I was looking for the remains for my epic, and of course the fabled VS was up. Lucky for me a high level monk (90?) was also there, who agreed to make an attempt at him. Since my druid was level 60 I came only as company, as I can do nothing to that mob. The monk brought a healer merc and I noticed something I wasn't aware before: fabled VS mezzed the merc continuously. So my heals came in handy at last. But those who rely on having a merc with them, be aware that this mob can neutralize him (at least a healer merc; he didnt mezz my warrior).

Soloed it with a level 85 ranger on test, with a journeyman cleric merc. Took me 45 min to kill him. Thought I would lose the fight a couple times because the cleric had dropped to zero mana, but gained just enough to heal me once again. Dropped the Fabled Jaundiced Bone Greaves. Was quite exciting to actually win this fight solo, and probably better with two people and mercs, but definitely doable if you are patient enough.
This guy is a big joke now a days. folks say they cant take him out with 2 lvl 85 toons then you must of bought your toons on ebay. I took this guy out with a lvl 85 shm and 85 mage. yes the fight took about 10 mins cause of his hp and mage going out of mana but still an easy fight for 2 lvl 85 toons
We tried this tonight with a few peeps, figured if it can be two boxed by 85's, a group of 70-80 should be able to take him.
Wrong.
Parced what combat there was (we evac a few times), Average hit was about 1k-1050, hit about 45% of the time. In little over 4 min, he cast 56 times, all spells that he cast ARE listed.
He has LOTS of hp. I was a 73 wiz, and this guy ate little under 11k dmg (just from me) and it barely grazed his HP. He didn't resist spells, but i was getting a lot of partial damage from magic spells. Cold and fire hit just fine.
He's a toughie, so don't under estimate him.
EDIT: He stayed in the back room. I sat there for almost 2 hours waiting for people to gather from other things. He doesn't move from spawn point in the back. It looked like he was getting ready to a few times, but he never did. He is NOT rooted there (as we guessed at first), but is simply too lazy to move his dead *** around.

Stupid People bother me.... QUIET YOU!!! YOU DONT GET AN OPINION!!!
with 85 ranger (28.3k hp 4,018 ac buffed) with a tier 5 cleric merc and 75 rogue (16.7k hp, 2.3k ac) with a tier 1 cleric merc
looooong fight, mostly due to his stun.
dropped rogue pants and gnarled staff. picked up the fabled pants on my 13 shaman. though you might be better off getting some elaborate or elegant pants.
I got to tag along with a few extraordinary players tonight to kill this dude. The fight was amazing and took about 25 mins of pure hacking to kill him. We used a Monk, 2 rangers, 2mercs (both clerics) and a lowbie druid (my box). It took FOREVER to get him down but was well worth it in the end. He dropped the fabled leggings and the Singing Steel legs as well as the chanter stick and wiz stick. He resisted alot of casts, but not all. Hope this helps in your endevors. Thanks go out to Jojigoo and Menvardare on the Bristlebane server. You guys are awesome.
Just killed him, he has about 3mil hps,3600 ac 19.5khp buffed tank(me)15shield, 88 avoidance. His average hit was 1500,Most hits were around 750, the high hit was 3100. A rogue with us did most of the damage, as i was stunned 3/4 of the fight, the stun is hardcore. I tanked him in the door jam in the big open room near his so i wouldnt get pushed around.
Just did this guy on Fennin with one group 78 Warrior 24k HP buffed 4k AC, my boxxed shaman 15k mana and SK cleric chanter and zerker. dont even bother with slow off shaman's or chanters tried every line including the AE slows and nothing landed on him too resistant. other then that avg hit was barely 600 and hardest was 2023 cleric stayed full mana during fight doing nothing but chain CH. easy fight he seems to die MUCH faster depending on how fast you cure his Life tap over time wich is directional only so corner him and every time the tank gets the life tap cure it ASAP he does still have a lot of hit points but doing this will ensure he dies faster. GL all
with 2 groups of 75s this mob took forever to kill felt like an hour probably like 20 mins tho . . . anyways he is very resistant to spells after i got malo rk 2 on him i couldn't get any of my slows to land on him. All i can say is come prepared for this fight and be ready for a long fight
Two full groups of CoA + can take it down. Did it with 1 war and 2 bot clerics CHing. Had 2 2.0 paladins (its undead) and rogues tearing it apart so didnt take more then 25mins. From what we experienced he was extremely resistant to all forms of casting.
25 minutes with two epic 2.0 Pallies and Rogues wailing on him, and everyone being CoA+ definitely supports my statement of a ton of HP. At least I got THAT much right. Heh.

Just tried it with a small raid of 12. Average level was 71, reasonably well balanced. Anguish+ main tank. Total wipe.
With the exception of lifetaps and poison based spells, nothing landed. Resisted Malosinise four times before I switched to Mala. Quads for 2925 on my toilet-paper self. Bashed for high 600s. Either there was a bug with his HP bar, or this rat ******* has a TON of HP. Never dropped him under 99%.
Again, very, very high fire and magic resists.

don't mess with him. someone pulled him on us while we were camping fableds and he lifetapped me for 2,500 followed by a double hit for 2,000. needless to say i died.
What about his remains, will they still appear after killing him or how is it done now? I need to take the remains down for my epic. Or will the remains simply not appear the whole time the fableds are up?

#REDACTED,
Posted:Mar 25 2005 at 11:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Time + guild, we took him down with only a couple of deaths. The deaths were from Riposites due to mob placement. I was one of the deaths. Riposited for 5400. I was on my 70 Beast with just at 10k Hp and was killed off of 2 riposites. 525+ resists will resist his AOEs. Think we had around 40 people in the attempt maybe a little more.
How would this event compare to a WoS namer? or MPG namer? Elemental namer? Surely sony wouldn't make it much more difficult than that right? Humor me, also spawn timer and other info would be wonderful! Thank you
Well that depends you mean groupable name or raid name cause this is a raid mob (most end bosses of a zone that are fabled are raid mobs unless your fully DP geared group or somthing probly be groupable then).
