Anything can be a golem actually. It just depends if you know what a golem is, or if you are thinking of the right kind of golem. From games like D&D and books in the TSR line a golem is just something that a wizard animates. Like a finely crafted statue, or a few pieces of iron lieing around. If you think of it that way, the wizard could just animate a puddle of bile in the same way.

I've read this thing drops the Acid Etched Warsword, i've been wanting to get one and I have no idea where it spawns. Anyone know where this thing spawns would be greatly appreciated.

Just looking at the name I would guess that it is a result of the Ring of Slime quest in the revamped Cazic-Thule. A moderately difficult ring event which from my research requires 3 very strong groups. (Very strong being level 60 players with high end gear.) Check out the link to acid etched war sword or go under beastiary for CT and check out An Acidic Mass or something close to that.

These are puddles of goo. you've seen similar if you've been in CoM very much. Occadionally they will have a Glob of Gooey Goo, which has a chage of Immobilize. Handy for non-rooting classes as an emergency escape measure.
