i saw one today that was DB to me at lv 27 most of them are even to red.. so it must be 26-30 if anyone cares

I have a 26 Ranger Camped right in front of these punks. I just flame lick one and don't get any adds(even though they are KoS) and then try to snare during the fight. Once I get snare to stick I fear the croc and chase it through the water. Once it gets to the big open room I usually swim back to where the crocs spawn so i dont get froggy aggros and heal myself until the fear wears off and the croc comes back. Rinse and repeat and you will be lvl 30 and have sow in no time. At 26 the crocs con anywhere from blue to red but I can kill any of them, but at times the reds will get me down to 2 bubs of health. Really really easy exp esp. from killing the reds. Med up to full HP and Mana before they repop and go out and kil frogs by the entrance to Lguk so you can run if you get mugged =p Frogs are very good exp and drop plat and FS weps very often. Looking forward to spending a few lvls here and maybe baggin an AC or two. (Havent fought one yet and hoping I wont get too owned heh, pray to tunare that snare and fear stick=) Good Travels to all

Solo him as a 29 Necro? I'm camping Guk heavily to get some upgrades and the arms would really help (plus the cash from the legs). If a 27 Mage can, I think I'd be able to.

Ummm, the Ancient Croc drops the arms and legs your talking about. That croc is level 31...if you have root you might be able to take it out quickly considering the Ancient Croc hits hard but has little HP.

I tried camping the Saltwater, could only get him targeted, never saw him. Does anyone know if there is a specific spot it spawns? Also, does the ancient drop the rune needed also? Wasn't really clear on that.

I have just got back from camping the AC, But one of these crocs droped the Rune of Scale, But, it is no longer Wis only ! its druid aswell!!! wonder why? has the Cloak been changed aswell? ........ would love to know.

Crocs recently had their magic resist upped (either that or they nerfed Root). I camped them for about a week with my 31-wizard, soloing them easily (though the AC was a tough fight), then one day after a Velious patch they were invulnerable to Root. Game over. Died 3 times and made it to the Lguk zone 4 times trying to kill the first croc post-patch.
Also, when the crocs disappear into the back wall, they have really teleported into the water opposite the back wall. Just jump into the water, catch up with them, and blast/whack away. I've also seen them teleport into the water by walking through a side wall, but the back wall seems to be the most common (and most confusing, since it's the furthest away from the water).

On 12/3 I was hunting these crocs awaiting for for the AC to spawn. They are on a 17 min timer and prolly range from level 26 thru level 30, (conned blue thru red to a level 27 mage, the red ones conned yellow to a level 29 enchanter and blue to a 32 shaman). As mentioned in previous posts you can pull them one at a time and "jack" them. On a side note, if these mobs start to flee kill em quickly, because one time instead of heading for the water, a croc headed toward the wall and disappeared; no exp, no loot. I only mention this because the AC did the exact samething. When I petitioned, and explained the situation, the guide was unable to help me even though it was a "known" issue and been reported. From now on I'm going to try to kill him where he spawns, supposedly he only spawns alone, and not let him despawn!

I've seen 1 thru 5 crocs per spawn. They are aggressive if within melee range otherwise you can pull or root and nuke one at a time.
Either the saltwater crocs or the ancient croc can drop a rune of scale.
Use fire attacks. Magic resists seem high and cold resists very high. Root doesn't hold them for long.

There are three runes of scale, one here, one from Deepwater crocs in Oasis, and one from Firescale Crocs in Lavastorm. You need all three and a Lizzy Cloak to get the Runescale Cloak from Sol Ro Quest. (Wizard item)

These are the placeholders for the famous Ancient Croc that drops the Gatorscale armour so coveted by casters.The spot spawns 1 ,3 or 5 Saltwater crocs or if you are blessed the Ancient Croc which is level 32.They are non agressive and bite very hard.

One of these be guys is sopppested to drop the Rune Of Scale of the RuneScale Cloak Quest.
