to kill the Dark Elf Corruptor he despawns just as you are about to land the killing blow. No matter if you root the adds or kill them the Dark Elf Corruptor despawns. Athele and all the other NPCs remain yet the DEC disappears. GMs only spout the same platitudes (ie: petition and wait in queue) and do nothing to assist. Obviously, as the earlier posts suggest and other players of my longevity that have attempted this 1.0 quest can attest, this is broken and will remain broken as the demand is not there to fix the thing. Might as well give in and do the 1.5 prequest.

Ok heres the deal with these DE's. I have done this quest 4 times now. Three first times i have failed that due to not reading posts or being to excited or what not. The point is when the Corruptor and Reavers spawn they are freakin fast so you need to make sure you root corruptor and reavers but you need to land the first hit with the character doing the epic within 30 seconds or he WILL DESPAWN. Trust lol i have done this four times now and tried out every single scenario. The epic questing character MUST ATTACK THE CORRUPTOR WITHIN THE FIRST 30 SECONDS OF HIM SPAWNING. Had my Frayed Braided Amulet or w/e go away 3 times and it made me upset. So just dont make the same mistake. I box a lot and i soloed the corruptor and reavers with my ranger, had my Cleric there in case i needed her but ended up not casting a single spell. Mobs are gimps con LB to level 51 max hit was 96.

*Park group or whomever on the hill that overlooks river you will see them spawn so just be patient also there have been problems with people trying to track down the druids when they do the turn ins i understand i have had the same problem just run around a bit and you will find them i promise keep checking track wait a lil bit and do BIG circles and you will find Nuein Teloa and Sheloa or w/e*

soloed this guy today with a 53 druid.
I found his approx spawn location, bound there, did all the turn in's, before the last turn in i activated my infusion of the faithful vet reward, made it alot easier to resist his spells, lol. I followed teloa back to the meeting place, heard zone wide message and gated to spawn location. I did not kill the other two reavers just the dark elf corruptor. Althele and the other's were still alive when i finished him off, so I don't know if he will despawn if they die.
About a month ago i helped a lvl 51 druid do this with my 55 bst. Was very easy, again we just killed the corruptor and let the druid's die, althele respawns in about an hour. I didn't pay attention that time to whether or not the druids were still alive when we finished off the corruptor.

Well, I started this epic as a 65 druid. I have read all the post and I agree that this is a lousy epic. I guess I did not read it very well as I made all of the turn-ins and got killed real quick. I learned you need help with the Corruptor and that I have to start the epic over. If you are going to solo make sure you read all the post as there are some good suggestions here. I am going to try this one more time, but it is like the pally epic - hard and not much fun so far. I have better equipment than what the epic can give me.

Elfwolfe 65 druid

I don't know if anyone has tried this or not but how about buffing Athele, sionae, nuien and teola.

I took a trip to try buffing Athele and cast skin sow and levi on her. She glowed so it looks like the spells took.

When I do the turn in I'm gonna take a cleric to cast V and I'm gonna put regen and spikes on them.

Should slow the reavers down and give me time to kill the DEC.

SOE has planted a warrior 1.5 epic mob next to Althele (the turn in lady to spawn the corruptor). Drevlon Knacknabber is his name, hits for up to 658 and summons. He has a very large aggro range, he came running almost out of nowhere after my druid. Watch out for him on track when you are doing the turn ins, he will seriously spoil your day.

killed the DEC.. went a tried to loot it.. it would not let me.. so we killed the other reavers... tried again... would not let me loot the book!! went over to see if Athele was still alive.. and yes... she was.. the only thing is.. the wizzy was able to loot the book... why couldn't I?

what i do if The DE Corruptor despaw i need to restart the Quest ?

i am Druid 61 in Tallon Zek

Dark Elf Corruptor is a necro and has a pet. I didn't expect that so was unprepared. He despawned on me, so I didn't die but life got down to 30.
