Well, I decided one day that I would head over to the Oasis just to see if I could take one of these guys down. At this time I was at the lv of 51 so I thought to myself, this should extremely easy. Well, I ran from Freeport, and soon zoned into the Oasis, searching for one of these infamous giants. Soon enough, I spoted one standing upon a hill, so I ran up, and started beating it with my Cane. At first I seemed to be doing pretty well, but soon, I could see that I happened to be losing health quickly. I was finally able to defeat my foe, but with only around 20% HP left. This mob attacked me for pretty high amounts of damage, the highest being 188. This is coming from a now lv. 52 monk, so I suggest to all others that you plan ahead and make sure that you can take pretty high amounts of dmg, along with being able to deal out enough.
In my expierences with sand giants, the most they have hit me for is 92...did you maybe attack Cazel? I'm curious on why I have never been hit harder, seeing as I prolly have way less AC then you.

I've heard that that killing madmen, ghouls and pretty much any wandering non-orc will make them appear more often. Don't know anything about spawn time, though.
I'm reading all these posts by DRUIDS who don't want to even try these guys before like level 39?! You guys are crazy.. besides porting, this is the best and easiest way for some quick cash. All ya do (soon as I got my lvl 29 spells I was soloing these guys with a C3) is snare/nuke/run/nuke/run/dotx3/root and wait. sometimes you have to root/dot them more than once.. but if you're smart about it, it can be done. I'm level 34 now, and can take down 2 of these guys at a time. Just try it, you can always zone :)

Hehe, not anymore, crack junkie. Now we have to do it the old fashioned way...snare/dot/run far enough away to med a little, run/med...dot, lol. I've been doing the frost giants in GD this way, just made 30, good exp and decent weapon drops, but I'm going to shift to these guys because I want the emerald drops.
Hmmm... Well Im lvl 35 Monk hehe twinked with bada$$ wepps and pantherskin armor hehe well im gonna try soloing tommorow I will post hehe how it will go. Should be good I got haste and i avrege hit for 37.
I can solo these guys at 44 and Ima war. Extremely easy when slowwed/snared. They really don't have that much hp ... can kill preety fast, hit preety hard tho =( If they spawned more often, they would be excellent money
I think that the way warriors slow & snare is to have their friends PL them by doing so. "Well i did all of the damage myself, so i 'soloed' the mob." It doesn't matter that i got Sow, haste, KEI, temp/heroic bond from the others "standing aroung watching me" and then snare/slow/debuff the mob. What a bunch of whiny f--king pu$$ys (not limited to warriors) that need to be PLed. BTW--i DO know KEI doesn't do crap for warriors (but does he?).
I'm hoping to start tearing these things apart myself here soon with my lvl 30 WIZ, will have a lvl 30 PAL to help as well. About the exp. cap though, 11% is bogus. With my lvl 10 RNG in CB I have gotten 15%, even 19% of a lvl from killing red legionaires(people zoning and leaving them with 20% or less HP). Also, while playing my lvl 10 RNG someone was helping me out, PLing in PC and killing one Phetid Fungal Fiend yielded 23% exp. There may be a cap for quests, or just that particular quest, but I don't think there's a cap for how much exp can be gained from killing a MOB.
BTW I have a UI skin that shows my exp in % so I know exactly how much I get from my kills.
For instance, is it worth my time to get my lvl 30 Shaman and my lvl 32/33 Pally partner over here to fight Giants together? Or should we wait a few levels?
Heres a quick story, Back when I was level 15 hunting this zone this punk killed me more times then I can count. Basically put, I offically put him on my "Most hated Mob" list. Well, as you know time goes on and levels do too. One day now that I'm level 42 bouncing through this zone he attacks me. A bit startled but instantly ready to melee. Needless to say I made short work of him, and MAN IT FELT GOOD! I kill him every time I have the chance now! WooT for sweet revenge!
well, im not high enough to brag about getting revenge on giants, but i did the same thing with Emperor crush and Dvinn in CB =P one of these days, ill take a crack at Zytl in wc ^^
