Shadows of LuclinMy guild has been killing this guy for underwater practice with 1 - 2 groups regularly (we're a non-elemental guild) and this item drops fairly rarely, but I've seen it twice and passed on it both times. I don't think it's a very good item at all... I wield epic in primary which gives me more wis, much better mana and lots of other stats and saves, and a simple Tae Ew Shield. My wis is something like 35 over my cap right now (265 at lvl 62) so the + wis doesn't really matter at all, and the Tae Ew Shield has saves and stats which I do need. So I would be trading off 25 ac, 49 points of saves, and 50 HP for FT1. Now while FT1 is great, I have nothing against FT, but I would rather stay alive longer with the shield than regen mana 1 point faster (currently regenning 25 mana/tick medding - 1 more doesn't make that much difference, you have to agree)
Now of course this is all just my opinion, but I would rather see an item with FT and resists than FT and wis.

the meditate modifier allows u to regen mana faster while sitting... so very nice for ppl with mounts, the wis might be more usefull later for you once u spend AAs on raising ur wis cap... id use this over my Tae ew shield unless im in need of saves...
If meditate is at max will the +5% really matter?
If you reached the game's max the +5% mod does nothing, but if you are a semi and your personal max is like 225 it would be added.
I know only clr, dru and shm can use this particular item, but I was explaining it in a more general way.

I've heard that the caps have all since been changed so that stat modifiers always give the correct increase - ie 255 med with 5% mod raises you to 267.75. Can anyone verify this though?

So Who drops this? is this part of teh priest cycle or part of the Ring of fire cycle?
Seems like many items in this zone have flowing thought effects and skill mods I saw another item with +5% doge on it and this has +5% med..
I am definatlly going to have to try to take a large group or 3 in here and see what goodies we cna find.

I dont get it, there are some very nice items dropping on the moon but OS is now overcamped beyond belief! Hmm nice item AC,wis and mana not to mention the effect...

This I dont understand, Ive seen THREE things for Sham/clr/dru that give +15-20 wis ALL with effects. Where the hell is all the caster stuff, only stuff I find sucks ***, and dont even have effects. I LIKE EFFECTS!
Hmmm...This item plus talisman of the burrower. Someone help me wipe my chin, I'm too stunned to do it myself. WOW!

wow that is nice, but i am beggiing to think i have started playing the wrong game, since when did eq turn into diablo? "obsidian ring of the zodiac" type equip is popping up(for those who played the origonal(sp?) D, or d2)..but that is jsut my opinion, adn if you want to differ, go ahead, i jsut like to have a more not so godlike equip out there, i was more then happy when kunark came out with my full suit of banded or bonze, adn i paid alot for it anyway..now, it has to be 99ac and 10 to every stat to even be consisderd good, but oh well

Well times change and new items devaluate the current topline products. One of the good things however so much no drop stuff. I know some ppl who just buy items and plat on Ebay, while these nice big items. (and as long as it is an improvement to current gear nobody cares that much but is happy with the improvements even if it's not the latest discovered drool-item from PoV)
