Guard Tolus  

Dropped a Fine Steel Long Sword for me.

Ha, These guards are weak, all except for slate. I know what this guy is capable of because I went on a rampage in east commons whalin on everything.

This guy was my number one slap up. I killed him 45 times, tryin to impress someone I pulled every single guard in zone (when someone was killin Slate) and killed every single guard at once in front of tunnel :)

Then I went out and started killin forest animals to get meat for baking, I meet a griffin along way. I quickly shot a couple arrows at him. Some reason I could walk and still out run the griffin. Well anyways, I have officaly killed everysingle thing in zone. Had to get alot of help for slate. Anyway this guy carries fine steel weapons, some words, a onyx, and a newspaper. All is rare though.

i was just wondering if he hits magically. if he doesnt, im taking a ghoul and rampaging around slate and the other gurads with him. if they dont, then i am in NFP in no time. it sounds like it is fun. and also if people just wanna kill guards, dark elf guards are extremely low

As a Paladin of 28 (Used to be 29 until the necro in the secret tunnels of West Freeport feared and blasted me to death..) I hunt each one of these for exp mainly. Basically I follow what everyone here has said... Ie: Pull to the sand, Kill, watch out for slate.. Yadda yadda yadda.

A good way to do it while in the middle of the battle is to root 'em, and take a few steps back. You then cast a shielding/healing buff on yourself (Center at my level), right after it is casted you fire off a quick shot at the guard with your bow. At that time your spells are back, except for your shielding/healing buff, so you in-turn use your cruddy little "Light healing" spell that you have... And follow it up with another Arrow at the guard.

Doing this is a pretty good way for Paladins to kill these guys, it keeps your life up- and keeps him from getting his life back while you heal. There isn't even a use for Lay of hands with this way of fighting, and you should be able to solo them at about 23 or so with not much difficulty. (Presuming you have a decent weapon... I switch off from a Ghoulbane and a Mistmoore shield... to The Edge of Cabilis... a 25/50 2hs.)

Welp, this wasn't much info on the guard, but it is a small tip for the Pallies out there.

i have the post under you...you should just get a caster type perferably one with a pet like magician or necromancer or enchanter make sure hes like lvl 22-25...this guy is really easy doesnt block any spells of mine and can be killed without a pet so all you need is a caster type

im lvl 25 hes whote to me and i freaking killed this guy without a pet..hes pretty easy but like the other people said watch out for slate he killed me once when i was just watching the fight.. my best advice is to pull to sand(like other guy said) if you are encumbered dont try to kill guard never know when you have to run and these guys are kinda quick..im wondering does this give really bad faction's with freeport guards??

I suggest pulling Tolus. He's at an easier pull and stuff and you can just get bone chips from the skeletal ruins nearby. Simple strategy. Pull him as far back as you can into the sand, and kill him. Period.

Two things to beware of here. Well, actually three. One, be careful not to pull him into the undead ruins. You don't want a guard on your butt while having undead knicking away and bothering your spells. Two, as usual watch for griffin sightings. I hate them. Three, and BIGGEST OF ALL, if you have to spend a minute scouting around to make sure Slate is not in the immediate area, then do it. He -will- kill you. Period. This is a guy who kills two griffins at the same time and still has the HP to just walk around like no one's business. He's a monster I tell ya!

Started soloing thise fellas at lvl 22,(iksar regen bp helpes a bit), and at lvl 23 their butts were and still are at 24 my property.

Can anyone tell me exactly where these guys spawn and what the time is between spawns?

I don't think that Tolus would give bad faction with Temple of Marr or the Knights of Truth because if you ever talked to them they are dedicated to getting rid of Sir Lucan and his Freeport Militia (So am I). I have killed the LVL 16 Guard in East Freeport a lot and he gives bad faction with Freeport Militia and the Trade Folk.
