truthfully .. i dont think a 49 paladin could solo one of these. i am a twinked 45th ranger and i need to fear kite them to take them down. they hit pretty darn hard and very fast. Guildie is buying the black panther skins for 500pp each. time to make a monk. =)
end quote,
These guys are reported to be 33 to lv 37 so what gives with you 45 and 50+ having trouble? As far as them to be lb to you i think green would be more like it. Is the info here wrong? im a 41 wizard and have a monk i want to twink with the Black panther skin armor. should i even attempt to get the ingrediants?
Am 58 Druid & of course waste these easy. The Haze Panthers are a bit more difficult. Have also soloed these with my 47 Warrior. Pretty easy kills even with my warrior. But is a high argo zone & one needs to be careful or can & will get lots of ads. I can make This armor. If you're payin 5k for Leggs or other peices let me know LOL.., Have been sellin these on Karana server for around 2k. Skins go for around 300pp.
Black Pantherskins are selling for 300 to 500 pp on Tholuxe Paells at this time. With so many Monkeys and Beasties runnning around, the armor's in demand, so the raw materials go overnight in the Bazaar every time I stock up and sell them.
This would be a tough hunt for most at the levels that you'll get experience from these at, but it's an ideal racket for a solo ranger if you use your wits and skills. At level 49 as a ranger I've found no more profitable place, balancing experience with monetary income, to solo animals.
I encountered these for the first time when someone trained their quad to the skyshrine zone. My cleric partner and I were camping the raptors and the next thing we saw was black animals bouncing all over us.
I wouldnt say they are faster than SoW, but they are quick, and amazingly agile (ie they path well).
They hit on average in the 70s... occasional to 85-90. From the four kills we got two panther meat (baking), and thats it. Light blue to 48.
I've been camping the suits of sentient armor and I am constantly getting aggro by these things. They are light blue to me at lvl 53. I just root, snare then use es vambs to kill em. They don't have a terrible lot of hit points. Hits me for around the 70's, sometimes low 80's. Root/dot over and over and these things go down fairly quickly.
Do these drop the skins? And for the Black pantherskin armor, do you need a certain quality. Or is it like the lion pelts (HQ, LQ, MQ) and then a serparate one called skin?
For Blackpanther armor, you need the Black Panther skin that drops from these guys (no HQ/MQ/LQ in this one ;D ), Yew Leaf Tannin (Yew leaves are a ground spawn in WL, but rare and VERY hard to see. Also need Velium Boning, which is easy to get, just go to your local Rygorr Miners in CC and kill the fruits until you get however many small velium bricks you will be needing for the armor.
I've spent a little time hunting these the last few days. I have a 50th wizard and I'm able to solo them easily: Root, Bonds of Force, 2 Ice Comets. (They have about 2100hps)
I also made a ranger and leveled him to 6th and bring him along to track for me. :) Works out great because he doesn't lose exp and I don't have to worry about recovering his corpse if his invis breaks at the wrong time...and he's bound in Kael so no biggie.
Anyway...seems that a good place to hunt them is approximately 400, -2400. Occasionally there is a human mercenary wandering around, but for the most part it's panthers.
These beasts are highly social and like all MOBs in WL will pile on quickly. Make sure you have a good look around before you pull one. As soon as you loot invis yourself. Additionally, their aggro range is fairly big, and sometimes they will charge you as soon as you begin to cast on them. (They seem to do this from further away than other MOBs.)

Been hunting around looking for panthers for a day now and only came across one a little ways SE of the lake. Anyone find em regularly in any particular place? -me
so to make monk armor do u need LQ MQ HQ or just regular old panther skins ? that is my question , cuz no where does it say what type of skin u need other than panther skin
If you want to know EXACTLY what is required for the armor, go to the tailoring recipe section on www.eqtraders.com....do your neighborhood uber-tailor a favor and gather ALL the parts.

At 45 I ported in at the rings alone to poke around the zone some, a group had one on them and were in the process of porting out, so it aggro'd me as soon as they left.
No resist, root broke only once, snare and all DoT's went off without a hitch. Never cast on me, so Maybe there are higher level ones.

I highly doubt there is anyone on your server even capable of making this and if there was, are you will to pay up to 20k per piece? I didn't think so. So, before you start to think you can just buy this armor real easily, go research it and find out how hard it really is to even make one attempt at it.

My God... chill a bit. There are people able to make this. In fact, I do go to my friendly local (high level) tailor and buy this stuff. It is not easy to make but it is available, and it CERTAINLY does NOT cost 20,000pp per piece. I am on Lanys T'Vyl (which is a fairly young server, relatively speaking) and have bought Black Pantherskin Leggings and Black Pantherskin Boots. Each piece cost me 5000pp but that was before the weight reduction patch. They are currently much lighter and much more desirable and sell for about 8000pp each, which is a very fair price. Every server is different but if you happen to be on Lanys, either Gokusprout or Shayna could probably make this for you.
Ok to set the record straight these things do not run as fast as sow, I have Jboots which all know is slower than sow and I can out run them not enough to effectivly kite them but I can put some distance on them and I have been camping them for their skins for about 4 days now
