Had a miniature one of these spawn today while waiting on the AC. I was in scaled wolf form, and it wasnt quite as tall as me. And it was holding what looked like a sandstone axe like the mobs in Takish-Hiz carry, slightly transparent, decent detail. I killed it, just like any other DBS, and it dropped two Slate Scepters, not listed in Alla's DB, and a Rusty Broadsword. Scepters have 4dmg 23dly, no extra stats, 1hb. Sells for 5pp+ with 158cha to indiff merchants.
I find it hard to believe that wimpy dry bones drop BRONZE ARMOR. I was at oasis from lvl 12 to 16--I have killed probably 5 or 6 dry bones ever, didnt really care to. Anyways I am lvl 24 now and am wondering if anyone has EVER looted bronze off a dry bones. I want to get my lvl 10 pally full bronze armor ). I appreciate any responses.
Heh, from what Ive read and expirienced with theese guys is that they are easier for melee classes, harder for spell classes. Always Always have a cleric with you against them. They can do some serious dmg for their lvl.
I really don't think so. It depends on how many hit points your pet has, but if it died, you would be dead too. It tends to resist a little. Give it a shot though with a friend waiting to help. Good luck.
Anybody actually FIND bronze on these guys in Oasis. I only see rawhide. If you have seen them, what size do they drop? Any idea where large bronze is dropped?
I run into these occasionally in Oasis, and soloing one can be very difficult. When I was level 15, my barbarian warrior would nearly die, but I could take one that con'ed red to me. With a healer I can take on two yellows at a time or one red with ease, even with a PITA Madman agroing on me. Until you are higher level, it's highly recommended that if you are a tank, you have a healer grouped with you while fighting in Oasis. A skilled healer grouped with a tank can be a very good way to get exp. with a lvl 14+ character. Just look out for Ghouls, Spectres, and Sand Giants. Oh, and Caster Madmen are very aggressive and can mean death to a poor tank haplessly wandering around Oasis after his health is down from attacking crocs. I speak from experience.

Those caster madmen are sob's. every time I t've taken my warrior into Oasis I somehow get aggroed by them, regardless of where I go. I have a lvl 10 warrior and grouped with a lvl 10 wizzie and lvl 10 cleric I think... any how, we were attacted by one caster after another 3 times in a row, the last one was the worst. That one rooted the 3 of us and then proceeded to move out of melle range and heal himself while casting at us over and over. Wild. We won thaat one and then made a bee line for N.ro.
I was very unpleasantly surprised being a Iksar lover that came to explore Antonica at lvl 30. I came to Oasis and found very nasty things (sand giants, specs). Of course, a lvl 30 warrior has no chance of soloing these, which I was one. However, I have seen several of these dry bones and I really don't like them. First of all, unlike the charbones on Kunark (supposedly these guys' counterparts), these guys cast spells. My second reason for hating them, is they run away from me. Sure they're green, but he is very dangerous to chase around the desert with a wandering SG that this little skelly could run you to. My 2 cp. :)
I noticed that too. When i conned one running through oasis last night it conned red to me i was lvl 18 so something isn't right about them. Also another tip if anyone wants to fight a lvl 17-20 orc war go over to roc highway go over the hill in the back to the right and on the montian an orc should spanw he conned red to me at 16,17 and 18 and it is called what everything else was no other orc except that one conned red to me. We pulled it and killed it many times it didn't drop anything better than his lower buddys tho..hmmm
If u plan soloing these things at a low lvl palys would be the best be at least lvl 15 cause u can get a spell called ward the undead nukes for about 40 points of damage hope i was of some use good luck kill kill kill kill!!!!
Most of the tougher skeletons in EQ have many resistances to magic. which is probably why casters ahave a bit of trouble. You take a melee class for example like the lvl 14 dwarf warrior or rogue they can kill it easily cuz they are easy to hit.
I helped get one of of a little Ranger yesterday in Oasis by the docks and when all was done I gained experience for it as a level 29 Shaman. So if a 29 is getting experience for them there's definately an undercon since it conned green to me and put some hurting on my buttocks
Ok yes they are lvl 15-19 but u gotta relise with the del and atack plus spell they are UNDERCONNED so dont try to kill a yellow 1 cuz u can kill other yellows, u wont live to see tomorrow cuz they got pretty high resist for magic and fire based spells + Attacks Ok? Kilnaeli lvl 26 warrior of vazaelle <Epic Heroes>
They are WAY underconned. I have a lvl 16 wizard, and I saw one on my from OT to Nek. It conned blue so I thought I'd go for it. Ended up almost killing me. Couldn't get a single spell off. I ended up shadowstepping into the water and gating back to OT. Then I got to take that long boat ride again. Stay away from them! They are BAD NEWS!
i am a lev 16 magician and can easily solo one but it takes half the mana! two would be death to a caster of my lev though. Yeah as they say, they hit hard!
Ok this guy is tuff, whenever I get attacked by him I have to run for the zone or docks, and I'm lvl 21! I'm saying this so that the rogues are warned, while all these other bone heads are bragging about how easy they are b/c they're casters and have pets and all these tanks saying they are so easy, rogues will need to run from them up to about lvl 24+. I want to help the confussed rogues out there that arn't tanks or casters b/c they need help too. so if your a rogue, don't attack it. Rogues maybe the best meale damage dealers in the game, but that dosen't mean they can solo one of these things. (a matter of fact, rogues shouldn't solo at all) Know I'm not sure about a Barbarian Rogue, he might be able to solo it with a little difficulty but if u ask me, Barbarians don't have a right to be called "rogues" anyway.
Good luck fellow rogues!
(Incase you failed to notice...yes I have been killed by these things many times. That nuke of theirs is really annoying)
