It seems to be pretty darn rare that he drops anything useful. I have killed him 5 times now and no weapons or armor!
Took about 10 kills to finally get a weapon off him.

The Laef Windfall on the way to upper tower cort yard with stormriders & stormwatchers. Level 65 chanter with Bliss "Your target cannot be mez-ed" message. not sure if he resisted it or not only got one chance, then had to make a run for CY port.

OK i'm a shaman with a gimp piece of primary gear... trying to get that Thundering Mace but it NEVER.. and i mean in 7 times of killing him in 2 weeks.. NEVER drops.. he's dropped a rune only once and other than that sometimes he drops only little green scale things.. WTF?? someone wanna tell me why the items don't drop much??
Kinak look up Flail of Redemption and go for it instead. Much better item, much easier to get, much less time spent. Can probly get one cheap in the baz as they are overfarmed. GL mate!

Has anyone tried the Shaman disease line of slow? If so did it work? Most of the people are saying they slowed but the arent stating what slow they used?
Laef can't be slowed no matter what. "Your target is immune to changes in its attack speed."
Results of farming BoT top named:
South Top: Nothing but ring of torden 9 times in a row, North Top: 5 times in a row nothing but ring, East Top: 6 times in a row nothing but ring. Going to keep trying until I see at least one piece of loot. Wish me luck!

Pretty Easy, Took him dowm with a 65 mnk (timegeared) , 56mnk , 65ench , 65shm , 65clr , and a 65 pal. At the end he CHed (only 15% of his HP) like 4 times (pally stuns wouldn't land). But besides that, cake.

He does NOT drop arms, none of the minis do. Pants is it for ornate. Know what you are talking about people.

There are 2 Laef Windfall in BoT. One is lvl 65, other is lvl 64 I have been told. No idea why two have the same name. One is in the tower, one in North wing.
oops, i said conned yellow to me at 65, i forgot i rolled back a level and didnt rez. Damn druid healers =D

This is both the trickiest and the easist mob to get to of the 4 lvl 65's on the lower level. Laef Windfall spawns on the 3rd level of the North side. To get to him, you enter the first lightning portal to the right. From there, you follow the hallway to the first large room, where there is another lightning portal on your left. Take that portal up again and you are in Laef's spawn room lined with bookshelves. Laef spawns in the back of the room with 2 guards in front of the lightning portal that takes you to the Upper Courtyard. There is one roamer in the center of the room and 4 others that spawn near the pillers on each side of the room.
This named, unlike the other lower level 65's is NOT slowable. it is a good idea to keep 2-3 priest classes in your group (i.e. cleric, druid, shaman...or 1 clerics and a shaman) The rest being 2-3 dps and a tank. Unless of course your tank is more uber than I am =o)
Rangers/druids are key here where all mobs can be harmonied.

Killed today, only dropped Ring of Torden. Resisted every single dot and cripple of my 63 chanter after tash of course. All I did was use my cheesy nuke over and over, and threw a little uproar around. Was fun though 8)

took him out tonight, was very dissapointed to see all he hadvwas the ring of torden, was fun though considering when he gated harmony had wore off his so called "guards" so they both agro'd, we just sent the SK on a add mission and continuted withvthe named, (once, i gotvthe adds slowed) .. anyways, it at all possible killvthe guards first, Laef can be pacified as our cleric lvl 65 did with no problem, would of been easier easier if the adds didnt come in play, i plan on doing this more, that mace would be fun to play with =), epic is nice but dps isnt all that haha... with that mace and fully buffed, just cast Ferine Avtar on myself and see what kinda damange i can do with ALL melee stats maxed
Since this guy is immune to slow have your Druid cast Hand of Ro on it (-200 adjust so it won't ever be resisted) followed by Ro's Illumination. Be careful though, because they can generate quite a bit of aggro.
Stacking the two provides -30AC -180ATK -72 FR debuff. If you're curious, they stack because only one has FR component.
This will help on most any MOB that is immune to slow.

FYI, Hand of ro did not take hold on him, as a
level 64 druid, tried 5 times, forgot it at 50pct hp on the mob =)
Anyway, seems resists have been adjusted recently
in BoT, there is now much more resists than a few weeks away...
Does anyone confirm this ?
PS: Oh, and of course, he only dropped the towers ring... as usual... did they nerfed him or what ?

Okay so all these posts on loots, that's nice. But how bout some info on the mob? Max hits, procs, Hps, Defensive/Evasive etc?

For those up to date on the steelwarriors DB/DI posts... Min 282. Max 784. DI=26.5 DB = 256
So about 0.10 on the DI/DB ratio. (under 0.14 is typically evasive, above defensive).
But of course this was only one fight and I was evasive so not that many hits. could be skewed.

Killed him last night with 63sk, 63 druid, 64 rogue(me), 65 cleric, 65 wiz, 65 ench, and with a 60 cleric and 60 shaman botted. his drops were awesome-Rune, spec, ring of torden, staff of flowing water. We failed the first time because the enchanter failed CoD on on of the adds, so he got beat down, the second time it was fairly easy. Only problems we had were that he gates and can heal, so make sure you kill him at his spawn point or else he'll gate and heal before you can even get to him. God luck!

so far, i've seen him drop rune's, spec's, and ornate leather pants. i'm beginning to wonder about something. it seems that the same mob drops the same mold/pattern. I've heard in /gu chat of tactics named dropping the same ornate silk robe pattern over and over. And the leather ornate pants pattern is the only thing i've ever seen this guy drop. would be interesting to find out if that's true and if so, get a list of what drops what.

everytime ive tried to slow this guy it says your spell may have had the opposite effect of what you desired. blah fun fun
